I doesn't hours on Yelp resting reviews looking at different dentist in Columbia, Charleston and Charlotte. I'm beyond thankful i came across this office which had all good reviews so we scheduled an appointment and they got him on immediately. Our office experience was being amazing everyone was super hospitable, knowledgeable and acted with genuine care from the dental assistant , office manager Lauri and Doctor Marshall himself! They have taken such great care to alleviate the pain he was in and create a care plan to help improve both of our oral health. If you are in our near Charlotte search for a dentist choose this office. They will not disappoint! This kind of care and personable experience needs to be across the board from providers, sad that it's so rare to find doctors who actually care about you but we are beyond thankful for Doctor Marshall and his entire staff!

I originally went…read morein for a routine cleaning, but instead of a normal visit, I was handed a long list of supposed issues with my teeth and told I needed a "special cleaning." On top of that, they tried to pressure me into scheduling a wisdom teeth removal for the very next day, which immediately felt rushed and unnecessary. Trusting my instincts, I sought a second opinion from another dentist, and, unsurprisingly, none of what I was told was accurate. There were no urgent issues, no need for any special procedures, and certainly no reason for immediate surgery. It felt like I was being pushed into expensive treatments I didn't actually need. To make matters worse, they attempted to get me to pay over $8,000 upfront. During my visit, the dentist also made me extremely uncomfortable by repeatedly touching me, including my chest area, while speaking to me. This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. The only positive part of my visit was the woman who assisted with my X-rays. She was kind, professional, and made me feel at ease. After deciding not to move forward with any of their recommendations, I called to request a refund for appointments I had scheduled in advance. What should have been a simple process turned into a frustrating ordeal.... it took four phone calls and over a month and a half to finally receive my refund. Overall, this experience was stressful, uncomfortable, and deeply disappointing. I would absolutely not recommend this office to anyone and will never return.

RUN!!! I switched to this office because they accepted my…read moreinsurance. I only needed a simple crown replacement on a tooth that had zero issues for over 10 years. After my appointment, I spent the next five days in excruciating pain--pain I never had with the original crown. When I called, I was brushed off and told that "pain is normal after a crown." I had to push just to get another appointment. I saw Dr. Gephart, who gave me the same line... until I insisted something was wrong. After finally examining the tooth, he discovered the crown wasn't sealed properly and that there was a gap exposing my root. His solution? Remove the crown and redo it. So now I'm terrified, in pain, out $1600 out-of-pocket, my insurance already billed, and I have to go through the whole process again. I took more time off work and had the crown redone. On top of it, they billed me for the new crown, which I refused to pay for. Fast forward two months: I'm eating a piece of bread and the crown falls off. Again my root is exposed and I'm in severe pain. I called the emergency number--only to be told no one could see me and to "call Monday." I was flying out of the country Monday morning, but still no effort to help me--not at this office or any Smile Generation location. Overseas, I found a dentist who was shocked that a crown had fallen off after only two months and that my root was still exposed. I had to pay again to have it put back temporarily. When I returned, I called Modern Dentistry and was told the soonest appointment was 10 days out. Only when I said I would write a negative review did they suddenly "find" something sooner. At that point my trust was completely gone, so I cancelled. I've now had three major issues with this crown, I still have root problems, and the crown still does not fit correctly. And now I'll have to pay another dentist to fix everything I already paid this office to do. I will absolutely reaching out to the Board of Dentistry as well. Save your time, your money, and your pain. Go anywhere else.
