My diet is very restricted due to GERD and lactose intolerance. It's frustrating to find foods that are safe for me to eat. Sometimes I also need to find low or no sodium, and low or no sugar products for my family, even more frustrating, so I make my own homemade bread, pancakes, cookies and etc. However, sometimes I don't have the time to spend preparing and baking my own foods. And, I also crave foods that I can't make at home such as cereal and milk. I just made calls to various supermarkets which are located close to my home to inquire if they had a certain brand of vegan bread. I predicted from past experience that the answer would be no, and I was right. My last call was made to ShopRite, as usual they carry the product that I was looking for. If there was a 0, i would have choose it. The SR store on RT 112 in Patchogue , has got to be the WORST SR store i have ever been in. You need to replace the MGR, "would love to see his resume". I'm not sure who the current owners are, but i would pay attention do this store...nothing on the shelves, it doesn't matter what time i go there. i have found more than a dozens expired items on empty shelves. Im aware they are looking for help, however that's the MGRs responsibility, not the customers. The parking lot alone, looks horrific and ghetto, what is going on with this store?? I get delivery about every two weeks or so. I placed an order for meats and other things. When I received the order, there was a huge 9 pound pork loin instead of the 3 pounds I ordered. We're a small family so I called to report the error after sending an e-mail complaint. I did not get a reply so I called again. When I got someone on the line they argued with me and said no refund until "I" get the item back to them! I explained that they made the error, they have to come and pick it up. They refused to help in any way! I'm done with this particular location and going back to the Selden location who are friendly and helpful. read more

My son-in-law suggested I try Shop Rite. He shops there, so I did, and I love it. Bye bye Stop and Shop. I do pick up or delivery. One thing I love is that once my order is placed, a few minutes after, I get a call to go over what is out of stock and what can be substituted. Customer service is very friendly and helpful. Fresh produce is fresh produce. I occasionally get the rotisserie chicken, and it's always cooked just right. Delivery has been on time. I've ordered a handful of times. The driver is respectful of property and polite. I've also done some quick shopping in the store. The place is clean, organized, and has friendly and helpful employees. Went to the store for the first time in years could not find what I needed Went to customer service They sent us to the bakery for what I needed, The girl in the bakery didn't understand English so she walked away from me I called for a manager the manager neve came. A worker named Connor tried to help us he was very nice. I went to customer service and ask the girl to call the manager to customer service because he never came to the back. manager Rob came over and The first thing I said was I wanted to tell you about your employee Connor was very helpful, Rob did not acknowledge my comment about his employee. Rob was very very nasty now I know why the store is not busy and is very dirty. A couple of the employees made comments about him being a nasty person. He should not be running a store with the attitude that he has and the disrespect. I would suggest going to another ShopRite either Ronkonkoma, Selden or Port Jeff. This store has the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. Did an online order pick up and they substituted a few items, but all of those items were left out of the order when I picked it up. We realized it when we got home upon checking the order. Called the store and the online order department wasn't picking up so we called Customer Service and tell them that that department was not picking up and what do they do? They transfer us to that department, knowing that they weren't picking up. We called back and rather than Picking up the phone at Customer Service, now that they saw our number calling they picked up and just transferred without even saying anything. We called repeatedly without having a person pick up. I had to private my number to get them to pick up the phone and I asked for a manager who was the rudest person I've ever spoken to in my life. The guy told me I had to wait until the morning for the manager of the online order Dept to help me. I explained that it was all probably in one single bag that was left back there on accident and he said yeah, I'll be there and hangs up the phone on me. Fortunately, there was a very nice young lady working in that department when I arrived, and she was able to help me out. The manager walked into the back, saw me, saw the woman helping, and rather than say hi sorry about the inconvenience, he turns around and walks away. Extremely unprofessional and not worthy of being in Customer Service. The Jantzens own a few ShopRite's and they typically run a tight ship. I think they would be disgusted with the sort of attitude and behavior amongst their employees, especially a store manager. Shameful. Think it's very unsafe to keep the gluten FREE bread with all of the regular bread. Kept in a plastic bag that's very easy to rip or not it's a health and safety risk for people with celiac disease. Along with that I noticed your sections for Gluten free didn't have just gluten free and if someone didn't realize that they could have gotten very sick. Shop rite doesn't have much competition from that scary path mark next door, but man are the lines outrageous, and employees hit or miss. I go late at night to avoid lines, but if you need something quick this isn't the place for you, no self checkout and the lines are always a mile long, they have never once had more than 5 registers open, and they aren't strict enough when a customer rolls up to the express line with a trailer of food in tow. People complain about the deli counter but just make your first stop grabbing a ticket, go directly to get the meats you need, maybe grab a slice of you need, and come back to the deli and fresh produce are, check the board. If your numbers close, stick around, if not get your veggies and lighten up, you'll be called in a minute. Shop rite is fresh and conveniently located, even have some locally grown options which is nice. Wish they were more specific though. read more

Supermarket. Shoprite is one of the larger chains in the area and to me, they are an overall acceptable place to get your weekly groceries. This location is seemingly one of the busier spots- about the same as Penn station at rush hour. Lots of people jammed in the aisles. To be fair, the aisles are wide enough to accommodate the throngs and the shelves always have enough stuff - at least when I go. Another bonus is that there always seem to be enough people manning the checkout lines, so you can get out in relatively short order. Prices are mostly good- you obviously need to know what the normal prices are elsewhere and do your homework on weekly specials here and at the competitors. Huge parking lot with an interesting traffic pattern. All in all a good place to get groceries. read more

One of the worst grocery stores on Long Island. I gave this Shop Rite a few tries in mid 2020 when I first moved to the area because they had great deals. Unfortunately I could never get over the string stench of urine to come here regularly. After two years I hoped they straightened out and just tried them again. Still an overwhelming stench of urine. I grew up with Shoprite as my grocery store. I was very excited to see that my local grocery store when I moved to Patchogue. What a let down. So here are my problems with this store. The carts are usually dirty, like with trash and stuff in them. The whole store smells like nasty snatch. The produce is either lacking in selection or rotting. The cashiers don't know how to count money. I'm being serious here. The cashiers literally don't know how to add up coins. So, today I didn't need a lot from the store. I decided to order my cold cuts ahead. I get my cheese, thin option; ham, no option so in the notes I wrote "cut thin please". I should know better and check before I leave the store, but I didn't. Instead of it being thin I think it's a bit on the thicker side. I worked in a deli and I know that it's not hard to cut meat thin. I really want to see the manager of the deli dept tonlet him know the people that are working there need a lesson in how to slice cold cuts to the way a customer asks. The website on-line ordering needs to be fixed! I can't count how many times I have spent time making an on-line order, select a pick-up or delivery time, then for it to disappear on me. I went shopping at Shoprite yesterday . I bought quite a few groceries. The lady didn't know price of oranges, she called a manager . Meanwhile there were oranges, mushrooms, onion rolls and provolone in a bag that she forgot to. Give me. When I got home I realized the missing stuff. I went back to the store , everything was there but the provolone was missing . The managers were nasty and refused to allow me to get another provolone . I am out $5.00 and annoyed I had to go back to store to pickup my groceries without even an apology .i don't have the provolone for Christmas Eve and I refuse to buy another one. There were four people behind the counter and I had to wait because they were waiting on customers that weren't there! I never wrote a bad review but I am really annoyed with Shoprite of Patchogue. I went shopping this morning and the time was 8:30 a.m. There wasn't any meat available that I went for. Porkchops $2.49 but not on the shelf. Chicken Breast $1.99lb. Not on the shelf. London Broil Angus $2.49 lb. but not on the shelf. Chop meat 80/20 $2.99lb, but not on the shelf. Supposedly butcher there since 6:00 a.m. but he's by himself. It wasn't 7:00 a.m. when I got there. I got there at 8:30. By 9:00 I think the meat should be in the display cases. Especially since this is a day before a holiday. Hire a 2nd person. Cut the meat the night before and put it out 1st thing in the morning. People are there to shop. I was shopping here yesterday and while going about my grocery routine, I overheard 2 coworkers having a conversation. What I heard in this conversation DEEPLY disturbed and disgusted me to the point where I left my full shopping cart in the middle of the store and walked out. This employee was reprimanded by management to REMOVE his face mask because it had "black lives matter" written across it. Especially with what's going on in the world, why would you attempt to silence an employee, an employee of color no less, from expressing support for an entire race that faces systemic racism and heinous, deadly police brutality? And to remove the mask because management didn't want to "make customers uncomfortable"..? If the BLM movement makes them uncomfortable, it's safe to assume that equal treatment/rights for black people also makes you uncomfortable and those are the type of customers you don't want shopping at your store. I came in for a few items got what I needed and the lady double rang me up for an item so she needed a manager to punch in a number to void out the extra charge. Well after intercoming and calling different people includinga manager that was there said that she works at a different store and let's them do whatever as she strummed through a magazine she was reading. Not only did I wait half hour for them to figure this out I'm injured with a walking boot on, standing there in pain thinking this would be an in out thing. So then a customer asked the lady if her lane was open and she said yes just having some issues with the register. So he puts all his stuff on the belt and after 10 min of him waiting she says sir you need to go to another register and the guy said I asked you and the worker said I told you to go to another register! She ABSOLUTELY did not! I felt so bad for him as he was an elderly man. Then a gentleman named Matt helped us at his register and not only was he super nice he was super fast! But what a shit show... how does the manager leave the employees with no one to help them in a situation. read more

I wasn't expecting to see so many bad reviews. I've never had bad meat or issues with the milk. If you plan your trip you can place your deli order ahead of time and there's pre sliced options ready to go. Shelves are always stocked, it doesn't smell as others have claimed. Plenty of store brand options to save money and shopping from the circulars help save too. The employees are always nice, in 4-5years I've never had a bad experience. Busy yes, if you like being one of the only people in a store go later in the day after dinner. The store cooked food is entirely too salty though. So salty it's not edible. If I could I would give a zero star rating. Not only was there no selection in the meat department with various cuts of beef that were brown but they also have very rude sales associates. My family is having some financial struggles and had to take a total of seven items off our bill. So when our cashier who had no personality but was far from rude asked associate Colleen for a basket for the throw backs, Colleen asked in front of us out loud if we even bought anything and then walked away clearly displease that she had to do her job. Then when she heard we had asked what her name was she walks by us as we waited to speak with the Assistant Manager on duty she said it has two L's and two "E's". Never in my life had I been more humiliated. As a 10+ year veteran in retail as well as a teacher I would never have spoken like that to a customer and would have compassion because let's face it we all have hard periods in our life. suffice it to say we will no longer be customers of any Shop Rite store. read more
