She pulled her tool set out and proceeded to cut my nails. It felt clumsy, awkward and rough, like somebody who has been doing this job for a couple of days. The only thing I was hoping for was not to get the infection. The rest, I can handle. 15 minutes later - you done. $25 Yes, I left a tip $5. I have attached the photo of one of my nails after it was worked on. So you decide.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done. I brought a picture of What I wanted done and decided to try the place out for the first time. Throughout the nail process, I kept mentioning that certain things didn't look right but she kept insisting I wait until the end. In the end, my tips were uneven, the Acrylic wasn't on correctly on two nails, the shape was completely off, there was glue all over two of my fingers, she left a cut on my pinky, and my nails looked nothing like the picture. I voiced this and how it was all wrong to then be verbally abused by the woman there saying that I was wrong and it was all my own fault. This was horrendous service and I wouldn't recommend anyone to ever go here. I ended up filing down, reshaping and repainting my own nails that night. Don't come here. read more

I have tried to find many nail salons since moving to not only the Long Beach area, but California in general. Shore Nails by far exceeds in many areas compared to any other salon I have been to. Not only do they remember all of their customers; they personalize each experience, provide excellent service and results, as well as genuinely care about providing the best service for their clientele. I recently visited a nail shop in Belmont Shore as a walk-in customer. While the price for a basic mani-pedi was relatively cheap at $35, the overall experience left much to be desired. The nail polish collection seemed outdated, with colors visibly separated in the bottles. The application was subpar, as some areas on my nails weren't fully painted. Additionally, the shop was small and somewhat dingy. Given these issues, I don't plan to return. read more

Ive never had a poor enough experience with a business to feel the need to take time to go online and rate them a one star but I need to. It consists of a tiny storefront, where you pop open the screen door and step into a minute space filled with a couple of waiting chairs, two manicure stations and a spa chair for pedicures in one corner. The place is owned by two sisters, only one of whom was there when I went in to get my pedicure. Everyone working there was very friendly and very casual, and you can tell that no emphasis is placed on high volume. This is a mom and pop nail salon (or sister and sister as the case may be) that seems to focus on regulars and regular experiences: nothing out of the ordinary. The pedicure I received was fine (even though it was in a spa chair that I wasn't sure was cleaned particularly well before me) and the girl who worked on my feet was expeditious and kind, friendly and well-trained. However, the massage was more of a simple application of lotion, and I didn't really get the sense that she had much interest in me -- it was more about just kind of getting the job at hand done, and less about creating any kind of atmosphere or experience. Granted, and I try to be gentle here, since it's obvious that the shop doesn't go out of its way to present a chic, upscale presence - it's very quaint, and downhome, and for some, that's exactly what you're looking for. Me? I really need some more cleanliness (or at least a more vigorous, obvious attempt at it,) and a little more of an intro and description of the services available. After she was done with the tools she used, she just stuck them in a jar of barbicide, and that's just not really cutting it for me. There was no discussion about what kind of pedicure I wanted, even though I could see there were some fun jars full of salty-type scrubs on-hand, and she didn't ask if I'd been there before or how I'd come across it: all questions I'd certainly ask if I was interested in building a relationship with a new customer in the hopes that they would return. I think "unremarkable" is really how I'd describe this place above all else. Not much to take with me other than my pedicured toes. I do have to say too that their lotion is something orangy smelling and super strong. It was sticky sweet smelling and made me kind of nauseated from the sugary smell in the car. I'd recommend something a bit less pungent. Spa-chair pedicure: $21 + tip

She accepted two pedicures while I sat there waiting for her to finish my set, which resulted in her rushing through the process and applying my nails poorly - crooked nail, wrong sizes, nails not fully covered, in addition to lack of service. I wish I had said something in person or walked out, but I couldn't get myself to do it. I felt bad because while all this was happening, three girls walked in with an appointment and they had to wait until I was done (at least another 30 min). So to the person running this place, please do not say you can take an appointment when you clearly don't have the capacity.

I wish their hours were a bit longer. For example they are open normally 10-7pm. I am a morning person so I would have wanted to come in before 10am. And then the polish is going over the edges and on top of my cuticle which is a big no - no. I noticed my cuticles aren't even pushed back. There's also debris? I also got a pedicure but those are a bit harder to inspect. Although they look nice. 5. For the price of $99 + $10 tip to each nail tech = $119 I am not sure if it was worth it for being sloppy. For this quality of manicure I could have probably done it at home and save the money for another salon. I also inquired about acrylic and dip powder to find out that they don't do acrylic which was shocking that a nail salon doesn't do acrylic nails? And the technician who does dip powder was not in that day - to which I would think you had have at least one on duty the whole time especially on a weekend. 6. I did like that they take apple pay and the ease to pay with my phone. And they did say it would take an hour - which it did thankfully. I think everything considered it's probably a strong 3/5. In this economy I would really only like to spend my money at places I absolutely love. P.s. they have a no show/cancellation policy that charges you so I'd be weary giving them your cc info to have on file. I am big on not wasting people's time but 24 hour notice isn't always possible with emergencies. I would prefer a policy like 2-4 hours ahead of time - they also do open later at 10am so hoping that is not counted against the customer.
