This review is for the Beauty department of the Shoppers located in Metrotown mall. I stopped in to ask when their Smashbox and Benefit Christmas sets would be available. The sales associate told me I would need to wait until after Halloween, but asked if I would be interested in attending a special Smashbox makeover event. She gave me all the info about the event, talked to me about Smashbox as a company, its products and even helped me to try out the primers and gave me a little sample as well. This visit took much longer than I expected and my boyfriend had wandered off a long time ago. But I very much appreciated the personal attention that the sales associate gave to me even though it was clear that I wasn't planning on buying anything that day. read more

Worst customer service ever! I went out of my way to this location because I had an item on hold in the cosmetics department. The lady that worked in the cosmetics department found my hold item and proceeded to ring it up and then stopped tot text on her phone. She didn't say anything for a while and kept texting for a couple of minutes and I was shocked on how rude she was and she didn't say anything to me and ignored me. I interrupted her texting and asked her how much was the bill which was incorrect because she didn't know about the promotion price so I had to explain to her how the redemption points worked. I never came across this level of customer service. Taking personal messages on your phone and ignoring your customer so rude! I'm never going back this Shoppers Drug Mart in Metrotown mall. read more

Worst Shoppers Drug Mart location. I went for the purpose of a large haul on luxury items and chose items with gifts with purchase. I met several brand thresholds, except for one where I was just shy $5 or so. I was told that regardless of a $700+ purchase, this $5 difference could not be budged. I have been to several locations where Beauty Advisors do their best to find things for customers. But the worker's response in telling me to calm down and putting her hands firmly on my shoulders was not appropriate. I froze, not only because that has never happened to me, but also because I wasn't even that upset. It was definitely annoying, but I did not raise my voice nor make a scene, so for someone to put their hands on me without consent was shocking. And telling me to calm down was condescending. I submitted the survey with the complaint that customers should not be touched without consent and requested a response from the store. After viewing the surveillance camera, the Beauty Manager confirmed she would speak to the staff member to keep her hands to herself (what we are taught as toddlers) and was given the typical -- sorry you had such a bad experience, but hope your next visit will be better. LOL like there would be a next visit. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Again fire blackbird security! They don't follow the five steps they profile the wrong people accuse you of theft then miss people stealing. Yeah I'm done with you guys I'll take my money to the store on Granville because the guards there don't pull this garbage with me and oh yeah that's another store that blackbird security lost a contract with! Again you deserve zero stars but yelp forces me to give it so you got it but you didn't earn it nor do you deserve it. I absolutely would not recommend this store! A busy Shoppers inside Metrotown. It is located on the top floor of Metrotown near Walmart. They do not have produce but they do have some grocery items like a dairy and frozen items. We came here to pick up prune juice. The store was pretty busy when we came. Also I did find this location a bit crammed. It is not my favorite Shoppers but I do like the fact that it is inside Metrotown. Only issue is that if you buy lots of items, you might have trouble carrying it across the mall to your parking space (depending on where you parked). read more

Walmart pharmacy ran out of benedryl cream and didn't have any extra inventory on hand. This store was in close proximity and had lots of benedryl cream available. The only issue was that the self checkout system flagged my US credit card, forcing a cashier to run over and punch her manager code to override the system. This wouldn't have been an issue at Walmart. read more

Shoppers Drug Mart - Drugstores Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

This is one of my favorite Shoppers, it's a good size, fairly clean and they have self checkout which I like. It used to be 24 hours which was great but I think it is only open til midnite now. The employees are ok and they have decent grocery items as well, (milk, eggs etc.) which some of the smaller ones don't. They also have a decent size cosmetic section as well. There is street parking on Kingsway except between 3-6pm and on the side streets.... read more

The cosmetician went quickly beside me and said "Excuse me" loudly and then she pulled out the bottom drawer and hit my purse. I did not know why she would do that when I was standing there and we were interacting with another cosmetician. She was rude. They put our purchases on the edge of counter and told us to wait for the next available cashier. The queue was not clear; there were people kept coming to the cosmetic cashier counter from all directions. So we told them that we were next in line and that rude cosmetician said she could help us. They had enough cosmeticians on the floor, but they either stood there, walked around, or pretended that they were busy instead of helping the customers asap. read more

Places that are open 24 hours a day are generally hit or miss, but on the multiple occasions that I have found myself needing to fill a prescription or get a last minute item, this Shoppers Drug Mart location has been a treat. The lighting is bright and inviting, the selection of goods is typical of any other SDM, and I have yet to encounter any nasty employees even at the eleventh hour when it's me and a few random yahoos. One thing that I found very reassuring and pleasant was that on my recent trip I had filled a prescription at about 1030pm on a Sunday night. The pharmacist was lively and helpful and had my prescription complete and ready to go in minutes. He also spent time providing me with details of the pills and any side effects to be concerned about. Lastly, a few nights ago I was surprised by a call from Shoppers Drug Mart. Did I win a prize for being their billionth customer?! No, they just wanted to take a moment to see how the medication was doing and made suggestions on how to minimize any side effects. Certainly, winning a prize would make me feel appreciated, but the call was equally as pleasant. read more

A nice shoppers in Metrotown. A little on the inside so a bit harder to locate. Pretty small but have most things except like food items and post office like other shoppers might have. Reasonable prices and organized store that have some entertainment, daily supplies, makeup and beauty items, and other products. Lots of parking spaces beneath and very convenient with the bus stops and skytrain at walking distance. read more

Located at a super convenient location inside Metrotown on the third floor, public transit is accessible (to the mall). Store is nice and clean, well-organized with a few staff stocking up here and there. Always look for the weekly deals and promotions as it can save you a few bucks. They also have a clearance section at the end of the store so you can search thru the bins if you have time. The only thing that needs improvement is their line-ups at cashiers. I'm sure they can speed things up when it gets busy or during peak hours. read more

Large section of small travel items that helped me prepare for my trip.

The mall doesn't need a Shoppers Drug Mart, however, it's good to know that it's there for the basics. I needed some calcium tablets 'cause it was that time of month and I wasn't feeling too awesome. I wasn't feeling the mom and pop health and supplement store in the mall based on customer service, therefore, opted to go to the generic store instead. The customer service was really awesome and friendly. The lady at the til was really patient with me, women to women as to what supplement would best relieve certain symptoms. Every time I do go in here, it's always quiet. The lady at the til appreciated my dark sense of humor which very few people get. When you're on your rag, you have to have some level of humor in the situation. read more

Today around 4:15 p.m. I was in the cosmetic section of Metrotown's shoppers drug mart. I saw a Lancôme perfume that my mom uses and it was in a set tagged for $86. I was very excited, so I grabbed it and when I went to the counter I was told it wasn't $86, but instead to pay $145. I told the employee that the tag said otherwise ($86) and we went together to check the tag. The tag was right ($86), but she told me there's nothing I can do. It was the stores fault so that's something that the employee should have apologized about, but she chose not to and the tone and demeanour was very off-putting. I requested to speak with the manager, and the employee told me that she'll tell me the same thing. I still insisted that I speak to her as the tag was there and I work in customer service and know how customers are supposed to be dealt with, especially when the store is the one in the wrong. The manager came to me, upset and told me that it was what the tag said and that I should know how much it costs if this is a perfume that my mum uses. It was in a gift set, not on its own, so that was very offensive to me. Also, I think because of my attire that I was looked down upon and that she also racially profiled me by suggesting I should know the price. I've never experienced anything like this before. The managers name was Bridgette. She degraded me when she should have apologized and resolved the issue. read more

Stepped foot into the store, neither of the two associates working acknowledged me, but continued to gossip with one another. Only give this location 2 stars for the one sales associate who spent nearly 20 minutes helping me find what I was looking for. read more
