Needed a few things before our cruise. We stayed where we could cook as well, and found a great selection of groceries to nosh on. Found what we needed, service was fast, helpful and friendly. The prices were about what we pay back in states, so no issues. I recommend this location, although when we came back through post cruise, they were closed to all shoppers except pharmacy at the door. Not sure what happened, but hope they were back open soon. read more

This London drugs is one of the oldest stores in the chain. It's smaller then other ones, and it's quite busy, due to its location on Robson Street. As a former employee of the company ( not this location ) I noticed that they were lacking many shelf tags that display the price. On 3 items I wanted today - not one of them had a tag. The staff isn't overly friendly or helpful at this location. The cosmetics department is much smaller, and doesn't carry many beauty lines that the other LD's do. The entire vibe of the store made me tired, and eager to leave. They do have some good prices on some items, but I would rather purchase them at a different location. read more

We paid at the customer service counter and the computer had the same name with different price for two different items on the screen. So the cashier called someone to check the price for us. She deducted the wrong amount but it was not shown underneath the original item. Rather, the deducted amount appeared at the end of the list of items. How could they have the same name for different items with different prices in the system? Wouldn't it make more sense to position the deducted amount in the system directly below the original item? Near the corner of Bute, right along Robson, this is the only store for blocks that serves a very congested part of downtown. They usually have sales, and specials on drinks. And probably the only place on the heavy retail lane of Robson to sell other things, like food, makeup, candy, etc. Sometimes you just want to dodge the rest of Robson, well come into this store, and you can just do some regular shopping for toilet paper, or shop for a new computer. You have to remember that this location is smaller than there other stores, as real estate on Robson is a premium, but at least they keep with their other stores with the sales, and try to be well stocked. read more

A couple months ago I went to the photo lab at London Drugs on Robson. I had selected a bunch of pictures to be developed. When I went to pick them up there seemed to be a lot of inconsistencies with the photos. Some were fuzzy, some were dark, some brighter, the colours were off on some pictures. Now you might say it was my phones camera, but no because the photos were taken at the same time on the same day with the same light. I even copied a couple of the same photo and they were both different when I got them developed. I went back to complain because I had had another issue with them a few weeks before. The manger I think she said her name was Moet? told me that the settings on the photo finisher were off. So the machine that picks up colour, density, etc was off. When I asked her do your lab technicians not check these things before printing someone's phots off and charging them for bad photos she said no and that it was missed. I felt like the I never really get an apology. She offered to print them off again with the settings in place this time and see offered the old pictures for free which I found kind of insulting. What would I do with dark pictures? I felt like they were treating me like the bad customer. Previous to this I had taken in a photo which had ripped on the bottom left corner when some condensation got on the frame. I took it in to be reconstructed as it was an old baby picture. The damage was small, but when I went in and asked for an estimate on how much it would cost to fix the damage I was told roughly $60 give it take. This is by the staff who asked the technician on duty. I remember thinking that is too high of a price for one photo with small damage. They tried to give me all sorts of reasons why they thought the cost was justified like the work would take long, etc. I had other old photos in the past that I had reconstructed, so I decided to get a second opinion. When I went over to the London Drugs on Davie St I talked with their photo technician there and he told me he would do it for $20. I was shocked at the huge difference in price from one London Drugs to the next. Are they not the same company? Should their prices not be the same or similar? Yeah I was very disappointed and I feel like whenever I walk into the London Drugs on Robson I'm greeted by unfriendly staff. I would rather go to the Davie location. I did go back and I spoke with the same manager and she told me it's up to the technician. I think that's a terrible response. And for those that don't believe me I kept the receipt from the technician at the Davie location $19.99 plus tax...yes don't go to the photo lab on Robson St. read more

I bought a faulty AC from LD that poured a huge amount of water on the floor despite full installation, so brought it back within the appropriate time frame. I contacted not only the general customer service but the store itself and was assured I could return to the electronics area no problem. I unloaded with the help of a 3rd party on a very busy street. Upon bringing all the parts in I was told by the guy selling me ACs my "reason is not good enough" to bring the unit back. Not only would he not process my return, he forced me to reload all the parts back into my car and come back the next day because apparently he needed his manager who was mysteriously missing. He was very argumentative, gave me zero leeway to organize any solution, and was actively uninterested in me as a customer in general. If I spend $700+ on a product as large and as inconvenient to bring back, I expect costumer service to not belittle my struggles and efforts. I am very disappointed in this interaction. LUCKILY a woman at customer service promptly processed and received my return the next day, no thanks to that guy. read more

I went to this place to take a picture of my self. Initially they were good but later next day when I went there to let them know about my concern about the picture they become super defensive. Instead of listening properly ,one of the staff started to say that they are doing the business for so many year etc etc. they wanted to return me the money. But this is not about money. I was excited to find London Drugs along our leisurely stroll on Robson- drug stores always mean that I can find Canadian candies and chocolate bars that I can't find here in the Bay Area. I just about dragged my sister in so that we could browse their candy section and bring enough stock back to last me until my next trip up. Luckily, this London Drugs has a fairly extensive selection of chocolate bars right near the entrance. I was doubly blessed- a lot of the bars were on sale (3 bars for $2), though they were still expensive by, say, Target standards. It took me like 30 minutes to decide what to get but here's what I ended up with: a Kinder Surprise (I know I can get it here, but I can never resist a Kinder Surprise), Nestle Smarties (like M & M's but with a thicker candy coating), a Flake bar, Cadbury Wunder bars (which my sister incorrectly called 'Wunder bras'), a Crunchie bar, a Crispy Crunch bar, and a Sweet Marie bar. I haven't finished this stash, but from what I've had so far, I really enjoyed the Sweet Marie (with whole peanuts and caramel?), while my sister liked the Flake bar so much she went and got more from Cost Plus (apparently the source for all foreign candies here). I have to stay that I didn't really check out the rest of the store, but I imagine that the rest of the store pretty much looks like any other drug store. read more

Unlike many of the U.S. tourists here, I live apx. 3 blocks from this store. I am in there so often, I know most names of the employees and they know mine. Talk about service - it's AWESOME - from the Customer Service counter where my "buddy" works to the great pharmacists & their assistants and let's not forget the merchandisers & fabulous cashiers. We always seem to end up in a conversation and there's one lady cashier in particular who is a riot! I joke I'm in there that often, I should have shares in the place - too bad it's private. Long, long term employees there too - that tells you something. Great prices and fabulous sales, especially on items that I always purchase. It's the only flyer I look at, but mainly look at their great website for deals. My hair colour (yes I admit it!) goes on sale for half-price quite regularly and I stock up when it does. The electronics department is small, but what great deals you can find there. Sometimes I see furniture-type items advertised in the Broadway Store - it's humongous in there and wish they were in this store.......but guess it wouldn't be the same local store. Overall a reliable store with good stock of staples & basics, also a good choice for fast passport photos and the like. Regularly come here for pharmacy items (prescription and non), also they're one of a surprisingly few stores close to the financial district that will take credit card payment on monthly bus pass purchases. Service is okay, with the notable exception being a fellow that seems to regularly be working the Customer Service counter - his name is Arni and he a real gent. Never once in years have I seen him fail to be courteous, even when it is busy and customers get impatient or rude. That guy deserves a raise. read more

I like London Drugs. ALL London Drugs. I went to this one in particular the other day just to browse -- my usual -- and to look for a birthday present in the computer/video games section. First off, the NICEST man was working there that day, and he made great recommendations! With the help of this very nice man, my husband found his laptop base fan. Paid a very reasonable price too! In fact, it was the last one tucked away behind the counter because it was getting phased out. London Drugs is a great drug store in the mold of Rite Aid or Walgreens that we have here in the States, but the store fronts of London Drugs are bigger than the typical drug store i was used to. There was a pretty decent selection of food, mostly in the soup, canned, dry and instant food variety. There was also a wing that sold electronics. The stores offered an impressive variety and I ended doing quite a bit of shopping there because of that and along with good prices. I normally get good service at that location but was let down Friday. I wanted to buy a bus pass using my debit card and it was not working. Clerk was abrut told me there was something wrong with my card and there was nothing he could do. I used that same card in other business in the West-end without a single problem.I phoned my bank and they told me they heard similar things from other customers. I favor this LD over the one down on Granville 'cause even though it is smaller, they have my item in stock which is much appreciated especially since I have some dietary restrictions and need certain items without compromise. The service is always hit and miss and most times they seem stressed 'cause it is one of the busier of the downtown locations. Prices are the same as any other LD. Most don't shop here for holiday items, therefore, the day after the 50% off on holiday items aren't as picked over as other locations. Candy from the audio/ electronics department provides the best customer service anyone can ask for! I went to the store to get a SIM card for my mobile phone. She helped me from selecting the provider to activating the plan, and verifying that I was able to get voice and data access. When I was not able to get data access, she went through the pain of calling the phone company. She was extremely patient and professional while doing the troubleshooting. When we concluded that the SIM card could not work on my phone, she helped me work through getting another from a different phone company. She helped get my SIM card activated and working through another long process while encountering hiccups along the way. She was still very patient even though I had taken almost 2 hours of her time! The store was busy, yet she was able to handle inquiries from other customers at the same time. I felt like I was in good hands, even though the process was daunting. Candy was able to satisfy a customer's needs by going an extra mile. I would most certainly visit this store again. Every employee at the store was friendly and helpful. Thank you Candy! If you think this is just a drug store, think again! This place has nearly everything. And they have awesome sales. I just bought an HP laserjet printer -- yes, laserjet -- for $79. Regular price: $199. Just last night I almost bought it for $99 there. Today, there was this manager's special, so I snapped it up. If I had bought it yesterday, they would have give me $20 back under their 30-day price guarantee. I bought binoculars there a few weeks ago for $119, regularly $179. On the register, they rang up as $119, but these employees actually have brains of their own and can fix problems like that. The cashier said it's rare that the register would have the wrong price, and I agree. What really amazes me is that the employees are really knowledgeable in their area. I asked a lot of questions to the electronics guy, and he was able to answer them all. And, judging from his answers in areas I'm familiar with, he knew what he was talking about. They also have good sales on food, such as large bottles of V8 for $2.99 last week. I used to live in the states, where I loved Walgreens. This place has a better selection of goods than Walgreens, and the staff is much more friendly. I might sounds like a London Drugs evangelist. Living abroad, you discover that drug stores are great places to get to know the local customer, since it's a universal daily need to visit a convenient mart. London Drug was a great example of a beautiful city's cool drug store. I purchased, Green and Black's chocolate, and Klorane shampoos and was very very pleased. Best customer service I've ever had. I was about to upgrade to a new camera and had questions about whether to get a new one or a used one. I was meeting someone to look at their used camera but before I did, I checked London Drugs to see the quality of a new camera. Nick from Electronics/Photography helped me out and let me take some shots with the Olympus OMD EM-5 Mii and I told him I was going to see a used Mi later. Since it was used he told me to check very carefully, he gave me amazing tips on how to evaluate the camera and what questions to ask. Nick was so nice, super helpful and very knowledgeable! He actually cared about what I needed without trying to sell me something. He also gave me some sites to check out to see the quality of the two cameras. Honestly, best customer experience I've ever had, got so much great help and I feel like I can make a better decision on choosing cameras now. Props to London Drugs for hiring great people!
