I adore these photos, but as his third birthday approached, my heart was searching for something different. He's not a "sit and smile" kinda boy. He's wild and colorful.. a rainbow that injects creativity into my life. His personality is hard to put into words, but I can SEE it, and I wanted someone to capture *that*. Kelly was the photographer who captured his rainbow blur. Before she arrived, she already had a vision in her head.. a couple of times, I heard her talking through the ideas she had thoughtfully written down. I'm curious as to when those ideas entered her mind.. I dunno! But that's the beauty.. she's clearly inspired by her own lens and life, and she injects that perspective into her fine art photo sessions. She has a plan and a vision, and you just know you're in the hand of an artist. During the session, my son would not sit still. But that's ok, there wasn't any pressure for him to do so. I felt beautiful throughout, even as my body jumped back and forth from strength to defeat as Bruno ran wild.. and despite the intermittent chaos, Kelly took the time to gently guide me into random patches of light that looked simply ethereal in the final edits. Without knowing it, she captured a photo that contained a photo of my late father in the background.. so he was there, and perhaps he was in the light, too? I dunno, but the photos represent more than a happy morning with my son.. they encompass our dance and our blurs and the push-and-pull of our hearts and bodies moving together. They are art. Always an honor to have Kelly and her cameras into our home, and I would recommend her for anyone wanting photos that will live for centuries in albums and prints.. photos that will be traced by the hands of your kids and grandkids.. photos that will help us better understand love and light. Save you money, or burn it either way would be a better way to use it opposed to giving it to this person. Please believe me this was a horrible mistake.

My husband and I - both in our early 70's - had been asked by my 93 year old mom to have…read moreprofessional pictures of ourselves taken. Clearly a request to be granted, but fraught with a lot of doubts about how we would show up in photos at this stage of our lives! We researched several photographers and chose Denyce and Something Blue Photography from reviews. We went in for an initial conversation and thus began an incredibly fun, impressive, and thoroughly satisfying experience. My husband had two B&W family photos from the 60's that he treasured and asked Denyce about our creating something that mirrored them. We also wanted color photos for us and our family. Denyce - who very clearly has perfected her art to a high degree and has a trove of knowledge to draw from - was intrigued by the B&W project and was excited about doing it. For the color photos, she asked good questions about what we wanted to convey, where we would use them, and took the time to get to know us. My husband - who was less excited about this project - got completely engaged with it! We quickly decided that we wanted to work with Denyce. The day of the photo session, she had a wonderful person - Korina - come in to do my makeup. I could have done it myself but preferred having someone do it right for the photos. We brought in many possible outfits that Denyce helped us choose from. We laughed a lot as Denyce used different backgrounds in the studio, had us sitting, standing, hugging and many other playful things that relaxed us and brought out our comfort with each other. For the B&W photos, the poses were more serious, and she adapted to lighting - all to mimic the old photos. When we came in to review the photos, we were nervous. What if we didn't like how we looked?? Well, no worry. She had made us look terrific!! She had a good process of helping us cull down all the options and we came down to 5. We ordered prints and she has a mobile app where we could share all 5 with friends and family ("look kids, we actually look pretty darn good!") Cost: Denyce had outlined this to us at the beginning. There is a sitting fee and then the total cost depends on what you order. With the sitting fee you get a credit towards your prints. It was an investment and we found it reasonable and well (!) worth it. We were thrilled. We highly recommend Denyce and Something Blue Photography.

My husband insisted we have a video of the wedding, and ultimately that is why we chose to go with CocoJoe. The packages for photo & video were great. And she was flexible in subtracting a few small items that we did not necessarily want/need and it really helped fit into our budget. With that said, wedding video and photo are not the cheapest items for your big day- but I can honestly say that you get what you pay for; we are beyond happy with the outcome. Chelsea is a professional, but also truly gifted photographer. Her team was fabulous and I cannot thank the three of them enough for the detailed coverage of our day. We chose a package that had no time limitations, and they really were with us ALL DAY! The photos are beautiful and we have the perfect balance of vibrant colored pictures and timeless black and white shots. There were a few specific shots my husband and I asked for, and CocoJoe captured exactly what we were hoping for. They did not mind us asking for specifics. We have a full length DVD of the wedding, but my favorite thing is our highlight video. Chelsea took amazing video and set it to our 'first dance' song for an amazing summary of our day. (I'm sure I will continue to cry each time I watch it, because it truly captures our emotions and excitement on that day.) I cannot say enough about Chelsea and her team. They really did an amazing job, and I believe they understand and appreciate what their clients want. The completed product comes out as something to truly cherish.
