She was able to make several suggestions for additional pieces of furniture that we were looking for and thoroughly explained everything, from the purchase through the delivery process. We took her card, and are interested in going back to pick out other smaller furnishings that will go with the rest once we have an idea of how everything will look in the house; overall, a great experience. read more

My husband and I went into Ashley today just to "casually look" for a new bed for my son. When we arrived Dwight came and greeted us with a big smile. He showed us a few beds and the conversation was flowing . We ended up getting an entire bedroom set and a new sofa and ottoman for our living room. We honestly just wanted to buy everything from him because he was so pleasant and such a hard worker. I was on my lunch, so asked how long sale price was for. The sales associate Maryann ( who stated she has been with Ashley for approx. 18 years) asked her manager who stated until 12/8. She gave me her hours , so I could come back when she was there. I returned today ( 12/5) to order the table ( she was off Wed & Thurs). Told no longer on sale, Maryann stated her fault she misinformed me. Went to her manager Juan who after allegedly asking regional to honor price, came to me "sorry, doesn't matter I was informed incorrectly they will not honor sale price. This is NOT a new store. Walked into Ashley's today to buy a new couch. Was so excited to purchase the Lyndeboro after browsing for about 35 minutes. Once Masood gave me the price, I eagerly said okay let's do it. I asked him to write it down for me after I said "sorry, I'm not good with numbers." I'm dyslexic and needed a visual- he was throwing a lot of numbers at me. I simply just needed to see it on paper! He said "no, we don't write down quotes," in which I responded with "I don't need a quote I just need to see the price for everything laid out for me." I was SHOCKED when he said "nope," put his hands in his pockets, and WHISTLED as he walked away, showing he could care less if he got our business or not. Would never step foot in there again. I cannot stress enough how unhappy I am with this company. We bought a house and went to Ashley to buy a couch, dinner table and chairs. Left with a decent deal and a promised delivery of all the items three weeks later. On delivery day, only the table arrived. After talking to customer service and driving to the location of purchase, the only response I get is, "somebody screwed up in the warehouse." No effort to try and get it delivered that day, the next day or day after that. One week wait to get the other items delivered because all the trucks are "booked" until then. Oh! And somebody has still yet to reach out and give us compensation for the error of some incompetent person in the warehouse. This company does not care about its customers. I will not stop letting people know on here and everywhere else how bad this company is to deal with. read more

f I could give ZERO stars, I would. My husband and I came to Ashley in search of a sectional for our home. We were met by Shawn, who offered his assistance. Two sales women were nearby, and barely looked up for whatever they were doing. We told Shawn that we were just doing some research and if we needed help, we'd let him know. Shawn then FOLLOWED US everywhere we went in the store..didn't say anything.. wasn't pushy.. Just FOLLOWED US. Downstairs.. upstairs.. around the corner... It was a bit weird, to be perfectly honest. I mean, we were pretty up front that we would let him know when we needed assistance. On the website, We had seen a particular modular couch that we were looking at... When we saw it in the store, at first, it didn't look the same.. wrinkled, flat, dirty... When I finally asked Shawn were the couch was that I saw online, it just so happened to be the couch we had already crossed off the list...the dirty wrinkled one. He said it was the "cloud dupe"... ummm... No, it definitely was NOT. My friend has one of those and it's GORGEOUS. Not a wrinkled, flat MESS. But that wasn't the bad part. The BAD part was this one old saleswoman who chimed in and said something to the effect of "You already saw it and didn't like it" with an extremely RUDE tone. I ignored her.. My husband and I continued to look around, and then I asked Shawn what the rub count was on a particular couch. He had NO IDEA what I was talking about. A RUB Count is a gauge to see how well the fabric should hold up.l after wear and tear...anything over 30,000 is preferred. He referred me back to the rude old lady and she had no idea either. My husband and I continued to look around and sure enough, there's Shawn LURKING...my husband politely asked him for some space, and that's when Shawn snapped at him.. "I'm just standing here" Well, that was it for me. I told him that he just lost a customer and he stated that he "didn't care because I was "rude"." Sorry, Shawn... that you don't know your job well enough to know what rub count is. You SELL furniture. You SHOULD Know. I, unfortunately, called him a rather nasty name and also called the cackling old women who were LAUGHING, nasty names as well. I can say that it's extremely uncommon for me to do that. All I have to say is WOW! I read some of these reviews and they are on point!! For $3000+ we had concerns about the couch the but was still in love with it, we asked the sales person about the reviews on the couch and she seemed to agree about the wear and tear on the couch over time. She then showed us a few other couches and on one couch noticed that the price was not what it was supposed to be so went to the manager and was with her for a while. We went and looked at other couches and was comparing the differences between the 3 that we had decided on, I then decided to ask the manager (Katie) about the other Ashley located in Edison NJ and right away she jumped down my throat before I could even ask another question, telling me my wife she yelled at her sales person about the reviews( which the sales person said wasn't true) I was completely taken back from this and I said I'm sorry I'm sitting here trying to decide on what to buy and I feel like you're attacking me! She says well go review a another place then, go to the Edison store the manger over there is a real great guy ( sarcastic) you guys don't want to buy anything all you want to do is complain about reviews, I said to her you are a manager?? Where is the professional?? And again she said you guys can leave and go to another Ashley store because we are independently owned. Customer service was very good. I met with Dwight, who showed me a variety of pieces for my living room. He asked pertinent questions, what I was looking for, home decor and budget. I was impressed by his knowledge of the pieces he showed me. I didn't purchase today because my husband wants to see before we buy. We will almost certainly be back. Our bedroom set delivery has been re-scheduled 4 times in the last two months and every time there is a problem with their Trucks breaking down.. ! Not only they break down, they do not even have the courtesy the call and give an explanation. I took time off from my work to stay home and wait patiently for our new bedroom set to arrive however, three months later still no furniture and No phone call. I have to be the one following up on them .. They had no problems taking my money in FULL Payment and trust me it wasn't cheap !! I'm done waiting around with no apology, no phone call.! Spent over $2500 on 11/10/21 for a dining set that came with a broken chair (they didn't even tell me it was broke and fixed with screw and white out to hide it!!), every screw that assembled the chairs and table were all loose as well. How do you give someone a broken chair that's not even fixed professionally?!?!?! Then my daughter buys a bedroom set that comes broken. Over $4,000 in furniture here and they both came broken!!!! This dispute has been going on for nearly two years. A total of 5 disputes have been established between Ashley Furniture and their creditor Synchrony Bank with no resolution to date. Which now we are forced to take this matter to our attorney and possibly Channel 7 News. Not to be long winded - So we purchased our living room set from the Eatontown NJ. Store, Mgr. (Masood) The Crook! Stay away! Furniture came, didn't fit. Delivery guys left. We called mgr. back and he said, "come back in to pick out new furniture". Mgr. said we will trade 1st set (covered with blankets) when 2nd set comes in. IT NEVER ARRIVED!!!! After 4 months turns into 12 months. It was stuck onboard the container ships in California during (COVID). We cancelled both sets of furniture. Mgr. set up 2 scheduled pickup dates. Both never came! 2 yrs. go by with multiple complaints submitted. Calls to store managers to all stores, they never called back to find out he was transferred to the New Brunswick NJ store, then to Freehold NJ store and now back to Eatontown NJ store. Masood also fell short of several discount promises on these purchases and promised full refund!!!. And texted messages to prove our conversations! FYI - All mentioned stores are rating an "F" according to "BBB". So inconclusion our 1st set is still with us. My bill doubled and we paid it off because I'm done with this whole thing. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE AND FROM MASOOD THE STORE MANAGER. I've told all my friends and family. Me and my gf bought a new mattress and mattress protector and were told that if anything leaked thru on to the mattress it would be replaced and cleaned untill it was back up to 100%. This was false not only did NO ONE here have the number where I could place a claim ( cat peed on the bed) but after a week of hunting it down I was told be the mattress protector company that that's not their guarantee . So we were lied to when I happened to be back in the store and saw the saleswoman I was pretty much shrugged off. You would expect when a 2k dinning set comes damaged there would be some level of customer care. NOPE! The store branch refuses to help me, guest services is being non helpful or responsive, the main customer service number hangs up on me when I call. I wouldn't buy a pillow case from this company again. Still no one has reached back out to me after 4 weeks. The guest services department is a joke. Terrible Customer Service. If you want any sort of communication and furniture delivered in a timely fashion, do not buy from here... We purchased a couch, throw pillows, bed room set, and a large picture for our living room. Upon purchase, we were informed that the couch could be delivered that Thursday (5/30) and the bed room set set is back-ordered (fine). We had to call three separate times to confirm that the couch would be delivered on 5/30 and ultimately were told they couldn't make it happen (as they promised). Two weeks from purchase the couch and bed room set was delivered... Fine. I called after the delivery of the couch and bedroom set wondering where our large picture and throw pillows were. The girl at the receptionist desk told me that the sales person must have "forgotten" to put in the order for those as they had to be drop-shipped and "thank god" I called otherwise we never would have gotten them ($300 in merchandise)....... She told me she would call with a status update the next day and it should take an additional 3-4 weeks for them to arrive. Might I point out, we are already 2 weeks+ into this mess. The next day goes by and I don't receive a phone call. I call and she tells me that she still has no update. I call back again later in the week and speak with a different gentleman. He says "You have my word. Tomorrow. I will call you with an update." The next day, he never called. I called again today (6/12) and the same gentleman who said "You have my word," picked up and told me that he has been out for 5 days in the hospital.... I spoke with him yesterday... Then, he proceeded to tell me that their email systems are down and another sales person will reach out by days end. (Really?) Two hours later as I am writing this review I still have no update and no idea where my large picture and throw pillows are. If there was an option to leave "0 stars" I would have. Ashley Furniture is about as bad as it gets. I bought an absolute LEMON of a couch that was sinking within 4 months. You would think if you purchased as protection plan for 200 bucks you would be covered. Read the fine print on the protection plan, NOTHING IS COVERED. NOTHING!!!. They LIE to you on the sales floor that everything is covered. Then you have to deal with the protection company and deal with people like Wade McKenzie who make it sound like they are doing you a favor by sending replacement parts for a couch that you must assemble. Trying to call Ashley direct in impossible. Half hour wait times to get a recording that tells you they will call you back and never do. I'm so mad at this company that I contemplated sitting in the parking lot and warning others about my experience. Read through the reviews here. They are not joking. Horribly managed company and pathetic customer service is an understatement! We were told 4 weeks for delivery for a dining set. 6 weeks pass and not even a phone call to let us know it was delayed. Fast forward to 4 months later!...still no word on when we could even expect delivery. Only that the chairs were back ordered with no ETA. Makes no sense since they are supposedly the manufacturer! Apparently, their system doesn't notify them of back orders and they don't even take the initiative to run a report and call their customers. Finally, after I had to call several times, they gave us a delivery date. Here's the kicker...after 4+ months delay due to back ordered chairs, they shipped us the wrong chairs! Two weeks later we eventually receive our dining set that we waited 18 weeks for. Then after taking the time to calmly voice my dissatisfaction to the store manager, he makes an attempt at a "make good". He offers us a discount on an ottoman we were interested in, but we would have to go pick it up at the Linden store. A week later, I go to Linden...and guess what, they don't have it! Three weeks later...I eventually get a call telling me that all he can do is refund my money since corporate told him "it's not worth it" to do anything else. So, in summary, Ashley's will gladly take your money immediately, lie to customers about delivery estimates just to make a sale, not notify customers of back order updates, order wrong items and not even notice when the customer calls at least 6 times asking for eta, and can care less about taking ownership of and making good on their mistakes. Saleswoman who greeted us at the front right off the bat wasn't welcoming. I headed down from Middletown to this location to purchase a dresser for my new apartment. The woman at the front who also was the salesperson helping us out, continuously served us attitude and snappy answers. My mother simply asked questions of her that were normal buying questions, but she persisted in giving attitude. At the end of the day, we left, and we didn't buy the $700 dresser because of the sales experience. What a terrible experience with the staff of this location with the EXCEPTION of Nick who was the salesperson helping us. We came to this store specifically because it was much larger than the one only 10 minutes from us. We traveled about an hour to get there. We were greeted by Nick. We told him we were just interested in looking around - he respected that and said he would check in with us in a bit - he did. We just purchased a 5 bedroom house in Freehold - so we need a lot of furniture and accent pieces. As we were walking around, I saw a staff member way in the back of the store on a couch with her legs up and on her cell phone - as we approached that area she got up and left. We didn't see anything we liked. We went in the big screen to see some dining rooms. There was one we liked. Nick said it was upstairs. We saw it and loved it. We were ready to purchase it. It was the day before a big sale and were told we would get the sale price. We also saw another piece that Nick said was discontinued but he could give us a great price on it if we bought it. Before Nick gave us his numbers for the set he went to speak to his manager. Well, Nick came back and was telling us the numbers. His manager came - she was the woman hanging out on the couch - she came with attitude!! She priced us at $799 for that discontinued piece. My husband asked for a better deal she then took it to $699 but then said we would have to pay for delivery which would be $200. We went back to look at it and I saw a little damage at that point I was a little upset. As we sat with her she said things like, "I'm the manager, I can do whatever I want." "Don't mess with me I'm from Brooklyn." And my husband made a point to say our last home had a complete living and dining room from Ashley. We just found one of our end tables on Amazon much cheaper than the store. In disgust she said - I would never buy any furniture off Amazon. Huh? It's an Ashley piece. We explained to Nick and her that my parents were buying the set for us but we wanted to purchase the other piece ourselves. We decided to go get a quick bite to eat before we went back. My parents actually wanted to see the piece too so we decided to just go back the next day. I called Nick to let him know we wouldn't be coming back but would the next day to finalize. We asked again if there was any room in that price bc we didn't notice the slight damage at first. He said he would reach out to his General Manager Mark to see if there was anything he could do to help us. We absolutely appreciated that. Saturday morning Nick called and said his manager would do $525 for that piece. We quickly said we would take it and if we could pay over the phone or at another Ashley store. He said no, and if we went to another store he would lose the sale. We didn't want that to happen so we said we would travel the whole way to pay for it in cash or on CC. At that point, my parents were going to go to a local store to see the set and give us final approval but we didn't want to lose that specific piece. The manager then gets on the phone and said he would not sell us that 1 piece at the price without the whole purchase. My husband said wait, no one said one was contingent on the other. We explained to him that our parents would be purchasing for us and we needed their approval but we wanted to buy that one piece immediately and again said that we would travel the hour to that store so Nick would not lose out. He kept insisting he would NOT sell it to us!! He kept saying well it's discontinued so you can't find it anywhere and I won't sell it separate. My husband explained that we would be traveling an hour to make sure Nick got the sale so what was the problem. The Manager was rude. Well, he pushed us to the edge. We called another Ashley store in Toms River and spoke to a great salesperson who had the exact piece and guess what??? We got it for significantly lower!!! We paid by cc on the phone and went to pick it up within the hour. We felt terrible that Nicks manager ruined a big sale for him. How could managers run stores like this! To strong arm a customer who is specifically saying they are not purchasing the piece but it is a gift and want to do it as a separate transaction. How disgusting and outright RUDE!!! I would never ever in my life go back to that store or deal with those "'managers". They should go for leadership and customer service training! read more

Unfortunately I can only give one star due to the employees that we dealt with the day of the purchase. However I will never be going here ever again or any other ashley furniture. In the beginning of February We ordered our bed set with matching dressers and night stands. As well as some furniture for our living room. We received a call the following week that our furniture has been set up for delivery for the only day we could both take off and that they were available to deliver. They call us the night before to tell us that they can not deliver the next day and don't have our bed in stock and it will not be ready for another 1.5 months. I was enraged to say the least. They tried to BAIT AND SWITCH us to go to a more expensive full bedroom set. So yea come in but what you want , we don't have it but how about this more expensive set now They continue to say that they can not be held to the day that the automated phone call stated. (Slick attempt) however when I stated no less than 10 TIMES to customer service that we spoke to a human being and they confirmed the day, they continued to argue that it was automated. Nice attempt to belittle me, even though it was a person I had a full fledged conversation with. We took off for the day so we were losing money ourselves for a no show. After much and I mean about 2 hours and 5 supervisors later of arguing they took off $200 after I told them that I will be billing them for lost wages for the two of us for the day since they failed to hold their end of the delivery. They then state that they will send a "loaner" bed to us with our furniture that was MAGICALLY FOUND. And that we would receive our bed the following month , first week of march. Within the first day we went to open the one side night stand and the metal handle snapped like plastic. We call and they stated they will send out a new one. They sent that handle to the wrong address. They have now sent 3!!!! THREE !!!! Separate HANDLES TO THE WRONG ADDRESS . After we corrected them each time and had them read the address back to us 3 times each time to confirm it. As far as the bed set. It is now 6 months waiting for it and numerous calls and being told the GM and everyone under the sun will call us back. Last one was 3 weeks of waiting for a call. GUESS WHAT?! THEY NEVER DID ! Shocking Now we call yesterday again and they state they have sent out the handle yet again and oh they FOUND OUR BED SET after yet again stating they didn't have it yet. Set up delivery with a person yet again. So this should be good. ZERO COMPENSATION for 6 months of aggravation Never again from these people. Staff is argumentative and belittling. What could have been a great experience from a furniture store is now headed into a nightmare. Went into this location on the 5th and ended up making a purchase of over $3000. When doing the paperwork, I noticed they charged me delivery of $149.99. They said that because of the price I got, they couldn't waive delivery. I've never paid delivery for furniture before and should've just walked out, but I liked the furniture so I went on with this. Was there over 2 hours and my newborn son and 5 year old daughter were getting hungry and antsy so I rushed through paying at the cashier. When I got home I saw a warranty on the invoice for $229.99 that I never said I wanted nor was told a price on. They snuck a warranty into the purchase! Delivery comes on the 19th, only to find that one of the pieces, a sectional couch, was ordered in reverse! We explained to them when we were there exactly where we wanted the chaise and the couch portions. Customer service called me and said they would be taking this one back and sending us the correct sectional in week. I call customer service last night, the 24th, and wasted 29 minutes to be told that nobody from the store has processed any paperwork for getting us the replacement couch! They also said that the earliest delivery for it would be at least April 5. What happened to a week? Now I have a basement entertainment area with no couch for guests to sit. I couldn't have people over last weekend because of this and who knows when a new one would get here. I have no trust with this store anymore. If they had great customer service this would have never gotten to this point. Do not recommend using this private owned Ashley store once they knew we needed to ship furniture to another state they completely ignored us and wouldn't help us coordinate with the other Ashley owned store in that state. bought kitchen furniture 2 years ago, spent over 2300 for this beautiful looking furniture. The bar chairs are nice, but the cross bar at the bottom just came apart. It is no even a chair that is used alot. called the store and they gave me the guest service. No one could do anything about it after a year. I have chairs over 30 years old and they aren't even shaky. I see where Doug R. on 1/3/22 wrote something similar. Cheap quality for high price, finished paying them off, and will be finished purchasing from them. Now I will have to pay someone to fix. read more

I'm not even sure where to begin. This process has been the least enjoyable retail experience I have EVER had. My husband and I walked into Ashley's at the beginning of June. We just purchased a home and bought thousands of dollars worth of furniture at the Eatontown location. We thought this big of a purchase would warrant seamless customer service and delivery. Boy were we wrong. Do yourself a favor- if you're buying multiple pieces of furniture, go elsewhere. Ashley's cannot handle large volume orders. Period. Delivery was set for mid-June (2 weeks after purchase). Delivery day rolls around- no dining room table, no dining buffet (which I found out later was never even ordered), incorrect dining chairs, and damaged desk. Second delivery date is set a week after the first delivery. Once again- a mess. They delivered me an incorrect dining room table, stained dining chairs, and chipped desk. I am now setting up a THIRD delivery. I am nervous this one won't go well either. A feeling I should not have with a purchase of this cost. I am in awe of how this company is still in business. Communication between the showroom, customer service, and the warehouse is nonexistent. I will never purchase anything from this company again and will spread the word about our experience. Getting new furniture in your home should be exciting, instead this has been one of the most stressful parts of the home buying process. Never again. read more

Shopping for furniture is so stressful but Nick @ the Ashley's was great. He was very helpful & knowledgeable about the products sold in the store & was very attentive to my budget & needs. It actually took two visits to the store to make up my mind. His patience & kindness was very much appreciated. He went over and above to ensure that I was happy & satisfied. I ordered a kitchen table set and 6 chairs. Upon delivery I thought the table was wobbly and just thought that the legs were loose. I accepted delivery and was able to tighten the bolts where the legs attach to the table. Later I discovered the legs were still loose and thought they just loosened on their own. After further examination I discovered that each leg should have been secured with two bolts each and not the one bolt that was installed. First I called their customer service number and spoke to "Nick". Nick said I needed to take photos, email them to him, and he would rectify the situation. About two weeks later and several unanswered phone calls, Nick didn't come through and the table was never fixed. Next, I went to the Freehold Store which was part of the same franchise. I was told that they could not help me and I would have to return to the Eatontown Store because that is where I bought it. Thanks for the help. I returned to the Eatontown Store and spoke with the manager Michelle. Michelle spoke with one of their technicians that was working and he was able to locate and gave me four bolts which he thought would fit the table. They were helpful and professional but pretty much told me to "fix it yourself." I was dissatisfied that this was the fix and that I wasn't sure if the bolts would match the existing ones or even fit. Michelle said that she would order eight new bolts and mail them to my residence so that the table would be right. The replacement bolts never arrived. The bolts I was given fit the table, but I could have gone to my local hardware store and bought the bolts. New furniture should come complete and not been Frankenstein'ed together. The furniture came with a one year warranty which was not honored. Needless to say I will never shop an Ashley Furniture Store again. read more

The first time I walked in, the lady who greeted us wasn't the friendliest or most helpful. But we just went there to look around and get an idea of what we wanted. The next day, we returned to purchase a sofa and Ron greeted us at the door. He was MUCH friendlier and extremely helpful. He went above and beyond and answered all of our questions very clearly. I'd go back to Ashley Furniture in the future! read more

We stopped here as a last stop after going to 4 other mattress retailers when looking for a new mattress. Katie B. was very knowledgeable and patient with us and helped us find the perfect mattress that both fit our individual needs and our price range. She did not make us feel pressured whatsoever. Katie made the experience much less stressful. She was great! Mark the sales manager was friendly, informative and helpful as well. Overall a great experience!! read more
