This is the most beautiful venue. Our guests kept asking how we found out about this place. There are amazing flowers everywhere and the corner we chose to have the ceremony was so picturesque. A lot of the photos our guests took look genuinely professional because the settings were so gorgeous. Marylou was a huge help. In the months leading up the wedding, she promptly responded to my many questions via both text and email. She met with my caterer and my day-of coordinator and gave them tours of the venue. On the day of, she spent far longer than the time expected of her. In fact, she was up late the night before pressing linens and when I arrived an hour early (which she okayed even though it wasn't within the allotted) she and an assistant were already out setting up chairs and tables. In general, I found that Marylou was extremely dedicated to seeing that my vision for the day happened. She had a lot of expertise on how to handle logistics and make sure everything was actually doable, and then she did so much to help execute it on the day of. The only thing that upset me was that I didn't know upfront that I had to buy wedding insurance. It cost about $150 which wasn't terrible, but it was just one more thing to pay for and the bills really added up. Lastly, the bridal room and the reception tent are top notch. The bridal room is equipped with great lighting, four giant full-length mirrors, a bathroom, curtains for changing, a mini-fridge, and glasses for drinks! The tent has a great dance floor, the cutest lighting, and even fans built in to the ceiling. Marylou also has furniture like a bar and cake table which were very handy. My sister in law had her wedding here and the lady who ran the place was nuts. We had little time to setup because the owner said we where not allowed to setup till noon, than she kept asking our relatives to park cars. After the ceremony we had to pick up our chairs and place them at our tables, than when the music started she had a decibel meter and she kept making the DJ turn the music down. She made the bar tender ID people and told them that only they are allowed to give drinks. Than she tried to shut us down an hour early. After the night was over she than again asked people to take there chairs to the area where she stores them. This was the WORST VENUE EVER!! Please save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I got married here this past weekend and everything went by so smoothly. This venue is great because the venue cost includes a tent (with lights already on the tent), chairs and tables. The venue in turn also sets up the chairs and tables for you so you don't have to. We looked at lots of venues and this one by far gives you the largest time frame to set up and have your party (10 hours). This time is by far larger than a lot of the other venues and was essential in my choice. When we arrived to set up at noon (ceremony beginning at 4PM), all the tables were already set up and most of the chairs were setup as well. One of the previous review mentions the music volume, however state law requires that your music be below a certain point. At no point did I feel as though the music was too low during my reception and in fact any louder and I feel it would detract from people's ability to talk to each other. The garden is beautifully managed and Mary is there during the entire event to assist if you need her, to offer advise and to help out when needed. She even let us drop off some items and store ice / wine / drinks in one of her fridges the day prior to the wedding, so we had fewer things to worry about the day of the wedding itself. I got so many compliments from my guests about this venue and the amazing gardens! Would recommend to anybody who is thinking about having an outdoor wedding. read more

Shooting Star Gardens is an amazing location. The house is a beautiful Victorian house with a wraparound porch that is perfect for taking a first look photo. Every direction you look are gorgeous gardens that Marylou (the owner) clearly spends hours upon hours on. There are several different areas that can host a wedding here so you will have options if the lighting isn't right in one area or the flowers are blooming better in another area. Marylou makes everything easy. We did not have a wedding planner but Marylou was there to give her ideas and extra direction for anything we needed on our big day. read more

This wedding venue is absolutely gorgeous and Mary Lou is very friendly and answered all my questions from day one( which was over a year before the wedding).
