Looking at the review for this store I can understand the low ratings for this location. I was in this store early in the evening and was seeking some toiletries items prior to leaving on a cruise from Canada Place. The store wasn't busy but the layout was a bit unfamiliar for me. I asked the woman ( either Pakistani/Indian or of a darker Asian descent) for location of a few items. She just flashed her hand in the direction and spoke something that was totally in a murmur in a voice that was totally understandable. I asked her again, she just went and started a conversation with the cashier. This was totally rude of her. You need to remember that customer is what drives the success of a retail operation. Without customers, your retail operation may not exist and therefore your job won't be either. As a retire CEO of a major retail operation, this would not be tolerated in an organization. It seems that you do not enjoy your work. I suggest that you find a job that you enjoy. This type of attitude should not exist when dealing with the public. I understand that there are several Shoppers Drug Mart in Vancouver. Since I am not a native of your city, using the map function on Yelp I located the exact location of this retail operation that I patronized on Tuesday evening ( September 16th) If you are a senior executive responsible for this location I suggest that you speak with this person and provide them with additional training on dealing with customers in the future. I'm giving this a place a three star because the food that they have is not that great. If you're looking to food shop, you should look at urban fair or something other than here. But me and my boyfriend find some stuff that we need. also don't try their pizza because YUCKKKK! Terrible customer service concerning a faulty product I purchased at a Vancouver store. They just pass the buck to the manufacturer who in response told is we need to deal with SDM directly because that was where the product was purchased. Been using Shoppers for decades so I brought my Canada Customs pcr covid test kit to this location previously using them 2-3 times. Just fill in their info sheet and in/out in 5 minutes. I show up with my kit but she's too busy with pending booked appointments ( shows me) So no test unless I come back a few hours later or book online appointment. No problem I'll book it online, print out confirmation, bring kit and go tomorrow. Next day get there on time for booked appointment, she smugly says she can't take me because I need an appointment which I readily tell her I have with a confirmation. But no, I need to fill in her 2 minute info sheet first then book appointment. I said that's not how it worked the last few times I walked in and I didn't even have an appointment, completed info sheet took test, out in 5 minutes! Then she condescendingly says that's our procedure now which make me wonder why Shoppers Drug Mart would utilize an outdated app for the WHOLE Country! Then she says the kit she gave me yesterday needs an order ID#. WHAT Kit? I show her my kit from Canada Customs and tell her I already have the order ID# from Fly clear filled in on the paperwork . Then she asks where is her info sheet she gave me yesterday and I said you didn't give me anything except tell me to come back later or book an appointment, which is why I'm here again. She then says she has no record of a booked appointment and nope! can't take you have to come back later today, but I have to sign her info sheet first if I want to come back and get tested. I 'm a senior so I said it took me 1/2 hour to walk here , another to go back home and you want me to come back later? I asked for the manager but not in. ( I didn't tell her I have CVD, walking 1 hour round trip is a hike and 2 hours might be tough?) Then she says earliest she'll take me 1 1/2 hours later, enough time to go home and comeback. I needed this for Canada Customs so I filled in her form, walked home only to have her call me to remind me to bring a doc I already had in my kit. When I went back, she reached for my kit, mumbled to me walk around the corner and the test guy was ready and I was in/out in 3 minutes. Just like it was the previous times before,easy/peasy. All that for that. How can a company of this magnitude afford to have a "Customer Service" banner represented by pugnacious condescending ignorant individuals who would rather p"ss us off so we can take our business elsewhere. Love this new location in Coal Harbour! The drugstore is open 8am to Midnight 7 days a week, so it's always my go-to spot when I need a snack, a light bulb, or when I unexpectedly run out of shampoo or deodorant. This location also houses a Canadian Post mailing center (way back in the corner by the pharmacy). In addition to basic snacks, cereals, breads, and baking supplies, the store also has a small frozen foods and fresh foods section. I've even noticed Chinese BBQ pork buns from a local bakery in the fresh section ... tempting. Very tempting. The staff is helpful and plentiful, so it's always easy to ask for help when trying to track down a particular product. read more

My wife went THREE TIMES with pixel requirements for her PR photo and they were unable to complete the request, even after we explained the problem in great detail. They kept us waiting for over half an hour! Gave us a completely incoherent explanation just to get rid of us. Even after the listing on the photo had THE SAME PIXEL DIMENSIONS! Huge waste of time! This store does not understand that these photos affect people's lives. It's not a fun photo to send to Grandma. Alister and Kim as Cashier Supervisors were completely incompetent. The doctor giving me the booster was ignoring me? She didn't say anything about the booster, until I asked if I could get Moderna, she said yes and that was it. She didn't say anything else while taking 10-15 minutes with the Caucasian person before me. My time with her was like 5 minutes including she using hand sanitizer, not even care to give or instruct me a bandage. I felt left out and discouraged. There was a line of puke as I walked up to the door in my old lady shoes. They were like little alien brains, as I hopped around them, I thought of it as a sort of video game. Cops handcuffed a guy on the side of the store as the automatic doors opened up to reveal a cavernous Shoppers. My heels echoed through the store just to get to the main aisle in this spacious layout. They seem to be going the opposite direction to what the location on Commercial/Broadway is doing where you crawl over each other. Ironic that this was the location where there puking and arrests were being made. I bought an energy drink and found some cheap ear bud headphones. I walked into this location and was immediately greeted with display cases with beautiful jewellery and knew that this location must be different from the traditional stores. The beauty section of the store is full of high(er) end cosmetics and perfumes. They also have Suede brand bags and a wide variety of reasonably priced jewellery items in the back. Big fan of that!! The usual drugstore style cosmetics are still available and it's nice to have the mix without having to go to multiple stores. The store itself appeared to be fully stocked and had the usual wide variety of items. I also found that they could definitely improve the checkout section. Normally I wouldn't complain about this store but because of a similar complaint below - there may be a theme and problems with how they treat people and with returns. I was going to buy a Keurig coffee pot using my points - of which I have quite a few. One of the management was who the cashier was - immediately, he told me - This will be "all sales final". Because it is a coffee pot and not something you eat or use, I asked "what happens if I get it home and there is something wrong with it" so he told me I would have to "deal with the company". That statement was not really helpful - so to seek clarification, I said "you mean the Keurig company?" He became impatient and said "we don't give refunds on points!". ummm - excuse me? First of all, I wasn't asking for a refund on points, I haven't even taken the coffee pot, I'm just asking what happens if it doesn't work, but he was clearly annoyed. It felt like he was accusing me of trying to defraud them in some way. So I left without the coffee pot. Why would \i take a new piece of equipment if I can't return it if there is a problem - so I will use the points for something that won't have the possibility of malfunction. I don't have a problem with purchase on points policy - however they don't have to be rude and angry - and there should be a way to explain it without being impatient. They should have people on the front counter who actually enjoy working with the public. Asides from that, this store is ok. I love this Shoppers. Not the largest, but certainly the most organized and clean. SELECTION Not the widest variety of goods, but carry much of the essentials you'd need. Household goods, snacks, kitchen essentials and cosmetics. STAFF What makes this Shoppers stand out is the staff here. Everyone is super friendly, helpful, and respectful. In general, you get the feeling that its a pretty decent place to work, and people are happy to be here. On another note, this Shoppers deals with some of the most self-important, impatient business people coming home after a long day. During 4pm-6pm on weekdays, these people are SO rude to the staff working the cashiers. I am always so impressed at the calm and polite way they deal with difficult customers. I really feel like they listen to my beauty inquiries and provide me with the best makeup, skin and body care advice. Yes, It's a block away from home and yes it's open late (the stars are for that alone) but these people need to get their butts in gear with the tills. I have never seen all 5 or 6 tills have cashiers but there is always 12 people in line and usually just one person helping. Please do not support the pharmacy at this location. The pharmacist owner of this pharmacy has demonstrated that she lacks professionalism as a healthcare individual through how she treated her patient/customer and has little regard for patients' welling being. She treated a patient/customer with anger and disrespect without care of the individual's circumstances out of defensiveness for her own business. I recently went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my chest infection. I was confused and understandably upset when I noticed shortly after getting home that there was a handwritten comment on the package above the label of the prescription envelope that read "Ew" which was circled. Immediately I called the pharmacy and ask to speak to the manager. The lady that picked up the phone identified herself as the pharmacy owner. I described to her in a very calm tone what I seemed to have noticed on my prescription package. Without a word of apology, she immediately questioned in a condescending manner what I described. I described it again and where it was located. At this point of realizing what I was explaining to her, her tone became defensive and she started to talk over me and repeated several times that professional pharmacists would never do such a thing. She started off saying to me "do not accuse me or my team". I tried to interject and explained to her that I would certainly hope that that was not the case but that I wanted to show it to her as I did not know how else to explain what I was seeing; I emphasized in a polite tone that I was not accusing anyone but merely stating a fact and asking for a solution on her part on how to resolve it. Her emphasis was never at any point how a potential misunderstanding or perception on part of her patient might have impacted the patient who was already suffering. At no point did she ever acknowledge that it was possible that there is a misunderstanding or that she was sorry that I might have felt that that comment was targeted towards myself. She became increasing rude and angry when I explained again that I was trying to describe to her what I was seeing. She called me in 5 minutes following this conversation and asked her if it was possible that the note said "New" and not "Ew". I looked again and there was smaller smudge that could pass for a dot or N. I immediately said I was really glad that she called to explain and that I was glad that there was a reasonable explanation. She went off on me. She shouted at me and said what made me think that a professional pharmacist would do such a thing. I was so taken aback by how insulting and angry she was that I did not know what to say other than that that was what it read like and I simply wanted a reasonable explanation. I asked her if she was accusing me of something and she just kept talking over me. She ends the call by saying that she took what I said an an apology and hung up. I was in near tears.. I understand that when you are misunderstood that you get upset; for a business owner and healthcare professional to react and handle the situation that she did simply floored me. I hope that no one else would ever have to go through this experience again. I am not sure what else I can do other than to post a review for potential future customers but I hope that this helps someone else avoid such a hurtful experience.. read more

This is my favourite Shopper's, and not just because it's the closest to my house. Sometimes I come in here just because I'm bored and lonely and like to look at all the bottles of nail polish I really shouldn't be buying. More often than not, I come in on a Saturday night around 11pm because I realize I haven't had dinner yet and I get a nice $5 frozen pizza and some cat food for Misery. None of the staff have every mentioned that I'm a lazy slob and should get, like, friends, or a real dinner, so major points for that. read more

Shop here if you like to be treated like a criminal... I've shopped at this location, nearly daily, for over a year now. To the point where the cashiers know me and greet me personally. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store. But after my experience there today, I will never return. Why? Because of the incredibly rude service, not of the cashiers, or staff, but by the owner of the store herself (Rashin Mandegarian). I stopped there today to pick up a few items and cashed in $30 of shoppers points to pay for my purchase. My order came to just under $30, so the cashier (a lovely young woman named Abiegail) mentioned I needed to exceed $30 to use my points. No problem. I added another protein bar to my purchase, as I was already on my way to the gym. I paid the additional amount on my debit card and confirmed with her that I could walk back and pick one up without a problem... which is what I did. I walked back to the front of the store and held up the bar and waved to her, with a smile, as I exited the store. That smile quickly dissolved as I walked up the exit ramp to leave the store. An older woman, staff member from the store, I had never seen before approached me and literally ripped the protein bar out of my hand, exclaiming, "Do you intend to pay for that?!" with an indignant look on her face. I looked up, aghast, at her and simply said, "Of course, I already did." She asked me for my receipt, which I promptly provided. After examining it, she returned the bar to me, and walked away, mumbling, "sorry" in an incredibly arrogant tone. I turned around and approached her, "I really don't appreciate your tone and treatment." I said simply. "I would like to speak with your manager. She turned around and, again, indignantly, said, "Sorry, I am the manager/owner of this store." Wow, is all I could think. And this is the example you set for your customers and employees?! I was quite upset as I continued on my way to the gym for my workout. On my way back to work, I wanted to get the owner's name to write a formal complaint to Shopper's Drug Mart. I met her at the back by the pharmacy and she invited me to step into her office. She apologized, again with an air of arrogance, about how she "treated" me. Then proceeded to appeal to my understanding, saying that, because I carried a backpack (profiled) and other people steal protein bars with backpacks, that she assumed I was a criminal. Really? I was wearing dress pants and a dress shirt. And regardless, she assumes her customers are thieves before confirming. Grabbing the "stolen" merchandise out of their hands as they attempt to exit her store... I foolishly attempted to give her the benefit of the doubt and thought, maybe, she'd actually apologize with decent intention. Maybe say that she appreciated me being a loyal customer for so long. Maybe thanking me for my continued business. Maybe offer some peace-offering/credit for my inconvenience? Nope. I asked her for her card and will be forwarding this to Shopper's Drug Mart as a formal complaint. Really sad to see such treatment around this city. Maybe this review will help open her eyes and give you some insight into how this particular store treats it's customers. As I've read just now, I'm not the only one who has been mistreated here. I will never return here and I advise you to think twice if you shop here. People who think that they are better than you, and look down on you, never deserve your loyalty or respect. read more

This Shoppers Drug Mart in general and the pharmacy department in particular does not deserve any star as they are priciest in the whole of British Columbia. I was in the area and filled some prescription and they charged me about $250 for 5 prescriptions. It seems quite high so I speak to the pharmacist Somani and he told me that they are very competitive and if there is any problem you can check with other pharmacists and he would gladly refund the money. Next day I faxed the prescription to Costco and London Drugs and I received a fax back whereby Costco was $77 less and London Drugs was $45 less, compare to Shoppers Drug Mart. I went to Shoppers Drug Mart at Coal Harbour and the pharmacist on duty told me that only the manager Rashin can deal with this matter and that I leave all the information and she will contact me. Next day Manager Rashin contacted me and told me that she is the owner of the pharmacy at Shoppers Drug Mart, Coal Harbour and that she will not be giving me any refund as she does not do any price matching (completely contrary to the Pharmacist Somani who told me that he will meet and beat the price). I asked Manager Rashin that you are not $2 or $5 more, you are approximately 30% more compare to Costco and approximately $20% more compare to London Drugs and this is outrageous. She told me Mr. Somani gave me wrong information and that she will not be refunding any money. I asked her that I am a client and I want to file a complain and escalate this matter and please provide me with her manager name. She told me her manager name is confidential and that I should call the headquarters and find out from them. In summary, if you have money to throw away than Shoppers Drug Mart, Coal Harbour is the place to go and if you like to pay 30% more to fill prescription than Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy is the place to go. read more

Stay away from this Shoppers! The new management is forcing employees to deny returns to customers even when a return is valid or a product does not work. I purchased a Toni and Guy hair straightener that did not work and they refused to let me return it. I was told to send it back to Toni and Guy. I contacted Toni and Guy and they said I had to return it to Shopper's. I was then informed buy Shopper's head office that I in fact had to return it to the Shopper's where I purchased it. I love this Shoppers. The staff are really friendly, the store is spotless, and I've never had any issue making returns. I have only returned cosmetics though, so perhaps it would be different with a household or food item. What keeps me coming back are the amazing pharmacists. I had an issue with a prescription awhile back (my doctor prescribed the incorrect dose) and they immediately spotted it. They also called my doctor's office to confirm the correct dosage and then phoned me to let me know that the issue had been resolved. The pharmacists are also very thorough and knowledgeable. I will not be returning to this shoppers again being treated so poorley after being a regular shopping there 1-2 times a day . this store is located across the street from me so i get most of my everyday essentials from this location. the day prior of today i purchased a personal item that had almost half the contents missing, when i went to return it within half an hour of purchase or exchange it for another one, the manager ignorantly told me there was nothing he could do about it and gave off the impression he just viewed me as a low class thief. he told me the owner would be in tomorrow so i returned today to speak with her. i had just missed her and when i attempted to speak with the manager "LEX" again he gave me the cold shoulder and walked away refusing to speak with me. as angry as i was i went to leave but was then stopped by an employee there that asked to search my bag i handed her my bag an allowed to to search through it for i had nothing to hide but i was astonished at how rude and improper work ethics these employees had. to treat a customer that shops at that store everyday maybe even a couple times a day and is familiar with most of the staff with such ignorance is completely unacceptable. i will never shop there again and i would advise anyone who doesn't like being stolen from then kicked to the ditch not to shop there either. read more
