Shopper's World - Shopping Centers Near Me - Framingham, Massachusetts

Shopper's World offers you lots of great shops including some off price retailers. The parking lot here is always crazy... during Christmas time coming here can be more than a mission! It is located in a great location on Route 9 and offers 6 restaurants ranging from sit down to grab and go and also a Starbucks. Michaels, the Paper Store and B&N all in the same plaza is a win for me! read more

Obvy, the -1 star goes to the parking situation. Or rather, no parking situation. No matter when you go (unless it's when the stores are all closed and even then...) there are no parking spots within a mile radius. One day the first spot in front of the store I was going to was free - I cried for five minutes before I shifted into park. I still tell that story. Barnes & Noble with Starbucks - Great bookstore, huge selection, nice journals. I could spend hours here. The Starbucks is smallish and they give you the stink eye if you're ordering large amounts of drinks for the office. Old Navy - huge, updated store. I'm in there all the time. TJMaxx & Marshalls - their Home Office is just down the street, so these locations are AMAZING. Always super clean, nice fitting rooms, the best merchandise and the most updated fixtures. Nordstrom Rack - the most recent addition. Haven't been, can't afford it. Dick's Sporting Goods - it's big. It's got pink hockey tape. AC Moore - I've spent many a lunch hour wandering the aisles here. Their yarn selection is meh, but if you are crafting up some DIY stuff, there's no place better. DSW - I've found some great shoes in here. It takes hours to wander the whole thing, and their clearance section is awesome. Joe's All-American - according to my boyfriend, they make the best chowder in a bread bowl. I've had a good reuben there. John Harvard's - they make their own beers. The food is ok, but they make their own beers!!! Toys R Us - I've been there during Christmas madness. I made it out alive and for that I'm thankful. Logan Express - for $12 you get a roundtrip ticket to and from Logan Airport. Service is every half hour in a perfect world. They really need to do something about parking. It's even worse at Christmas, if you can believe it. read more

I love shoppers world. Right across the street is Loehmann's which if you read that review you can tell I love it. Shoppers world is the prefect place to head for Holiday Shopping- In the main drag you have: Borders Old Navy TJ's Marshalls Bob's DSW and many many more fab stores. In the outer areas you have The Natick Mall which is huge and great Target Home Goods EMS Kohls The Container Store- AMAZING Christmas Tree Shop(not a fan- but hey its there and loads of people like it) Jordan's Furniture its all there. Sometimes its overwhelming if you are not in the mood to shop-but if you're ready to shop like a pro- head here. read more

Living in Westwood, University Station recently opened. It is somewhat in close comparison to Shopper's World. But, I still will prefer to shop at Shopper's World, for infinity. It's located in the Golden Triangle, straddling the Natick / Framingham border along Route 9. It has some major advantages and is one of the 2 best shopping centers in this area (the other being the Natick Mall, a block away). Before discussing advantages, I would like to point out my gripes. Yeah, I love Shopper's World, but basically everything in the world has downfalls, and currently Shopper's World has two MAJOR downfalls. First is the history. Shopper's World was set to be the first shopping mall in the world, but made the second. It still should be the same, interesting mall to this day, and should never have been ripped up to shreds like it was. The other downfall of Shopper's World is the walking setup. It's an outdoor atmosphere, and University Station in Westwood made their shopping center extremely walkable without any space for danger, without a crosswalk, or speed bump (the only advantage to University Station). Currently, at Shopper's World there is no place to cross by Joe's Bar & Grill to get to the DSW side. Additionally, some crosswalks are always busy with cars and never easy to actually cross, while their SHOULD be a speed bump there! Anyway, now for the advantages. HUGE parking lot. Guaranteed to find a spot any time of the day, any time of the year (no promises on how far you may need to walk though...). Great assortment of places to shop (list below). Easily accessible. Main entrances accessible via Route 9 (Worcester Road), Route 30 (Cochituate Road), and Shopper's World Drive. Besides crosswalk areas, great shopping center to walk around at any time of the year as sidewalks are large and there are some covers around the complex. As a transplant from southern suburbia, I love the convenience of a place like Shopper's World. There's just something about name brands at crazy-low prices that makes me feel right at home. When I came out to Shopper's World, I hit Nordstrom Rack and Marshall's. I had great luck at both places (gray patent t-strap heels for $20?!?! Oh whaaaaat!). Again, the great thing about Shopper's World is the convenience of having all those stores (like DSW, TJ Maxx, and Kohl's) in one place. If you can manage to take a day off from work in the middle of the week to head out to Framingham and shop, all the better. Yes, it takes some serious shopping stamina, but it's well worth it. You can avoid the crazy Saturday crowds and actually take your time looking. Set yourself up for success, and you'll definitely walk away with a few bargains. read more

Shopper's World really has something for everyone. It's perfect one-stop shopping, for just about everything except clothes. We're always there, stopping at Linens & Things, Barnes & Noble, PetSmart, and cutting through to get over to Target & The Container Store. I grew up down the street from Shoppers World, I spent my childhood going to Shoppers World. You, my friend, are no Shoppers World. In 1994 Shoppers World, one of the first malls in America, was torn down. It was a beautiful, open air, two story mall. In the summer there were train rides around the inside for children and in the winter there were live reindeer to accompany Santa and the gigantic Nutcrackers.It has since been replaced with a parking lot surrounded by stores and finding parking can often be compared to gridlock on the LA highway. There's nothing wrong with the stores, they're all well and good, but this blasphemous parking lot claiming to be "Shoppers World" is a horrible testament to what America stands for. Oh, something historic has gotten a little bit old? Let's tear it down! You want to see the real Shoppers World? Go into the T.G.I. Shopper's World is a good place to go if you are looking for a deal and have time. They have a bunch of bargain shopping places- TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Bob's Stores, DSW Shoe Warehouse. I also like going to the craft store (AC Moore) there. Its located near a bunch of popular restaurants, namely John Harvard's, TGI Friday's, and Olive Garden. But these places get really busy at dinnertime on the weekends. read more

This used to be a mall, so I will include it in my mall review list. I totally agree with Jonathan's review below. I also grew up right around the corner from this place. My first picture with Santa was here. my first make out kiss was at the movie theater that used to be here. It was a great mall with a nice courtyards. ahhhh the memories.... Ok, so they torn down my childhood and took away everything interesting about the place, made it into a bunch of strip malls surrounding a chaotic parking lot. Did this make any sense? Not to me. Now, I want to go to 3-4 stores but I swear they are all on opposite sides of the parking lot. I'm not so lazy that I will get in my car and drive to the other side, but damn it it sucks carrying bags and bags of crap with you back and forth. I will say the stores are good, but found in every shopping center in any other town. I've rarely been on a weekend but when I do go it's baby central! You'd think there was a daycare around there or something. I mean I like babies and all, but seriously?! That babies R Us store is a good one, and then you can eat at Joe's American Bar and Grill next door, or walk across the parking lot again to John Harvard's Brewhouse, both decent restaurants with plenty of booze to distract you from the constant cries of all the babies and housewives. This place is huge and amazing. You really need to have LOADS of time because you can easily get caught up in a store for a few hours. I was in here for about 4 hours yesterday and only got to 3 stores. I was pretty wiped out. I can honestly say that everything in my house was bought from a shopper's world store, Christmas tree shop, walmart, khols you name it. Most annoyingly and stupidly laid out mall (esp. if you remember the original SW) but I am forced to come here by DSW, B&N and the pet super-duper store. And now the Rack, darn it. Give up, park near the unpopular stores and get a good walk in. read more

Everything you need is probably available at Shoppers World. I prefer shopping here over the nearby Natick Mall. Easy accessibility and plenty of parking. A few reviewers here talking about tough parking. That's true at the holidays, no doubt, but what shopping in the Boston area is pleasant and easily accessible at the holidays? This place is nice to look at to kill time, I find most of it besides Toys R us and Barnes and Noble to be out of my price range though. I was not born around here so I don't know anything about how the original was like. I most likely was not born when they tore that down. I like the way it is now. This "mall" has a large selection of stores, mainly the big ones like Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Marshall's, Toys R Us, and etc. This place has a Starbucks as well, not a fan, but for all you fancy coffee drinkers. I mainly come here for Chipotle once in a while. Otherwise, nothing really exciting to do here. There's lots of parking, but it's always pretty much full. Disappointed. I went to Kohl's last night to return. There was a gentleman counting money who said he would be right with but it was taking a long time. Another man came over and immediately started doing somethin with envelopes that were on the counter. He just ignored me. Finally a lady came over to help me. If not for her, who knows how long I would have stood there waiting to be helped. I have a bad back and you could see I was not having fun standing there. The two men did not seem to want to wait on me. It was 9:30 PM and there was hardly anyone in the store. I was the only person at the customer service counter. read more

Ever since they ripped down the old "historic" (one of the first malls in the US) Shoppers World I visit this place as infrequently as possible and only out of necessity. Oh, the memories of the Old Shoppers World. We do love the Wrentham Outlets for at least something close to what the old Shoppers World was like. A place to go on a warm day for a nice walk and shopping. The only thing that keeps us coming is the stores in which one visit can knock off a lot of family errands from the Toys R Us to the Old Navy, Best Buy and Borders. There are also some great restaurants in this mall including TGI Friday's, Olive Garden and John Harvard's. Parking sucks... unless you like walking a mile clad with children and baskets of goodies (although you do find this at most malls on weekends and holidays). Three stars for the great selection and variety of stores and restaurants. Other than that, nothing near as special as what once stood at that site. read more

Typical strip mall, huge parking lot, once upon a time had the only legitimate Babies 'R Us in eastern MA I'm aware of. Meaning a separate store, not just an adjunct in a corner of a Toys 'R Us. And "stand-alone" Babies 'R Us are still on the rare side around here, making it still likely the only one convenient for a great many. (And possibly causing the other reviewer's comment about all those babies?) Decent Barnes and Noble, though less so than it used to be, since it seems they've sacrificed a huge chunk of their floor space to pushing Nooks. When it first opened, I recall the Best Buy as seemingly only employing a huge group of arrogant twits, but that their customer service has improved considerably over time. Never been in that shoe place. All those groups of middle-aged ladies, heading in and out, searching for values like sharks sniffing for chum. Far too scary for a lone male who's not really all that into shoes in the first place. And who learned long ago to keep clear of modern day maenads indulging in some sort of mysterious, frenzied ritual. In fact, I'd advise not even parking down that end. Your car will only thank you. ***** Apropos of nothing: FWIW, I'm a bit befuddled by the nostalgia for the "old" Shopper's World mentioned in other reviews. The harsh reality is that the place had become a dump by the time it was torn down, and that it had been in such a state for a while before. And I say this as someone who remembers when there used to be a supermarket on-site (it later was the space occupied by the Toys 'R Us), remembers Lauriat's stationery, Fixx's hobby shop, and knew the trick that you could climb onto the roof of Jordan Marsh via the curious brickwork on the facade. And actually did it once on a dare. (Is there anything quite as stupid as a teenage boy?) I can report that the view wasn't much, and that climbing down was a LOT scarier than climbing up. The roof WAS cordoned off at some point via an overhang of barbed wire. I guess it stopped the climbing, but it certainly gave the place a curious prison-like look in its last few years. (The first time I noticed the barbed wire I wondered if somebody had climbed up successfully, but had been a bit less successful on that descent that by some miracle I did manage. If so, I never heard the details.) Must admit I did like the way the Jordan Marsh bakery (yes, they had one) did macaroons. I've neither seen nor tasted their exact like since. FTR, they were flat, smooth and looked like oversized cookies. Nothing like the blobs with stray coconut shavings that seems to be universally associated with the snack these days. But, other than that? RIP, ye olde Shopper's World. Including those silly wooden solders that I believe were ultimately given to the town of Framingham. read more
