I just moved to the Salt Lake valley and needed a new optometrist for my old eyes. I chose Magna Family Eyecare because they have good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. They have great diagnostic equipment and can quickly test for all manner of eye related issues. There is a nice team of people handling the front desk. My doctor (Dr. White) was excellent and gave me a thorough checkup. He had some newer diagnostic techniques I haven't seen before. That helped me realize I was in the right place. They have a large selection of frames which is great! Sunglasses to. The office is situated in a modern building. I can whole-heartedly recommend Magna Family Eyecare. Cya there sometime!

I didn't know an optometrist office could be run poorly,…read morenormally it's a pretty straightforward once a year event but this has definitely opened my eyes (pun intended). I had to call 4 times across 2 days before I got ahold of someone here and never got a call back. On the 5th call, once I did finally get ahold of someone, 15 minutes into the call I still didn't have an appointment and had to go to a meeting and asked them to call me back in an hour which they agreed to do. 4 hours later after not receiving a call I had to call back in twice more over the next day to finally get ahold of someone and start all over once again. All I needed was a standard annual appointment and a corneal topography. They stated that this was no problem and part of their routine annual exam anyway. The next day I got another call from them in which they said (direct quote) "I'm just wondering why you want the corneal topography..." firstly, that's none of your concern, secondly, you already stated it was standard practice so why does it matter? 2 days before my appointment I get another call which I miss and they left a voicemail saying they moved my appointment a day earlier (without my permission) but I decide I'm already this deep so let's just finish it out. I show up to my appointment and the receptionist says that my appointment is tomorrow (the original time). At that point I cancelled my appointment because this is just insanity. You would think it would end there but 2 hours later I get a reminder for my appointment which I had canceled in person earlier that day. I have no idea how this place is still open, maybe the doctors are phenomenal. I truly can't speak to them and their expertise as I couldn't even get that far. You need a complete overhaul of your entire operating procedures. Good luck!

My eyes haven't really been changing much as an adult, so I value an eye doctor where I can check my prescription and get in and out quickly. I appreciate here that they do exactly that. They make sure you have everything you need but aren't just trying to upsell you on everything. Dr. Bateman is awesome and really seems to care about getting his patients taken care of. I would highly recommend this eye doctor as a no nonsense option to get you the prescription and glasses/contacts you need.

It's $65 for eyeglass exam and $90 for contract lenses which I feel is very reasonable. I would recommend making an appointment with the optometrist before hand so you do t have to wait in line. Today I saw Dr. Nathan Green & he was wonderful! Took time and did thorough checkup. Gave me sample plain lenses to wear for the full day so I can let them know if I feel comfortable with them or not, and then we will place the order. The doctor and the receptionist were super nice & friendly. Highly recommend them.

The manager was extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable. I tried on so many glasses and was grateful for their opinions and patience. What topped the cake was dealing with my insurance. I rarely use my optical insurance and the manager spent so much time helping me even though it was so busy. She was never snappy or impatient, and I appreciated her expertise. I'm really excited for my new glasses too and love my frames.

Patient offices should understand that people book specific drs for a reason....if thy are going to be unavailable, they should be communicating that ahead of appts! No excuse! Terrible receptionist, "manager" she claimed she was until I spoke with the actually manager. I've…read morebeen in store 3-4 times the past year and she is always rude, doesn't even try to help or answer questions. So put out to have clients that she leaves the door closed and glares or rolls eyes if you open it. Today was the worst though. She belittled us for scheduling an appointment without knowing that they don't partner with our insurance, when I actually had! And I've used it there multiple times, same network, same plan. Tried to charge us a cancellation fee for wasting her time. Before booking, I knew they were separate from Costco and I used their own website to confirm insurance, co-pays and all. This girl refused us and was completely wrong and so rude! Later when I yelled at the manager about her behavior he was defensive until he looked it up and confirmed that our date of birth and plan matched their own system and previous records to see we were correct and he apologized for her behavior. But this is beyond ridiculous to be treated the way she does every time. I'm stupid for returning hoping it would be a different person, but not anymore. He has lost our business and that of many other people by the looks of it just because of her behavior and lack of attempt to even look into the one single insurance they partner with to see we were covered there.

When I asked if he wasn't able to presribe, the answer was 'he chooses NOT to treat any medical issues". What a waste of time and now I have to go find another Dr. , make an appt.(who knows how long I'll have to wait for that), pay for another visit, all while I have an active eye infection. NOT HELPFUL.
