Come waste your money here only if you want to get your ass kicked as a "thank you" for your patronage. This review is sparked by a case of mistaken identity, fueled by the brainless brawn of the club thugs they call "bouncers." The security at this club are neither professional nor intelligent--they are nothing more than unchained, violence-crazed thugs who act more like bloodthirsty attack dogs than the type of professional security staff that you would expect at a distinguished Denver club. Their brute and barbarous actions will not be tolerated and are being reported to the authorities. This Saturday, my boyfriend and his two friends ("Group 1") were paying for their bar tab at the end of the evening, while next to them, another small group of men ("Group 2") began to bicker amongst themselves. Out of no where and without any kind of forewarning the club's entire security crew muscled Group 1, (the mannerly, civil patrons) out onto the street with such force and maliciousness that one of the men lost a shoe in the process, another man's belt was torn in half and all of them were brutally slammed onto the concrete by nearly a dozen large bouncers who then punched the men repeatedly in the face and pinned them to the ground by their necks as the bouncers choked the men until their breath began to escape them. All the while, not a single one of the men fought back. The bouncers were thankfully relieved of their torturous behavior when the police arrived, who had apparently been called prior to the bouncers sneak attack on the unsuspecting and respectful men. All three men were ticketed for "disorderly conduct" and the police explained that they "had to write tickets because they were called out," despite their apparent understanding that the wrong group of men had been kicked out and advised the men to dispute the tickets. The actions of this club's security were completely unwarranted and excessively ruthless, to say the least. Even if these bouncers had acted out on the men in Group 2 (the ones who were actually, barely, less than well mannered), their idea of an appropriate response to the situation is deranged and dangerous. This club's "security" can't possibly make anyone feel secure when they clearly crave any opportunity to savagely pounce on any patron who so much as smells the wrong way. They never stopped to question anyone, they never confirmed with the complainant that they were dealing with the right group of people, and they never provided anyone with an opportunity to freely and peacefully leave the club. Ok so I've been to these strip clubs all over the U.S. and I must say this supposed "best" club in Denver area is horrid. I HATE how this place treats their female employees. They exploit their dancers by forcing them to pay in order to work..! This particular location has been involved in a lawsuit since April for breaking labor laws and for being involved in wage exploitation. "TOXIC MASCULINITY WELCOME HERE" I came here for a bachelorette party last summer and had a great time. I was blown away by the dancers' athleticism, talent, work ethic, and charisma. You need all of these things to be a good stripper. So I was real disappointed to see Shotgun's sign this week, which essentially gives permission for guests at Shotgun's to assault female staff and dancers. Add this to the former dancers' lawsuit against the club over unpaid wages, and Shotgun's has proven itself to be an establishment that doesn't care about the safety or dignity of the people who work there. The way she spoke to people was condescending and judgmental, and it honestly felt like she was trying to embarrass customers instead of help run the place. It ruined what could've been a fun night. I've been a patron here for many years and lately things have not been the same. I was there on September 29 Tuesday night and witnessed the staff drinking. The Hispanic girl who was bartender at front bar was extremely intoxicated and disappeared for an hour. I then watched as the bar back attempted to cover for her. I did try to approach the bald headed manager yet he was very belligerent and could barely walk. Most of the staff was drinking and service was extremely slow.
