I was recently back in Oregon and made my required pit-stop in Manzanita. I was lucky I was able to walk the beaches on the day I did because the very next day there was a surf warning, with tides being 3 feet higher than they normally are. On clear days, you can walk the beach for at least 200 or so feet before hitting the water. With the high surfs and winds, you were lucky if you could walk 20 feet out. The water was almost coming as close as the road. Still this place is a blessing, a pristine beach with clean, clean air, a holy mountain with legend attached, soaring cliffs and rock bluffs and soft sand dunes and driftwood fires at night. I noticed that more houses are being built on the mountain unfortunately which is a shame. Manzanita's charm is in it's low-keyness. If Manzanita becomes another circus like Cannon Beach or Seaside, it will be lost.

    Beautiful day in Manzanita.

What a beautiful day! I needed this... For the first time in months I felt like I wasn't in the middle of a pandemic! Easy access, crisp ocean air, clean beaches, friendly people, plenty of space to socially distance so we could take our masks off, kids and surfers in the water, picnics in the sand, it was just a gorgeous day. We'll absolutely be back!

Awesome dog friendly beach. I can't wait to go back. Miles of sand. No cars. Wide open spaces and a friendly town. Great hiking nearby. A wonderful Oregon coast getaway.

Favorite. The best days are when it's not raining and there's a low fog, but it's clear enough to see the forested areas. Wish I had a house here. I need a sugar daddy first.

On a gorgeous day, winter 2015. Manzanita Beach Oregon.

I normally write long reviews - this ones short. Two words Magical, Peaceful - ok well three words - POWERFUL. Nature lovers will love this beach because of its lengthy walk, its cliffs and crashing waves. Travelers will love Manzanita because of its small town celebration. From shops to local foods - manzanita is a must ! When visiting oregon.

I don't understand why people go to Seaside when Manzanita is just up the road a few miles. The main drag mostly has tourist shops, not unlike Cannon Beach, but the town is smaller, sleepier and less discovered. It's also a great dog town. We alway take our dog Matilda with us whenever we go. Early each morning Matilda and I grab the cameras and tripods and head down to the beach. I stop by the Coffee Shop - yep: that's the name of the place - and stop in for some joe, while Matilda makes nice with the K-9s tethered out front. The Sand Dune Pub is pet friendly and Matilda is welcome on the patio. Bread and Ocean, is a great sandwich-deli shop that we frequent whenever we're in town. Vino Manzanita is a sweet little romantic spot for some wine and a quite moment with someone special. While Yachats is still my main squeeze when it comes to beach weekends, Manzanita runs a respectable second.

This is a gem. Not packed crowded, but has enough bustle to keep it interesting. A wine bar. A whiskey bar, and several great restaurants. The beach? Well it's long and wide. What more can you ask for? scot abplanalp

Negative ions galore at this beautiful beach. It's busy but not too busy. It's mostly clean except when some of the garbage comes back from the ocean. :( Who knows where it was before but I don't see a lot of beer bottles/cans and other debris just sitting in the sand where somebody dumped it before they left for home. People that come here seem to get that for the most part. Dogs love it here and they have free doggie bags and trash cans to make it easy pickup. There are wonderful trails, the awesome Neahakanie "hill" to your right. The houses around are kept up and make for a nice walk in the neighborhood. It's got your restaurants and your shops that mostly have been here forever. It's got a great tavern that even has live music on weekends. The town is small enough that it's cozy with even some romance mixed in if you like. There's even a little wine place to duck into if you like that as well. I prefer this over the "carny" type place not too far from here but maybe that's for the kiddies more.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't let Matt G.'s absurd, nonsensical, travesty of a review go unaddressed. I live about 20-30 minutes from Manzanita Beach. I have been there many, many times. I have never had a bad time. The beach has never smelled like rotting fish. It is an absolutely lovely beach, with a great opportunity to walk up to the point (north (Cape Neah Kahnie?)). They have mutiple dog stations along the road where you can park where people can get bags for their pet's waste and also receptacles for the bags after they've been used. I have never seen a single wild dog, let alone packs roaming either the beach or the town. With regard to the townspeople, I'm not sure what relevance that has to Manzanita Beach--no, actually I am sure--it has no relevance whatsoever (even assuming his claims are true, which I'm not). I have, in fact, gotten a cup of coffee in Manzanita several times. It's never been a problem. It's not very good coffee, but it's available for those that want it. Again, I'd like to point out that coffee in the *city* of Manzanita has no relevance nor relation to Manzanita *Beach*. I'm not sure what crawled up Matt G.'s butt (and I was very confused by the "please don't come here and ruin it" comment...wtf?), but please disregard his review. Manzanita Beach is a wondeful place--just as good an option as Oceanside, Cannon Beach, etc. A great place to visit--particularly with your canine friend(s).

I live here! I so lucky I so lucky! This is such an incredible beach. 7 miles of walkable wonderful sand with Neah-kah-nie mountain anchoring the beauty to the land. It is dog friendly so your crazy curs can run loose on it with joy in their sandy faces. (But please be respectful, and if your dog is kennel crazy, please don't let them harass other dogs or people. Can't tell you how many times that has happened to us over the years!) It is a great beach, rain or shine but be careful if there is big surf and keep your eye on the big, wet and wild pacific ocean. I have gotten caught in a few sneaker waves over the years by not watching the surf. My husband has rescued a few kids from a big sneaker wave a few times too. There are lots of great places to eat and stay down here too so come have a good time!

Let's get straight to the heart of what Beaver Falls is all about... If you plug "Beaver Falls Trailhead" into Google Maps, you'll have no problem finding it. Then just park along the side of Highway 30 and hike 1/3rd of a mile through the forest to the base of the falls. It's that easy. When I visited on a Thursday in early afternoon of July, there was hardly anyone around which was good for taking quality photos. Best of all, you can swim in the waters. So definitely bring a bathing suit, towel and a pair of water shoes so the rocks won't hurt your feet while entering the pool beneath Beaver Falls. The water is cold but once you jump in and get comfortable, it's a terrific setting. There's also a long rope where you can swing across and splash down below. It's great for kids (and adults too, lol) to have playful times. For me, I was content soaking in the pool and appreciating the surroundings. More info... - It's free to visit. - Cell phone reception works fine. - You can walk underneath the falls! This is a Must-Do. You can capture some amazing moments standing beside Beaver Falls. It's not hard or dangerous and offers a unique perspective. - Beaver Falls is just one of many outstanding waterfalls situated around Oregon and especially near the Columbia River. There's also Lower Lewis River Falls, Panther Creek Falls and Spirit Falls, to name a few. - You can spend a few hours hanging out or as little as 30 - 40 minutes. It depends on your time horizon. But overall, it's really pleasant to be here that I'd suggest bringing snacks, lunch and maybe having a picnic. This Beaver Falls is absolutely so much fun to hang out at. When you can swim in the waters, swing from a rope and even walk underneath the falls, It makes for a worthwhile summer visit.
