I had a terrible experience at Shoreline Pet Grooming today. I brought my dog at 8:30 for grooming. Then I got called in to work for 11:00. I called right away at 10:10 to see if he was ready. He was wet, not dry. I asked if I could pick him up after 3. No, that is not an option because they close long before that. Ok. I said I'll have to pick him up now, it's ok if he is wet. I just have to hurry and get him. When I got there a sweet groomer was drying him for me. Then the horrible older woman aggressively came at me to tell me off. She was so rude. She raised her voice at me and blamed me for upsetting the entire schedule of the day. She said it was against the law for me to take him still wet (he was almost dry, fluffy even). She said she didn't know what I was thinking to rush a senior dog. I'm very aware my older dog requires extra tlc! She said she felt compelled to dress me down like that even if it might hurt my feelings because I was making irrational demands on them. I told her my feelings were already hurt from the morning when I dropped him off and she didn't even say hello, to me or my dog. She said she was too busy for that and she said, "We aren't here to do what YOU want!" Just like that with emphasis on YOU. At drop off they didn't even ask what I wanted. He needed more than a bath, a little shaving off his rear end too. I had to say it quick before they whisked him away and booted me out the door! The only thing she had to say to me at drop off was that will cost extra. I know that. Of course I'll pay for the service. So rude! She needs a reminder, she isn't doing me any favors. I am the paying customer. She is very unprofessional if one unexpected glitch, a necessary accommodation for a paying client, will upset her entire schedule of the day. She actually said to the sweet groomer that she didn't care about losing my business. She is a horrible, combative, rude, argumentative, unprofessional, miserable hater. read more

I was looking for a local groomer that could fit my dog in asap. (original groomer couldn't take her) Shoreline is on my way to work everyday, so I gave them a call. The owner called me back quickly. She had an appointment available the next day. I was nervous because I have never met them before or been there. (I don't want to leave my furbaby with just anyone). Kristin was the woman who took excellent care of my senior dog. She told me Morgan was excellent with her, and she received a report card and a cute new bandana. Holly has been grooming for years and years and is an Animal Rescuer and Advocate. We have been taking our four Himalayan rescues there for 10 years - every 7 weeks! So I have years of experience watching her with my animals and dogs being groomed. I simply would not trust another soul to deal with my animals. She loves and kisses and talks to them gently. She advises clients if she thinks there is a medical issue (based on her last 45+ years of dealing with rescue dogs and regular aging client dogs) and I am so grateful for her wisdom and love of all creatures! Brought our dogs (Westie and Cairn) in for grooming. My daughter picked the dogs up for us and was told that one of our dogs had abscesses in his mouth that needed to be checked by our vet. We had extensive dental work done on the dog (including extractions) within the last 30 days which had been causing him to lick incessantly. We simply asked Shoreline to trim the fur back away from his mouth in hopes that he might stop "slurping" the fur along his mouth a bit. We didn't go there seeking "Veterinary Advice". Additionally, Holly the owner, aside from giving the vet advice, felt the need to be a fashion critic as well and chastised my daughter for having faux fur on the hood of her jacket. My daughter assured her that it was faux fur because she would NEVER wear real fur. Well, Holly still felt the need to be even more rude by telling her "she should rip the fur off of the hood". As a result of Shoreline's abscess "diagnosis", we did have the dog re-checked by our vet (a $55 charge to me and a waste of our vet's time) who shook his head, said that it is completely normal, not abscesses and it was silly for a groomer to be dishing out vet advice. I called Holly to voice my displeasure and she simply accused my daughter of lying and then told me that I was "making a mountain out of a molehill". She also said she doesn't need to listen to any such criticism and certainly never even entertained the thought of apologizing. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN and know several people who have stopped doing business there due to Holly's big mouth and over opinionated personality. I'd give ZERO stars if it was an option. ***Also, be aware that if you post a negative review, staff at Shoreline will create their own 5 Star review to counter your negative review. A questionable business practice to deceive the public into thinking that their yelp rating is higher than it actually is. read more

I will never do business with this arrogant woman ever again. Our 2 Doodles were very matted & I knew they would have to be shaved down to look like Labradors. However, I was blown away when she charged us $480 to do so. And, she screamed & yelled at my husband because they were so matted. She said people are arrested for letting animals get so matted. I called a week later to question the charge because after speaking to 3 different groomers, I was told that even in a worst case scenario, the charges should not have been any more than $250. Holly, the owner of the shop, said to me & I quote, "Well, I am an old lady & it was very hard to do the job. We had to use a "belly blade" to shave them down." She said "when dogs are that matted it can break the blades in our clippers". We actually rescued these 2 big dogs. The female was a month pregnant unbeknownst to us at the time. A month later she delivered 10 puppies. Since November, we have spent $10,000 on physicals, vaccinations, spaying, neutering & a 50 x 70 fenced in exercise area for these 2 dogs. Because she was so arrogant with me, I told her that we had a prescheduled appointment for a 2nd grooming on May 7 but she can go ahead & cancel that appointment because I will be taking our business elsewhere. She was condescending We have never been treated this badly or taken such advantage of anywhere! read more

I adopted an elderly chow with spinal issues. I heard about Shoreline Pet Grooming from animal rescuers who gave it rave reviews. I went there and met the owner Holly who has been rescuing animals since she was 9 and now it's over 50 years. She is gentle, talented and allows you to stay with your animal as he./she is groomed. I really like that. My first chow passed away and when i adopted another one I didn't hesitate to bring him to Shoreline. He was very abused and neglected and so he was very skittish but Holly worked her magic and groomed him gently and compassionatelyt. The other groomers who work there are equally great. I wouldn't trust any other groomers because my dog is not a pet, he's a member of my family. read more

The woman who runs this grooming salon was the rudest person I have ever spoken to! I called to ask about prices for bath/grooming for my two yorkies. She told me that shouldn't be my first question when calling a groomer! Then said she couldn't give me a price without meeting my dogs first. Then asked why I wasn't going to my last groomer anymore! I told her it was none of her business and that she was very rude and I would take my business elsewhere. Never as a potential customer have I ever been treated like such garbage. We will never go back to this groomer Debbie or shoreline. We asked if they knew how to cut Morkies and they said how ever you want we can do. Well they did what was good for them. We asked for the hair to stay long, ears long, tail long, legs. You get the picture ,Not shaved. She was almost shaved to skin. She now looks like a yorkie not a morkie. She does not look like my puppy anymore. She looks pathetic. When complained they just shrugged. Never go there!!! They do the quickest and easiest for them and charge for it. I could just cry. She looks like my deceased yorkie. If I wanted a yorkie I would have bought one. Don't go there unless you don't care how your dog looks, because they surely don't care. read more

Well, I am shocked at the previous reviews so I feel the need write my own review of Debbie who has been grooming my dogs for years. Barney and Alex have had wonderful haircuts by Debbie ranging from a light trim to shaving for the summer. Not only does she groom extremely well, but my dogs feel very comfortable being groomed by her which is hard to find, believe me. Alex is completely blind and sensitive around his eyes therefore the trust I have in her is monumental. I cannot imagine leaving my dog with someone other that's Debbie without experiencing a lot of anxiety. Debbie takes time to understand exactly what I want and I have never been disappointed. She also makes sure that she conveys any skin problems that may been erupting. The fact that Debbie is very detail oriented leaves me with a sense of confidence that the haircut will be done exactly as I want it. Any dog owner knows that a talented dog groomer who also treats them with gentle hands and a kind voice is hard to find, but Debbie fits the bill. I wouldn't go to anyone else read more
