I took a sweater in to have it cleaned. Very expensive sweater ($575) from A.K. Ricks on 28th St near Cascade. Went back and they had lost the sweater. Talked with ladies working the front, and with Duane, the owner twice. They refuse to make good on it. Did they lose it? Did they give it to someone else? Did an employee or Duane take it? Guess we will never know. Going back to my former cleaners, even though they are 20 miles away. At least they give me back what I give to them. Terrible dishonest people. read more

Took in a wool blanket for cleaning and it returned very pilled and hair still visible on it. Very expensive for just dry cleaning a jacket. I saw no prices listed in the store to know what the charges would be per item. Will not go back. read more

We have used Shoreline for several years now. We love the pickup and delivery services! They were picking up from my wife's office in Kentwood, and continued when her office was relocated to Grandville. Now she works in Cascade, and they pick up and deliver from our home in Alto. Good pricing, but I have switched to a more reliable cleaning service after today. This is the third time this year I have gone out of my way to pickup or drop off and was met with a sign on the door that they don't have staff to be open. Waste of time and not reliable especially if you want an item for the weekend or special event! If they aren't open you can get your clothes! read more

I'd give 0 stars if possible. I took a brand new white shirt to be laundered and pressed prior to my first official use. When I picked the shirt up it was visibly stained all across the front and the left cuff. It was then laundered again and while the stains less visible they were still apparent. Upon picking up this second time I was told "well it's better than it was at least". An unacceptable answer given that no shirt should be received back from the cleaner dirty than it was let alone a brand new shirt. I was told the owner would call me (over a week ago at this point) and still haven't heard anything. The employees lack of care attitude and the owners apparent lack of care for resolution after ruining a brand new shirt is a ridiculous. read more

Great for dress shirts and pants... But be warned; they will shrink your wool sweaters!! I have been a patron of Shoreline Cleaners for 6 months, and have decided to go back to my old dry cleaner. Here's my story... I began by taking in my fiance's dress shirts and pants (most all of them Banana Republic) to "test" the waters before taking in my precious Banana Republic, J Crew, and Ann Taylor wardrobe. The dress shirts and pants were very well done. Just enough starch; pressed nicely. I then took in my dress pants and suits. They did a great job. The only annoyance is the safety pin with the yellow tag that they put on every. single. item. of. clothing... I will need to google "things to do with safety pins" to figure out what to do with the stockpile I have amassed. I decided to bring in my arsenal of merino wool and cashmere sweaters; just in time for the colder winter months. I had recently realized that Shoreline accepted competitor coupons, so the savings blinded me from testing out just 1-2 sweaters.... looking back, the amount of money lost from the shrunken sweaters doesn't compare with the discount I received. NINE wool sweaters were shrunken. I realized this the next morning when I prepared for work and when I put the sweater over my head, I could barely pull it on, let alone fit my arms in the arm holes (you all know this scenario). I tried on a second, then a third, and came to the horrifying conclusion that I will need to lose 10 pounds (New Year's Resolution, anyone?) in order to fit in them again. While I agree with the other reviewer (Jarrett) that the customer service is stellar, speed is fast, and price reasonable, these qualities don't make up for the poor treatment of my precious wool sweaters. read more

I've had approximately 60-70 shirts done for me over the past year, about 4 of them had damage to the buttons in which they melted with the irons. I returned them and they fixed them without charge. I had one shirt they were not able to get the stains out. Overall they do a good job. read more

I went to pick up a suit and dress shirt as we are leaving for travel tomorrow. It turns out that the machine broke and the shirt could not be finished. Understood, it happens. However, when I asked to have the dirty shirt back, she reported that she would not be able to find it. I asked if she could continue to look and I received the most unprofessional responses from the young woman at the desk. Explaining that the shirt was custom made for my tall husband, her response was "He only has one shirt?" Are you kidding me? Not understanding my frustration that I cannot run to the local store and buy a shirt that fits him, she offered to give me someone else's shirt that looked like it would fit a 13 year old. There was still 2.5 hours before the store closed and I asked (albeit frustrated) that she continue to look and I continued to get rolling of eyes, giggles, and a complete and utter lack of understanding. She also said, "I don't have to do anything" when I told her to call the owner. I cannot believe this woman acted in this way when I made it clear that I was going to be on a plane the next day. Her response "will you be on the plane all day?". The condescension was too much to bare. I have yet to receive any kind of phone call from the owner to explain the situation or offer a solution. I feel a responsibility to support local businesses in a small community, but unfortunately, this is what happens. I still have a suit and no shirt. Yes, he only has one shirt because he wears a suit 2x/year. I really didn't need her judging comments and attitude. Disgraceful. read more

NOT IMPRESSED won't be going back.. Brought a dress in with a couple of spots after I got home I noticed ten times more spots then when I went in. After five (5) returns visits I was informed they are invisible spots and there is nothing they can do about it. I guess they didn't know about that the first four times I was there?? read more

I dropped off my jacket to get a broken zipper replaced and I was promised the jacket to be ready for pick up on 10/26/15. I show up on 10/26 (after they've had it for 1 week) and the girl at the front acts like she doesn't know where my jacket is. She goes and gets a man from the back (don't know if he was the owner or manager) and he says that the taylor doesn't have the jacket because he was just there. He calls the taylor in front of me and she doesn't have my jacket. The man looks in their store inventory and my jacket is there. Come to find out it was dry cleaned (which I never asked for) and it was never sent out to get the zipper replaced. I had to leave without my jacket. I show up on 10/30/15 which was the new promise date. The girl rings me up and she says it will be $34, to which I replied "for a zipper?" And she says "that's what the taylor is charging". I said "I was quoted $15-$20, not $34". The girl went and got another girl from the back and that girl gave me no explanation as to why it was $34 except that the price was what the Taylor said it would cost. I said "$15-$20 to $34 is quite the price hike" and she says "I can do $25" and I said "I will pay for it but I'm not happy about it because that's not what I was quoted". She says "ok I'm going to give it to you for $20". I never got an apology for anything. They were not nice one bit when it was their error the first time when my jacket never got sent out for repair and the second time when they over charged me. Those 2 girls at the front need empathy training and customer service training as they were very unprofessional. The man with the white hair was very nice. No complaints on him as it wasn't his fault and I feel bad he was even a part of this terrible review. I feel like I was not treated correctly. The whole experience was terrible and I would never use them again. I'll be sure to spread the word as well so that others don't have a less than mediocre experience like I did. read more
