Today, I picked up a 51 Precision Bass reissue that needed a full setup, some serious upper fret work and unusually long screws for the saddles. I took in my Martin D-15 for a simple restringing and was a little amazed, if I'm being honest, at the degree of care and confidence he worked. All the while, I badgered him with specific questions about how and why he was doing things I saw--being out of town, I need to be able to do this for myself. He was patient and careful, making this and that suggestion--strings and stringing techniques--and completing his work with the tiniest adjustment of the bow in my guitar's neck, something he'd noticed almost instinctually. I left having caught up on old times and holding a guitar that's never sounded better in its short life. Absolutely top-notch confident work.
