A very nice hike to get an amazing view of the short sand beach and I will say it's totally worth it. The hike isn't so bad and you don't need any special gear. Just follow the trail and you'll reach the beach with no big issues. Some of the path can be narrow so just be compassionate with other hikers. We took the trail that took us to the beach and we totally enjoy it. The view from the top of the mountain and then the view of the beach is astonishing. You also might have to look for parking because the lot where the trail began is small.

What a great beach!!! The walk from the large surface lot was lovely and well maintained. The beach itself was pristine and honestly not that crowded - just us and a few surfers. Found a few agates too! The only thing that was special was the large elephant seal carcass washed up on the beach. It didn't smell that bad so it was clearly fresh. I feel for this visiting in the next two weeks.

Magical mystic enchanted uh surreal definitely a stop on anyone's Oregon coast venture hood spot to surf.there's a small walk very easy .25 miles to get to the beach and different trails not many people during winter great place to come be alone just hear the waves and enjoy the nature

Secluded and beautiful!!! Coming here was such a pleasure. Off HWY 101 the beach is located at the end of a very tranquil and cooling short 1/2mile trail. Its not strenuous at all. Very easy to get to. You come out to a nice size cove with mountains hugging both sides of the beach. At low time you have a large sandy area. There are plenty of surfers, and boarders out looking to catch a good wave. Dogs are welcome and they were all enjoying swimming and playing. There are some benches and grills to BBQ before heading down to the beach. Locale ~ Off of Oswald West State Park Offerings ~ Lovely short hike through the woods and out to a beautiful cove. Extras ~ Dog friendly! Not very crowded.

This is one of the nicest Oregon beaches. A bit of a hike from the raking lot but worth it.

Cool Hip Trendy beach, if it had more bikinis I would give it 5 stars. Good waves for surfing. About as good as it gets on the Oregon coast.

Nightmare. The owner of this company tried to gaslight me into staying in a house infested with…read moreants. Pull up a chair. It's... it's actually shocking how unprofessional this woman was. We rented a $230/night house (called HAVEN) for a family birthday getaway. The day after we checked in, we discovered an infestation of ants all over the kitchen and in the living room - they were in the kitchen cupboards, on the counter, all over the floor (see pics). It was really disgusting. I cleaned up hundreds of ants and they were still everywhere. I felt like I had ants all over my body. I was in distress. This is not the $230/night deluxe experience I had envisioned. I sent photos to this management company and called them immediately. The first person I spoke to said that they were MADE AWARE THE HOUSE HAD ANTS, a week ago - but thought they had fixed the problem. She offered to send a maintenance person to check things out, but said the options would be to spray chemicals (I had my dog there, and wouldn't allow this), or to use a sugar wash, which, she explained, would make the problem worse before it got better. Oh, super. I told her that I was really uncomfortable and didn't know what to do. Neither of these options would work and I didn't want anyone else in the house due to COVID. She did not offer any additional options, so in my distress, I relented and said the maintenance person could come at least check things out. They gave me 30 minutes to vacate for the maintenance person. It was pouring down rain so a bit inconvenient but... ok. A few minutes later as we were preparing to vacate, I opened up a cupboard to get a glass of water and ants were running around all of our plates and cups in the cabinets. My kids were upset and I was disgusted, and we decided we didn't want to be there at all. I called back and spoke to the owner this time. This is where the gaslighting began! I told her as politely as I could that we were uncomfortable and would be leaving. She then LAUGHED AT ME and loudly cawed, "You're LEAVING OVER SUGAR ANTS??" Then she said, "it's not like it's mice or rats! They don't bite, they don't sting, and they don't carry disease!" OHHH. OK! I don't mind if I find a few swimming in my morning coffee, then! No prob. #BeachLife! She also tried this one: "this is NORMAL for Manzanita!" When I tried to tell her that I've been vacationing at the coast at Seaside since I was young, and had never experienced anything like this, she cut me off to explain, "This isn't SEASIDE, it's MANZANITA!" OHHH! Yes, right, this town is 30 minutes down the coast from the one I grew up going to... and thus has a compleeeetely different climate, vegetation and pests, and that makes an ant infestation perfectly acceptable, perfectly normal, perfectly healthy. When I explained that I did not want any chemicals to be sprayed because I had my dog in the house, she again CUT ME OFF to tell me she has EXPENSIVE dogs and she would NEVER put dogs in danger. OK? Not sure why I needed to know she has expensive dogs. This is not about you, Karen. This is about us, you know, the people who paid almost $2000 to stay here? She never once apologized. She never offered to set us up with a different property. She just attempted to gaslight me into thinking I was CrAzY for wanting to vacate a property swarming with lovable, friendly little ants. Meanwhile, my body still itches. She went on and on for so long without letting me speak, that my daughter eventually took the phone from me and told her we would be leaving, and hung up. We packed up our things and got out of ANT HAVEN. I requested a refund through AirBnb, which the property manager has declined. But it's fine, I'm dealing directly with AirBnb to resolve it. And, this is just review #1. I do not love an ant colony in my silverware drawer, but I DO love a review. And I'm only getting started. Avoid. Unless you love ants and being insulted.

They did a great job explaining safety at the Oregon Coast in the beginning of the lesson that put my mind a bit more at ease for my three kids. They also taught them about rip tides and conditions to make a great surf day. They were able to get all 5 of us up repetitively in the water and helped give tips of how to advance to the next level. They were just lovely people and caring teachers. I would recommend NW Women's Surf Camp without hesitation and plan to use them again in the future!!!

Somehow, I decided that surfing might be a really fun thing to try before I croak, and I set my…read moregoals to give it a shot before I turned 50. I had heard nothing but wonderful things about NWWSC, and as I was seeking a safe, women-centered program, I decided to sign up with Lexie for a weekend camp with NWWSC. After meeting up with Lexie and Dennis at a reasonable time Sat. morning, and making sure we all had the correct gear, we made our way to our surf spot, a gorgeous Shangri-la of a beach, south of Seaside. We started off our lesson at an overlook by learning how to read the waves, what to look for when picking out your spot, and how to best time your session. Once we were on the beach, we continued covering all the essentials that would make for a safe first experience in the waves. I loved the pre-surf yoga she led us through, something I had never done on the beach, and a much needed warm-up to help us become more flexible and avoid injury. Once we had practiced some dry-runs of the essential 'pop-up', we were ready to head out to the water. I felt well-prepared and gave it my all, but I had some difficulty figuring out whether I was regular foot or goofy, and spent too much time on Saturday sorting it out. I was a bit discouraged as I watched the other women in our group sail past me, but I wasn't going to give up, and neither was Lexie. With her glowing positive attitude and encouraging personalized direction, she gently continued to push me a little farther. On the second day, when I finally stood up for my first wave, we both howled out loudly in unison! My first experience with Lexie at NWWSC was 2 yrs. ago. Since then, I've bought my first board, sought out and enjoyed surf spots all along the PNW coast, and treated myself to a vacation of warm water surfing in Hawaii. Me and my three closest surfer-girl buddies (all who have trained with Lexie) enjoyed an epic private coaching session with her last year, where she continued to push us and brought us to the 'outside'. When my daughter is ready, I will be eager to sign us up for a mother-daughter session with Lexie, as I know she will provide the kind, empowering mentorship my girl will need to ignite her stoke. After my first surf camp weekend, life has never been the same. I surfed all last weekend, will surf with my honey to celebrate our anniversary this weekend, and can't wait for another surfer-girl getaway in just a couple of weeks! I am eternally grateful for Lexie and NWWSC for giving me that initial stoke and all the essentials to safely enter the sport, and for all the fun, challenge, and excitement surfing has brought to my life.
