They never have more than 5 of the same piece so the chance of seeing someone else in it is extremely slim. My sister and I were in town to see a Laker's game and someone at our hotel recommended that we check out the stores on Melrose. Bliss was our first stop and the only place where I found an item I HAD TO HAVE. Bliss carries unique fashionable pieces are very reasonable prices- the owner has a great eye. Cute dresses, nice blazers, nice tops - they have it all! I loved my new blazer so much that I wore it out later that night. We went to a lounge, didn't dance much and definitely didn't do anything outlandish. I literally sat down most of the night (boring, and uncharacterisitic of me, but hey, it happened). Later on, we went to eat and I looked down at my arms and the entire inner seam on both arms had ripped open leaving two huge gaping holes. I had no idea how it happened. The next day, I returned to Bliss, and without any hassle at all, the owner exchanged my ripped blazer for a new one. No questions asked. I am aware that I just happened to have impeccable timing and the owner was there when I went back, but I can't express how grateful I was. The sales associate was also really nice both of the days that I went into the boutique. Bliss, you definitely have my vote. I'll be back in LA in a few weeks and I will definitely be paying you a visit! Thanks, again!

He is really conscious of design history, and carries old and new cuts (I saw a great Prada top rocking a Memphis pattern), great young labels like Correll Correll (I long for their deconstructed T-shirts). The garments all feature fantastic, high-quality textiles (linens, raw silks, lovely cottons, creative pairings). This is the place for a distinctive jacket, a sheer, digitally printed blouse, an androgynous robe, a pair of lovely soft leather wedges... His prices are on the higher side but hey, critique of judgement, and his is great. You aren't going to find cheap "filler" pieces on his racks (as you will on the surrounding racks in the neighborhood). Everything is there for a reason. If there was one caveat I would say that I wish some of the shoe offerings were in different sizes (my feet were too small for the ones I coveted) but they are often vintage, which is the explanation...so hint hint, more 7.5 size, please! His salespeople are also knowledgable and enthusiastic about the pieces, and you get a sense that they are all working there for a reason too... I suspect that the clientele in the neighborhood might not quite realize what a gift they've been given. If more boutiques like Weltenbuerger were to arrive in SoCal, I would say hallelujah!

The value of the outfits can vary. I found the one of a kind dresses to be reasonable. A dress will run at about $100 and you're getting something unique. I didn't get one because I thought I had a bracelet at home in a similar color. But after I got home I kept thinking about how unique they were so I went back to buy one. Cammy, one of the sales women, was very patient and friendly in helping me pick out a color (there are more than 20 assorted color variations). She wasn't salesy at all and didn't try to convince me to buy something extra or something I didn't want. She was knowledgeable about the product and told me the pros AND cons. They were currently having a sale on their jeans for $29.99 (down from $39.99), and supposedly the quality of their jeans is really good. The customer service here is excellent--the girls who work here are very sweet and actually knew my friend from the times she had come in before. They give you a free bottle of water, which totally scored a point with my cheap asian self, and they're very good at telling you what looks good or what doesn't look good on you. I'll be testing out the pair of jeans to see if I would want to come back and buy some more later. . .
