Snowflake Pet center was a total Godsend today. One of my larger dogs attacked my smaller dog and left him with some pretty intense wounds on his face. My regular vet office couldn't fit us in but Snowflake would, even as a new patient. I was able to save SO much by avoiding the animal ER. Every staff member was genuinely personable, kind and honest with me. I felt comfortable asking questions and they gave me honest answers and advice. The prices were more than fair and my pup is well on his way to recovery. I am very particular about the care that my fur babies receive and I 100% recommend Snowflake to anyone who needs care or boarding for their pet. Thank you, everyone at Snowflake. Started good, but went bad. I requested my dogs record and didnt send at first send me appts with billing. That was because they did not want to send me the vets notes. In the record the receptionist wrote more about me than they did the dog. Wrote awful things about me. The last note said that they told me to go back to my to my prior vet. They said I called irate and that they were going to stop prescribing my dogs medicine because I didn't want to have blood work done. She is 18 and I don't want to put56 her thru the stress of the car ride. I thought what does it really matter about having blood work done. She is 18 now so its just about keeping her comfortable now. She is my bf and I would do whatever she needed. The receptionist wrote all sorts of things. Wish they paid more to my dog than me. The receptionist is also curt, passive aggressive making comments under her breath. I'm deeply disappointed in the behavior they exhibit as well as the care. I liked the vet he was informative. A place like that is replaceable. Many vets around that are good without the problems. It is a competitive market now with 15 vets or so in each town. We have choices not to pay an reasonable amount and have great healthcare for our animals. I am now going back to our old vet, they don't have to tell me twice. Snowflake Pet Center was THE WORST experience for putting my elderly dog down. The veteran was beyond insensitive or empathetic. She acted as if it's was just another day in the office, while this was something sensitive to any dog owner. This is just the beginning. I will not go into details but the procedure was BOTCHED! Do not bring your animals here if you care for them. I'm not longer bringing my dog here and hope no else does either. NO ONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS!!! Negligence, gaslighting and failure to take accountability of their actions in all aspects. Whatever you do, do NOT take your pet here to be treated in any form. We had to BEG the surgeon to wrap our dogs tail after she was brought out to us with an unbandaged tail after a tail amputation surgery. She was bleeding all over the floor and walls of the vet once she was brought out to us. The surgeon told us "you can just bandage it in the car" as blood was spewing everywhere. When she was brought out to us, she was also COVERED in FECES. How is this an acceptable standard for a veterinary facility? Along with this, the stitch work was horrific. Then we come to realize the e-collar they gave her was too small, and she had access to her surgical site post-op, putting our dog at greater risk We immediately had to go to Petco to get an effective E-Collar. Just add it to the list of issues we came across. Complete disregard in all forms, and as the parents we were treated with nothing but disrespect and disregard from both the surgeon, and ESPECIALLY the owners of this facility. When speaking to the owners of the facility, they disregarded all of our concerns and issues, and took ZERO accountability. None. They do not care about your pet. They do not care about you. They have zero empathy or compassion, and need to be held accountable for their actions. read more

If I could give a lower review score, I would. This past Friday (3/25/22) we brought in our 20 year old cat to be groomed. The service we received was unprofessional, entirely unacceptable and quite frankly disturbing. I picked up the cat on behalf of my girlfriend and was shocked with what we discovered once I brought her home. She has cut wounds all over her body, severe razor burn and a half-assed patchwork job of a haircut. Half of her whiskers on one side were even buzzed off. The "groomer" Jenny BUTCHERED our baby. When I came to receive our cat, no mention of these wounds or this terrible job were brought to my attention. We had to find out for ourselves when we brought her home. My girlfriend had to call only to be told to "leave it alone for a few days" and that we were charged $160 for this service due to needing "2 people to hold her down". Seeing as this was my first time picking up our cat from Snowflake, I was not aware of the price discrepancy from the past visits. It has always been $60 not counting the last time you needed "two people to hold her down" where the price was increased to $70. We have the invoices. Charging us double for a literal butcher job is disgusting. We had to schedule our baby to be euthanized this Friday and this is a traumatic way to spend the last few days of her life with her. Never again will we bring our animals to Snowflake Pet Center and we will make sure all our friends and family know to spread the word. No one else should have their loved ones go through this ever again. You all should be ashamed. read more

We boarded our dogs here for 6 days while away for my sisters wedding in Florida. Extremely saddened to come home to one of my dogs sick- diarrhea, vomiting, and EXTREMELY skinny. After already being concerned about this, noticed he had multiple gashes that were DEEP. No one mentioned his injuries upon pick up, and the reason we chose to board here was because there's a vet on the premises in case anything were to happen (which proved to be a useless factor). We ended up needing to bring him to the pet hospital later that night and then our regular vet to get stitches in multiple areas. Clearly this is not quality care & is pure negligence. Unnoticed & untreated wounds like these are unacceptable. Extremely disappointed, sad, and left with no trust in this place. read more

Took my cat here to be shaved, unfortunately he needed to be sedated and Rebecca at Snowflake Pet Center was very accommodating in order to get him shaved the same day and save me a trip. Unfortunately he was shaved unevenly which shouldn't be the case given that he was sedated and additionally his whiskers are completely cut on one side. read more

My childhood pets went to snowflake and I bring my dog there now. They have always provided the best service. The staff is so caring and supportive. They even remember little details that show they are truly involved and invested. My dog recently became ill and Becca and Dr. Brooks not only provided the best medical service, they truly cared about his recovery and well-being. Becca showed my little guy so much love. I do not live close to Snowflake but choose to drive the distance because I know that they provide the best care around. I couldn't be more appreciative for all that they do. I can't begin to say all of the wonderful things Snowflake has done for all of my animals over the 5+ years I've been going to them. I would kennel one of my dogs there every year while I went away on vacation, with her always returning in a cute bandana and a fresh bath. They've delt with all of her medications over the years as well as recommending a great place for me to get her fixed when she was younger. My boyfriend and I just got a dog together and they have also been taking care of him from the start. They always give us plenty of explanations as to what they are doing and why, and compared to other vets they are more than reasonably priced. I brought my one year old Himalayan cat to be groomed. I had tried to do a lion cut on him myself but it didn't come out so well! Jenny fixed it perfectly. There were 2 mattes of hair that I couldn't get out and she got them out without a problem. My cat was fine. The receptionist was polite. I will return here to get my cat groomed. I had an emergency issue with my dog, Johnny. He was a new to me rescue from a local shelter. Turns out he had a separation anxiety issue. While I was outside he decided to join me..through a window! Bandaged up a bad cut on his leg to stop the bleeding. Rushed over to Snowflake and Bob and the crew took him right in! Picked him up later that day with a few stitches and a cone. Lol. AWFUL experience! Technicians are extremely ROUGH with the animals! Two female techs abruptly dragged my cat out by the nap of his neck and forcefully held him down to clip his nails. He was so scared and wailing for his life that I had them stop after his hind legs! I asked if I could hold him in my arms to comfort him so they could continue and they refused saying, " we don't normally have people in here at all and we don't feel comfortable with that" with attitude!!! I reused to let them touch him again and they brought in a third tech who was a kind elderly gentleman who allowed me to hold him..ask for him if you DARE to go here. It was such a terrible experience never in my life has my cat ever suffered such cruel treatment from a groomers! It left us both visibly disturbed and I will NEVER go back there!! I brought my dog here to Snowflake and will never bring him back to be kenneled again. We had to last minute kennel him for a week and though we are grateful he was able to be taken in, when I picked him up he was SO dirty, the check in and out area smelt so bad I could only imagine the kennel he was in all week. He barely ate any of his food, and when i called to check up on him all I got was he's very scared and nervous he won't interact with us...you would think they would try to ease a puppy down , so he would enjoy it and be a returning pup, but no I could tell he wanted to get out of there as soon as I picked him up. I brought my dog to be boarded at Snowflake while I went out of state for several days. He was fine when we brought him in, but once we went back to get him there was something wrong with his eye. It was very dry and you could tell just by looking at him something wasn't right. The staffer who brought him out also mentioned his eye, but seemed very nonchalant about the whole situation. I ended up having to bring my dog to a special eye doctor, and the result was the eye being removed. I'm upset and disappointed because the staff at Snowflake did not contact us about his eye. If we'd known sooner, it would have been possible to save it. read more

Took my soft-coated wheaten terrier puppy in for a "trim" of his face and even gave specific instructions regarding the expectations. Miscommunication or misinterpretation happened as the result of the trim was more than just a trim. The equivalent of a toddler being told to give an adult a haircut using clippers for the first time. Perhaps even further detailed should have been given but regardless we will be looking for an alternate grooming service for our wheaten terrier. All in all professionalism was lacking from my point of view. read more

Dr. Die'lo treated my rabbit when she was a vet in California. She didn't have a California Vet license--California has one of the most difficult vet exams--but was licensed in another state. My rabbit presented with GI stasis. The most common treatment is SUBCUTANEOUS fluids (fluids under the skin), but Dr. Die'lo gave him INTRAVENOUS fluids (fluids by veins). She never spoke to me to ask what were his symptoms or examed him in my presence. My rabbit was just snatched away while I had to fill out forms. Needless to say, my rabbit died after her "treatments." She seemed uncaring. By the way, anyone interested in acupuncture should check out how to get a degree from IVAS, where Dr. Die'lo got her certification. read more

Not happy with this facility. They seemed overbooked and not sure where they stuck my dogs. One of my dogs after being picked up from boarding was ill with GI infection. $300 later. They even forgot to give us my dog bowls. Who knows what else I'm not aware of !! They only had them 24 hours. Never again . read more

I had brought my 2 kittens to this vet, as a contract with the shelter they were adopted from. When I picked them up from the vet the first time, I gave my carrier to them and not even 5 minutes later, when my kittens were brought back to me, there was poop all over the back of the carrier. Per the adoption agreement, they were spayed at 8 weeks, which is way too young for kittens, especially females as it is more invasive then for males. Not 4 days later, after following all vet recommendations, one of the kittens had an infection. Brought her back to get cleaned up, and then within 24 hours, I had to bring her to an emergency where I was told that they in fact, did not fully clean the surgical sight. Because of this, it caused a big problem with conjunctivitis, costing me $350 more than I should have had to spend. Another thing that this vet had advised me of was to us baby wipes to clean them. Finding out that this is okay at all. I was very unpleased with this veterinary office. read more

We took our cat here for a uti infection to be treated. The facilities were old and outdated and the staff was less than emphatic. Ever since the visit there our cat has been eating less and breathing very heavily. Today she passed away and it seems to be a correlation with the treatment she received here to her passing. My dog came back smelling like urine after one day. They gave vaccines without my permission and while I was there, they had police there as they apparently lost one of the boarding pets. The vet is not even personable and o tolerates this place for a long time, now there's new vets nearby, time to change. read more

If I could give negative stars I would, however that's not an option. I switched my dog Chase to this vet after 10 years at Spring Glen Vetinary Clinic because they were friends of a friend and I heard good things. I rescued my Chase, who is now 12 years old, as a puppy from a life of being used as a bait dog. His difficult past led him to be very distrusting of males and other dogs, I brought him to Tufts behavioral clinic in Massachusetts when he was 1 and I was told the only chance he had at a normal life would be if he was medicated with prozac to relieve his anxiety. I was informed by Tufts that if we choose to put Chase on these meds and then ever I wanted him to come off of it, it was necessary to ween it out of his system. Fast forward to eleven years later when we are using Snowflake as our vet clinic, I called in a prescription refill for Chase to the pharmacy (two days before he ever ran out) and was informed that it needed doctor approval. The pharmacist tried to contact the vet and did not receive any information. When I contacted the vet I was informed (for the first time) that Chase needed to be seen before the prescription could be refilled (this was on a Wednesday.) I explained to the vet that I would not be able to get him in for at least a week as I work full time, have young children and go to graduate school. I expressed my concern about him just abruptly stopping the medicine and it making him sick or irritable towards the young children in the house. They informed me that he would be fine even if he had to wait the week because it was in his system. They also informed me in a very nasty tone that "this is why you don't let medicine just run out before calling to refill it" , mind you I called two days before it ran out. I asked to speak with the vet (as the person I had been speaking to was a secretary) and I was informed that a vet would call me back as soon as possible. Four hours later when I returned from night classes and still had not heard from the vet I called them and left a message explaining that I had yet to hear from a vet to discuss the possibility of enough pills until I can make it in, that I was always informed this was an unsafe med to stop abruptly and that I was upset with how they were handling it. I explained to them that if they did not resolve this immediately for my dog I would report them. By 10 AM the next morning I still had not heard anything back and when a family member of mine called to try and get more information, the secretary at the front desk (mistaking him for the friend that I had in common with the Snowflake) told him that I was crazy, called them up drunk and threatened them and that they were sending me a letter to drop Chase as a patient. How incredibly unprofessional not only to negatively discuss a client with anyone who calls but to drop a patient in need of service via mail without giving them any idea that it was being done. I immediately contacted my previous vet (spring glen) who filled the prescription right away as they recognized the potential danger to Chase if he abruptly stopped the medication. They also gave enough of the prescription to last the few days until I could bring him in to be seen. Oh, and when Spring Glen called for his records the secretary informed them as well that I was "crazy." Thank God Spring Glen Vetinary clinic knew me from years prior working together and informed Snowflake that it was not the case. The sad thing too was that even the pharmacist called to check on chase as they were concerned about him abruptly stopping his medication. It seems everyone but Snowflake is aware of the potential dangers this poses, even a pharmacist. I would never recommend this place as they clearly do not have the best interest of the animals at heart. It does not matter how difficult you find a person, you do not leave the animal suffering. read more

So i made an appointment to have my 16 year old dog put to sleep since my regular Vet was unavailable. It was a Thursday afternoon, we get prepared, we bring her in. I had prepaid $180 so as not to have to deal with it the day of the euthanasia. The vet who took us decided that she thought the dog still had some "spunk" and if put on painkillers, and other meds, could live a while longer. Basically she refused to put my dog down. SInce i had prepaid, i made an appointment to do it on Saturday morning (when a different Vet would be on call). Lo and behold i get a phone call telling me they couldn't do it because the Vet on call did not show up that day. So, making a long story short, they never did put my dog down. When i asked for a refund they credited my account minus $55, telling me the $55 was for an office visit! WHAT???? I never asked for an office visit, nor had they rendered the services I initially paid for!!! My dog had been to my own Vet a few months prior for her yearly checkup, etc (which cost me plenty), so why in the world would i need an "office visit"???? Needless to say I asked for someone in charge to call me back. That phone call never came. So, basically the dog ended up getting put down, which cost even more money, by my own Vet. I paid $55 for absolutely nothing. She barely looked at the dog, a far cry from an "office visit" even if i agreed to pay it! I will not use Snowflake again. I believe the whole situation was poorly handled, and then to charge me for NO services rendered???!!!!! Never ever again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone else. Forgot to mention that i called and spoke to the receptionist about how i thought it was wrong to charge me for an office visit. She really couldn't help me so i asked for one of the people in charge to give me a call back. Never heard a word. I feel they should've at least given me the chance to speak to someone at a higher level. read more

I am writing this because of the other 1 star reviews of this facility, but it makes no sense to me based on MY experience. Full disclosure, this was our first visit there and we decided to put our dog to sleep, but it had nothing to do with Snowflake. Our 10 year old lab came to them with a spleen about 10+ times larger than normal and would likely have burst within 24 hours. He also already had significant hip displaysia, was on meds and had fallen down the stairs several times (which likely caused the spleen issue) Snowflake was referred to us by word of mouth. We called on the phone, they answered my questions and took us in that day. The people were nice, professional and gave us the information we needed to make an informed decision. Yes we would have spent several thousands of dollars on our 10 year old dog and family member but WE chose not to, and they were quite understanding and supportive, including the support staff, the vet herself, and an older gentlemen that may have been the father or owner of the business. A terrible, but not surprising outcome for us, but not due to Snowflake. There place seemed absolutely fine to me, no apparent filth or abuse. It is a kennel with animals, so it will smell a bit more than your 1 animal house, but I would return there with any other needs. read more

I have brought my dog here twice to be kenneled, once for a few days and once for a full week. I was very happy with the service, and with the good care my dog clearly received. I didn't notice any particularly bad smell in the office area, and my dog was not dirty when we picked her up. She was happy to go back the second time, so clearly had not had a bad experience. I have not used their vet services, but very happy with the kennel. They offer walks and playtimes for a very small extra charge. I guess I'd give them five stars if they offered a doggie day care option where the dogs were not in an enclosure at all for part of the day, but their runs are large, and my dog was a rescue who was used to being crated. read more

Whether it is Dr D or Dr Bob they will ensure you are included in your pets healthcare and you will get options. I run a rescue for over a decade and they have gotten my business for the whole time. They care. They also offer alternative healing as in acupuncture and their head receptionist Cheryl brings it all together in a neat package. I work with a national dog rescue and have used the Snowflake Pet Center for the last ten years with boarding our dogs as well as having vaccinations, spay/neuter and dentals completed while they are boarded. Many times the dog have had to remain in boarding until a foster home was located. Snowflake has been wonderful in caring for the dogs and have been very loyal to our rescue through the years! On February 12, 2012 my 91 year old uncle had a catastrophic furnace failure in his home during the overnight hours. Due to the fact that he had a day trip planned for the 13th, family members were not concerned when we did not hear from him. The problem came to light on the morning of February 14. Everything in the house -- including my uncle, and his 4 year old German Shepard -- was covered in layer upon layer of soot. Seasoned Fire Department personnel who responded said it was the worst delayed ignition they had ever seen. My uncle was transported to the hospital and admitted into ICU. The house was uninhabitable. During the initial hours of this crisis, a decision needed to be made concerning the dog. It was decided to kennel him, and Snowflake Kennel was chosen because they offered grooming services, and veterinary care was available as well. He needed to be bathed immediately, and while the dog appeared to be fine we felt better knowing that there was a vet on site in the event health issues arose. We brought him there with the request that he be groomed, and agreed to pay the extra fee for personal attention. Once my uncle's condition stabilized, thoughts turned to his beloved dog as we began making arrangements for damage mitigation of their home. Family members were discouraged from visiting Max during his stay at Snowflake, which meant we were unable to personally monitor his condition. Phone calls revealed that the dog had NOT been bathed after he had been there for well over a week! In fact, he was not given a bath until Snowflake was told we'd be moving the dog if they didn't. This week Max was put down due to kidney failure. He was a gorgeous, intelligent dog who had just turned 5 years old. The only toxic substance the dog is known to have ingested is all that soot that remained on his coat for all those days while he tried to groom himself. While no one can say with 100% certainty that this was the cause, common sense points in that direction. Anyone considering using Snowflake Kennel needs to be aware of this story. read more

I've been taking my pets to snowflake for several years now. I've always questioned whether this was the way pets should be treated or not. I recently got a rescue dog and started again with them. The female doctor was very loud and obnoxious. For a shot that they gave I wasn't allowed in the room which I thought was strange. Yesterday I noticed my dog had an eye infection. Being Saturday the receptionist tried to give me a Monday appt at 5 on. I asked her if I should wait that long as she needed attention now. She suggested I bring her to emergency or find another vet that would take her. That's exactly what I did, found a new vet. These pp are rediculous. They don't even seen to care as the vet receptionist hung up on me. Never again. read more

my dog ended up here when some people working on the house kicked down the dog fence and didn't bother to put it back up and he was picked up by the city. when i picked my dog up, he was crying and extremely excited, not like him at all. he's a very aloof shiba, so this was concerning. then, sure enough, a few days later he has kennel cough. he's vomiting and hacking every two minutes, shaking, tail unfurled. I don't write negative reviews about places because generally after a bad experience I don't go back. This was different. Snowflake was recommended to me by a friend who sang praises about them and they were very accommodating and answered all my questions. Being a vet office as well made me think this was a good place to bring my dog. The first time I dropped my dog off everything was fine (probably harder on me than him). When I picked him up I noticed he was a little dirty, smelled a little like urine and was ready to bolt out of that place. He then proceeded to bark at me in the car and acted very unsettled, my dog does not bark. I brushed it off because he was back to pretty much normal when I we got home with the exception to being VERY thirsty. 2nd time bringing him there he freaked out a little when I dropped him off but the staff rushed me out and said he would be fine. I picked him up and he was noticeably thinner, dirty/smelly, and again acted the same way unsettled way when I got him in the car. He will not eat if he is in a very stressed state. Also VERY thirsty again when I got him home. The last time (and it will be the last time) I brought him...pulling into the parking lot he immediately started shaking and whining as he did in the front office. I couldn't cancel the reservation at this time because I was going away. Picking him up was the last we will set foot near that place. I will never bring my dog back. sorry I gave them three chances. I should have peace of mind when I leave my dog in someone else's care and all I did was think about him while I was away. read more
