These are my go to guys. They are reasonably priced (way cheaper than the dealership) and I always get quality service. They also don't squeeze business out of you. For example: my husband came in to get his brakes changed and some other maintenance. They came back out and said that the brakes look good, explained why they squeaked and ended up putting off the service until it was actually needed. I've seen them come out and explain to a variety of people with a variety of car knowledge what's going on and their options. I've never seen them dumb down a conversation. If the person doesn't understand they just explain it a different way (not making the person feel stupid) until they get it. They don't have to squeeze money from me. I will keep coming back and telling everyone how awesome they are. They will always have my business. read more

I love Shore tire for all my car needs. I'm a little biased since my cousin works here, but none the less, even when I've come here when he's (my cousin) isn't working, I am always treated with respect and kindness. These guys are very honest and aren't looking for ways to over charge you for everything under the sun. They're always good about telling you if they notice anything else that needs to be replaced, but there's never any "high pressure" salesman tactics. Never mind how I know this now , but if you find yourself with a blowout, Shore Tire has been quick and easy to deal with. I was particularly impressed with how they put the donut, jack, and miscellaneous stuff back where it goes in my trunk instead of just tossing it all in there for me to take care of later. My schedule was more difficult to arrange than theirs was. They accommodated me not knowing when my indentured servitude at work would allow me to get in there. These folks do NOT use a torque wrench or torque sticks when they tighten your lug nuts on your vehicle, they just use a 1/2 drive impact and hammer them all on tight as hell, so you will not be able to remove them with the tire wrench supplied by the manufacturer of your vehicle, it will take a large 4- way lug wrench or a breaker bar to get them loose, we checked the torque and they were torqued to over 225 ft. lbs. when torque should be between 110-130 ft. lbs. they said they don't torque them to factory specs, as they are afraid the wheels will come loose at the proper torque, which is pure BS, beware this will cause other issues with your vehicle, galded lug nuts, broken lug nuts, warped rotors, etc. This is the Shore Tire in Lenexa Kansas. read more

My car was pulling to the left, so I scheduled it for an alignment. After performing the alignment, the car still pulled to the left, so the technician swapped the front tires to check them, and found that the car was now pulling to the right. That meant that the problem was the tire, not the alignment. The technician provided me with the information I needed to take the tire to a corporate shop that could replace the tire under warranty. This place gives you great customer service every single time you visit and they will never try to take advantage of you. The owner Chris is a great guy who knows his stuff. As someone who knows very little about cars I often feel at the mercy of whoever I take my car to, just praying they do a good job and are honest. When my battery light came on and O'Reilly said it was the alternator I called the place who fixed my car after my accident to see if it was covered but it was not and they recommended Shore Tire. I looked at reviews and it seemed very promising. So initially they told me I needed a new alternator and battery and they replaced those. I came to get my car but within 30 seconds of leaving the parking lot the battery light came back on. That was disappointing but I decided not to jump to conclusions. I scheduled a follow up and they fixed the issue which ended up being a connection issue of some kind. Here's the shocker: without me asking anything they told me they were going to refund me for the alternator and the labor! Again as someone who knows next to nothing I feel like they could have gotten away with that one and not told me that I deserved a refund. I just felt so thankful for the integrity of these people. I know that will pay off for them as a business when they treat people right and have integrity to do the right thing. I've already recommended them to friends! read more

I took my Honda Crosstour to Shore to follow the regular maintenance suggested by my vehicle's system. Timing belt......The big kahuna maintenance item from Honda. Shore got me in quickly, got me a ride home and did all the work flawlessly. Timing belt, water pump, coolant, tire rotation, oil change. Shore Tire has saved us from ourselves so many times. When searching for an Odyssey in 2015, we brought in 5 different cars to Shore Tire to be inspected. All the cars stunk. Shore is going to tell you like it is. We've been customers for over 20 years. We trust them. I personally like their mechanic Mitch, but everyone there is exceptional. Everyone is respectful and kind. A bonus ... they are very reasonably priced. During our last car search we brought in a sedan. The car looked good but I wasn't sure. I'm glad I did! There was a long list of things wrong with it. Things that you would think are not possible when purchasing from a "so called dealer," like the 11 year old spare was on the front right tire. Or the cadillac converter had been cut out from an untrained idiot (my words not Shore's). There was rust everywhere, the back left power window wouldn't go up or down. The back left tire was on its rims and was dangerous to drive, the tank was empty so the mechanic couldn't test drive it. A couple of weeks later we brought in another car to be inspected. Yes they got tires in stock for me the same day, but I asked for 2 they talked me into 4. It was a different brand that had a rebate for a purchase of 4. The catch.... the rebate needed to be mailed in, this entailed scanning the receipt, going to Hancooks website, converting my PDF receipt to a JPEG document and continuing to apply on line for the rebate and then I would receive a $80.00 gift card in the mail. At the recommendation of a friend, I tried out Shore Tire today when I needed to replace two tires to be prepared for winter weather. I could not be more pleased with the service I received. I called ahead to make sure they had my tires in stock, which they did but had they not, they could have had them for me by the afternoon. It was a very busy day so I had to make an appointment for an hour and a half after the time I walked in, but that was no problem as I had holiday shopping to do in the area anyway. The actual service took less than an hour and I left driving a car that felt brand new after the adjustments they made. The people here are very friendly. There was a line when I arrived there but a guy who was very clearly on his lunch break (eating a really delicious looking philly cheesesteak sandwich, I must add) stopped eating and assisted me. He even ran out to my car to make sure we had the best tires for my car. He quoted me a price and unlike other places, my total bill came to that exact amount. Not the usual $10-15 more that I've experienced at other places. As it was the holiday season, they even offered me cookies as I gathered up my things to leave. I turned them down, but just like any good family owned business, they tried to insist in a kind way. My experience with Shore was great. I had to have two tires replaced on my car. Went in, they took my old tire, they went out and looked at my car to see what tires were need. They were polite. They were funny. They took my keys, called me a few hours later and I came to get my car. When I came back, they called me by name, wrapped up my transaction quickly. First off Tire rack has them listed as a recommend installer in my area. For some reason tire rack has a special fondness for them because they go out of their way to defend them. I say let the review stand on its own merits and let the consumer decide. Ok back to my experience, so I call to get an appointment to have them installed. A lady answered the phone and it sounds like I just woke her up from a nap. I asked to make an appointment and she tells me that they do not take appointments. Ok then, if I walk in how long is the the wait I ask. She tells me she doesn't know and it's first come first serve. Noticed one of the tires was losing air, so brought it into their shop. It was 1:15pm and was told not sure if they could squeeze me in due to having a full schedule. WHAT???? Came in for a tire rotation on a weekday morning. It was an hour wait or more. I think the staff saw my face drop since I had my young baby with me. They kindly tried to get me in as quickly as possible. I must've looked super rough because they gave me the rotation for free. I will definitely return, but with one caveat. As a previous reviewer said, the mechanics aren't the most mindful of their grime. When I left the shop, my car seat and car had grease marks on it. This was a bummer, especially after such a great customer service experience. I hope the business asks their staff to use covers more readily and next time I will put a towel down. read more

I've used Shore Tire several times and have not been disappointed. They are honest and very transparent in their estimates and work. For example, they checked my car's hoses and belts and came back and said they were fine. In contrast, some car shops would see this as an opportunity to nickel and dime the customer. Shore Tire just tells it the way it is and I like how they communicate with their customers-down to earth and real-no bullshit or cheesy upsell. I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation (free rotations since I bought the tires there). When they popped the hood, the small plastic hood release handle on the driver's side broke off. The thing is the car is really old, and plastic isn't meant to last forever, so it was simple bad luck that the handle broke that day. It could have just as easily happened the next time I released the hood. But they ordered the part immediately, let me know when the part came in, and fixed it for free. And it wasn't a super-simple repair - it required over an hour of their time. I offered to pay, but they refused. I hesitate to post this, because I don't want it held against them if a similar-but-different situation arises with another customer, where they don't think it's fair to make the repair for free. But I really appreciate that they took care of it. I think it's a nice example of their character as a business. read more

Amazing company! Our daughter's car was sporadically not starting. We got in that day and they looked it over. They found the connection to the battery was corroded and they fixed it. First they said it would be $15 then they said not to worry about the charge. Our 19 year old daughter took it in herself and they did not try to take advantage of a young lady and car issues. Had to come back three times bc of various issues that they could have called me about but never bothered to get my phone number. The 3rd time I sent my Fiance because I couldn't take any more time off work and they were rude to him. He found out that the do take appointments but lied to me saying it was only first come first serve. I called last week for a quote on a 2005 Focus, standard tire size of 205/50/R16. The gentleman on the phone quoted me $548 out the door for 4 Hankook Optimo 426/80,000 tires. I arrive at 7:30 AM yesterday to have them installed. I walk in the door, both of the men at the counter immediately pick up the phone...so I wait a minute or two until one is off (the one with shorter hair). No smile or salutation at all, just looked at me. I let him know I needed tires for my car, he looked in his system and said Hankook did not not make them in my size, which my tires are standard for that make and model, and had discussed this on the phone when I called I mean WTF? He tells me he has two others in stock that will cost more money and take at least 2 hours to install. Needless to say I left, I would never give them my money, EVER! I went to DLS on Broadway, they had tires in stock for $428 out the door (they did not have as great a warranty (Uniroyal 60 vs. the supposed Hankook 80), but whatever), and the service was much friendlier. This is where I will be going from now on. So much for using a 'family owned business'. read more
