This is hands down the lousiest Shoprite, and honestly the worst grocery store I've ever been to. I'm a local, and I refuse to shop here anymore. First off, I'm not sure what another reviewer meant when they mentioned a "comprehensive bakery." That must be satire, or maybe they work for the store, because everyone I know agrees the fresh goods selection here is terrible. Online ordering? Don't bother. Every time I check in, it's at least a 10+ minute wait. I've had to call the store several times when it took 20+ minutes for them to come out. Bags are never separated properly (frozen tossed in with room temperature, raw meat on top of produce, meats not properly bagged with juices everyone in the bag), and it feels like a coin toss whether your order is even complete. I've had entire bags missing multiple times in the past 2 years. And the substitutions/out of stock situation is laughable. I'll be told 5-7 items are unavailable, then walk inside right after and see them on the shelves. That's not bad luck, that's lazy shopping or poor management. In store shopping isn't any better. The shelves are often bare, and I never leave with everything on my list. It's poorly run, poorly stocked, and the whole atmosphere makes it obvious why the place is never crowded. For comparison, I now drive a half hour to the Acme in Mays Landing instead of wasting 15 minutes coming here. Night and day difference: stocked shelves, reliable online ordering, fresh variety, and a bakery that actually deserves the name. Prices might be higher at Acme, but my sanity is worth it. Shop rite corporation should be embarrassed by this location. It doesn't come close to the standard of other stores in the chain or surrounding counties. Until they overhaul management, improve stocking, and take customer service seriously, it will remain a store to avoid. read more

Not sure who's out here giving this place bad reviews, but they clearly didn't try the chicken cutlet sandwich. It's the best I've ever had hands down. And I'm Italian, I know chicken cutlet. But I've never had it like that before. The place is spotless. Staff is everywhere, ready to help with whatever you need. I honestly don't get the negative feedback. I'm from Runnemede, NJ, and I thought our ShopRite was solid turns out, it's not even close. Also, side note: Hamilton must be hiding a modeling agency inside this store, because every woman I saw looked like she walked off a runway. I was stunned. One after another boom, boom, boom just gorgeous. Whoever owns that ShopRite? Yeah, they give a damn. And it shows. read more

Food fresh and packaged well. Workers are friendly and helpful. Store appearance has been upgraded and looks good. Prices are high but that's every where...Large variety and selection allowing for needs and choices to be met.. " one stop shopping ". read more

Absolutely love ShopRite! But the blonde manager needs to go! Not sure of her exact position in management there but can say she is horrible, hostile and rude. The way she speaks to her team and customers needs to be addressed. Giving a one star, all because of the experience I had with this rude manager. This is a nice ShopRite that is closer to me than Zallie's in Berlin so I may use it from time to time. Clean with a great selection and a lot of prepared food available but it still is second to Zallie's in Berlin for me. read more

Unfortunately, we have THE WORST Shoprite in the universe right here Hammonton. I never do a big shopping run there. I can't count the times when I've gone there with a list and found that 3 of the first 4 items I have listed they are out of stock. I end up leaving the cart where it is and I walk out. Fortunately, we have two Zallies Shoprites a little further away and it's worth the extra travel. They are always fully stocked. read more

The prices are not bad, but the produce is usually expired, in the process of expiring, or at the point of eat-it-today-because-it-will-expire-tomorrow. And apparently a health inspector is badly needed in some of the departments that deal with fresh food. I go to other Shop-Rites, and only use this one if it's a last minute thing I need. Avoid at all costs. This sorry excuse for a store screws up every order I make and doesn't return calls. One week they just didn't give us like 30 dollars worth of poultry and of course won't return messages. This week they gave us Manwich instead of a cake mix. The general public coming into any ShopRite for their food supplies need to realize that wearing gloves while shopping does NOT give you a free pass to touch as many items as you can...example it is very common for bacteria such as e-coli to be on bananas...& then if you go & have a "free for all" touching all the packages of prepackaged deli meats and cheeses, you have just contaminated those packages w e-coli!! Please help protect all shop rite employees and other shoppers & not just think of yourselves!! And please dispose of those gloves properly..thank you. read more

I was pretty disappointed with Shoprite today, I'm a regular weekly shopper there so naturally I went to their bakery department when I needed a birthday cake for my son's first birthday. We wanted a zoo/animal themed cake. Maybe cupcakes arranged like a giraffe or a lion cake. I didn't even get that far with my request. Spoke to a girl last night at the counter who had no clue and said to call in the morning. Spoke to the so called cake decorator this morning and was told they don't have anything zoo themed. I said okay then, and that was the end of the conversation. Apparently they don't need my business so I'm taking it elsewhere. Zero for enthusiasm and creativity Shoprite. A zoo theme is not that unusual. Wish I had more time to just make it myself! So frustrating. read more

Brutal customer service ~ except for 1-2 associates. They gab to each other while blocking isles, never greet you or ask if you need any assistance. Clearly there has been ZERO service training. I have 25-30 examples of missed opportunities, however it seems that management has accepted status quo. Too bad as profits will drop over time. Here's hoping a competitor enters the market. Also, it seems they don't care about their online ratings. I also would like to know who does the hiring? And, I would guess management/ownership has never been to a Publix....BTW, if an employee did greet me or recognize my presence, I would be shocked!!! read more

Getting better. What I like most is the new hot bar with Chinese food pretty good depends on when you go. If you want it good and fresh go between 1030 am to noon. After that they run out and it's definitely depleted! Also grate the rotisserie chicken and offerings of fresh dinners and sides. What's still bad? Service!! Half the time the self checkouts not working and if you go in the afternoon especially on weekends count on standing in long lines to checkout. Best time to go early morning 7 to 11 am! So overall some good changes but still not the best place to shop . Cheaper prices at Walmart across the street! read more

Great selection of gluten-free and dairy-free foods. They even have Vital Farms eggs! Store is clean and staff friendly. Lines not bad most of the time I get in and out fast. The produce is hit or miss and not always fresh. Better in the summer. The bakery is not the best, especially the bread/rolls although I do like their sourdough bread and the muffins are good. Sometimes end up going to Bagliani's for produce and bread. read more

Today 3/4/17 walked into Shoprite to purchase a bag of their fried chicken. To my dismay there isn't any , the chicken that is sounding ready , I'm being told is to fill orders ??? When did this change , now you have to place an order ?? So I'm told now I have to wait 30 mins . This is ridiculous it's a supermarket not fast food. This is very disheartening. read more

I have been to those top food markets that you might find in wealthier areas so I know what high standards are and yes, those stores do have associates that are always willing to help and the smiles come easily. I am just grateful to have a supermarket. The better chain food markets do not want to locate in the area and in the past they have been squeezed out by Shoprite. So why? I will guess that Shoprite understands that people around this area are more interested in saving money. So considering that saving money is the prime concern of most of the shoppers in the area I understand why the other aspects are neglected. After all I live in an area with no major food market at all so I am more appreciative. The reason that we are left with Shoprite is that the people voted with their pocketbooks and they voted for Shoprite. Hammonton does have a few family owned food markets that provide some alternatives. I say to the complainers.....it could be worse. read more

Really hate this shop rite. I used to go to Super Fresh but that's gone now. This shop rite has too much crap in the aisles and the customers don't seem to know where theyre going. Especially with the recent remodel . before that , they just seemed clueless. The cashiers are okay for the most part, I do agree with Mel P, that the there are some youngsters there but they beat the greasy haired fella with the untrimmed fingernails, acne and dandruff who is apparently the self appointed cashier king. As well as some of the grouchier older cashiers who really don't want to be there. The teenage boys are always chatting up the headband -adjusting little girls. They get flustered and either forget your coupons or forget to ring something up. At least it balances out. I still miss super fresh . For the 4 extra dollars I may have spent, I'd consider it money well spent . read more

After complaining probably 8 times about the Matchbox/Hotwheels displays all over the store torturing me and my toddler, I think that situation has improved; there are probably "only" 4 displays to be bombarded with in the store now, haha. Other than that, everything is still a mess- I bought rancid shrimp there this weekend, they don't respond to requests to carry certain items or flavors, the teenage girls working at the self-checkout podium are useless and snotty, you have to check expiry dates on boxes religiously, they are constantly out of stock on sale items by Tuesday(!), and you must scrutinize your receipt before leaving because there are almost always errors. I ALWAYS leave that store in a foul mood. Lisa and Karen at Customer Service do their best to make things right... and although oftentimes the meat dept cuts the steaks and chops too small for my liking, there is one particular butcher at this location who is both personable and knowledgable and will happily lop off a chunk of meat to your specifications.. I wish I knew his name. Aside from these 3 gems, this store is the worst and really needs to get its act together. There were recent management changes and I anxiously await some positive results. read more

I placed an order for a catered brunch package. I had several calls from Regina Clark about the order just be be sure it was right and where to come for picking it up. Everything was fresh, done right on time, well packed and presented to me. All of our guests were delighted with the freshness everything and how wonderful the Lox and bagels were!! A big thank you to everyone at your bistro, bakery,deli, produce, and dairy departments for their kindness and efficiency. That store is fortunate to have such dedicated employees read more

Very nice deli but day old sandwiches should be marked as such. This is the only Shoprite I am aware that sale day old sandwiches. Why not sale only fresh made sandwiches made daily, discount them around 8pm, and discarded the rest a closing. This is what Shoprite in Berlin,NJ does and it seems to work. read more
