The cost is known up front. A few of the other tours do not include the fee charged by the Navajo. Booking was simple on the website. I actually wanted another date that wasn't available. I emailed GC, and received a quick reply as to potential date changes. From Las Vegas to Antelope Canyon, it's an early call. We had to be ready by 6:30am. Our tour guide kept us informed about what we were doing, -- going to the other hotels for the pickups and how many more stops before we actually get on the road. He gave us information about the area as we were driving out of town. He seemed to know the right amount of talking to do on the trip. Since it was early, some wanted to do a little napping. Our tour guide was very conscientious to make sure we made our appointment to the Navajo tour. He said if we were late, our tickets would be sold to walkups. Going to and from, there were enough bathroom stops and our tour guide made sure to tell us how many hours it would be before our next bathroom break. I felt the driving was safe and responsible but not meek. He had to pass cars or else we probably wouldn't get back until the next day. When he passed, it wasn't reckless. It is a long drive, and it was great leaving the driving to GC Tours. We didn't return to Las Vegas until about 9:00pm. The only disappointment was that GC was very busy and they had to use a rental van so there weren't the captain's chair seats in the van. It was a great tour. Antelope Canyon is beautiful.

A friend in the UK booked this trip through a company overseas for three of us, two who live in…read moreVegas and himself with plans of coming in from the UK but unfortunately his vacation had to be cancelled at the last minute. Being that we have used this tour company before and we are not shy about communicating to make sure we have an amazing experience, we reached out to confirm the trip was still on. We talked to Patsy and being now just two of us, they were not sure if it would make good business sense to still go based on minimal seating requirements as stated on their website. Patsy did offer other days for us to go on the tour, but due to scheduled vacation days already approved other days were not good for us. We were offered the opportunity to purchase the third seat if no one else signed up so the tour could go on as scheduled. We were told they would keep reservations open for this tour on Sunday, until Saturday night to see if anyone else would request it. We called back on Wednesday to let them know we would pay for the third seat if no one signed up. They waited until Sunday morning to charge us for the third seat as no one signed up for the tour that day. For those who are wondering, no we did not get a discounted rate for that third seat because of current fuel prices and the fact that this is a business and they have overhead and have to stay afloat and we were perfectly fine supporting this amazing company. Communication from this company was above and beyond any tour company we have ever dealt with. We started receiving text message around 6:00am Sunday morning to let us know the driver was on his way and when he would be arriving so we didn't have to wait on him and he didn't have to wait on us. It was above and beyond and to us really showed how accommodating this company is if you communicate with them as well. We got to our pickup location 5 minutes early and Mike our driver was there waiting for us. He got us loaded in the suv and explained the tour we would be doing and the things we would be seeing. Our first stop was Janet Airlines. The planes are in a secured area but can be seen through the fence, that's as close as you are going to get to those planes as they transport people to areas that are Top Secret and what's on each plane, the people who have the clearance to fly on them know. It's short stop and then we are on the road to Rachel, NV. Along the way, Mike who loves his job and has done a lot of research not to add he has a degree in history, he gives you an awesome education on the desert and mountains along the way. There is so much more to this desert, how it was formed and the species of plant life that grows out there. There is an extensive wild life that calls the desert home. We stopped at the Extraterrestrial Highway sign which is cool to see and there are some green trees around here which is interesting in the middle of the desert. If you look at the desert as being more than just dirt, the mountains and skies are so majestic and beautiful. We stopped at a Joshua tree and Mike explained the growth and its life cycle. We then go to one gate of Area 51. Mike gives an extensive explanation of this gate and the base. It's pretty cool to see the gate and the men in black as they are referred to sitting up on the hill watching you watching them. We stopped at the Alien mailbox which had always been used as a gathering sight. Area 51 is a Top Secret Base originally created by the CIA and eventually taken over by the U.S. Air Force to test secret military creations to help keep our country protected and free. Then it's on to the Alien Inn for lunch. If you are expecting a Gourmet, organic style lunch, you have sad expectations. This is a very cool little bar, restaurant and small hotel in the middle of no where...it's in Rachel, NV, it was created around the test sight that was put out there because of its remote location. After lunch we were off to the desert to see the hard packed clay which when dry is hard enough to land a plane on. Then we were headed back to Vegas with a stop at a gift shop and the long ride back to Alamo and on to Vegas. Mike is an excellent tour guide and being a Marine (which I put up with), he will tell you straight out, he will share with you all his knowledge he has obtained about anything and everything to and from. If you have questions, ask, he will answer them. If you want to talk, he is willing to talk about any subject you desire. If you desire to just stare out the window like a dog on a long trip, he is ok with that as well. Bottom line, a tour is what you make of it. Tour guides are here to make your experience the best it can be and if you ask questions, it makes it's a more exciting day for all involved. Mike had water and snacks for us and was an awesome host for an awesome company. We HIGHLY recommend this company for any of the tours they provide and have an amazing time.

The tour took about 9 1/2 hours and the conversation, scenery, plus all the points of interest along the way were amazing. We had the best time! Clayton was not only informative, but the topics of conversation flowed easily amongst all of the passengers. He was very considerate with checking in on all of our needs and making sure we were comfortable. I can't recommend this tour high enough! We loved every minute. The day flew by, plus we got amazing photos and memories! Thank you!

We booked Detours of the west for a private guided tour of Valley of Fire for a small group of us…read morefrom Miami. They were profesional, courteous, and friendly. We were picked up by Rachel and Fred, the guide and driver respectively at the hotel. The Mercedes' streamer was clean and super comfortable. We arrived at the first site: Beehives. Rachel explained how the Mormon settlers had named the rock formations as it reminded them of beehives. Rachel let us meander and tak the obligatory pics. Then we went to the pictographs of Atl Rock. These pictographs were carved centuries before by the area's indigenous peoples. Without a Rosetta Stone their meaning is lost to posterity. We then did a hike: Wow. Rachel tolerated the Gen Xers making the obligatory references to Star Wars' Tatooine. She made sure we had plenty of water--and the poor sole--lugged additional water for the group. She was considerate of heat stroke and dryness and had us seek cover in natural shade. Fred was considerate and had the a/c turned on about 15 minutes before our arrival to ensure a cool van. We drove to the visitors center and had a prearranged lunch that Detours had picked for us and which we had prepaid for. Amazing. I can only say good things about Rachel and the driver. Bathrooms are very badly maintained at the park. I would say, nauseating. In addition, there is no where to buy food or water other than at the visitors center and the choices there are paltry.

I took the Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park day trip with National Park Express. Paulie was…read moredriver and tour guide. The early morning pick up at Treasure Island was a breeze. The were eleven of us in a comfortable Mercedes van. Shortly after setting off Paulie pulled over so we could get photos of a gorgeous sunrise. We stopped at Eagles landing gas station/convenience store both ways. Paulie ordered ahead and we stopped at Jimmy John's to pick up our lunches. We watched a 45 minute documentary about the parks that was interesting. Paulie had bottled water and granola for us. The first park was Bryce for 90 minutes. That was sufficient time to hike the Sunrise and Sunset trails. The scenery was majestic. Zion was next and we made multiple photo op stops with Paulie describing everything along the way. Paulie was always clear about time to return to van and kept the tour on schedule. He pointed out an incredible amounts of points of interest along the way., he is very well educated on the parks and local lore. Paulie kept us safe the entire day.

Carlito was a top tier tour guide, I don't understand where he found the energy to give us facts while also being extremely funny the entire time! Like no breaks... just entertaining a bus load of people from start to finish. He added his own personal touch to the tour giving us more than what we paid for and he even has a coyote that he feeds on the way back.. (I didn't believe it either until I saw it myself. He honked a couple of times and the coyote came out of the woods to come get the sandwich that he put out). I would 1000% recommend booking with Carlito in particular. They offer a lunch optional that I didn't partake in, I just brought my own lunch. The lunch they provided was a sandwich from the gas station. They also gave us two water bottles and a granola bar. There are also three restaurant options at the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon Experience by TOUR Bus…read more July 20, 2021 a day to remember for my wife Sofie and I. We took the bus tour from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon and it had to have been the highlight of our vacation. The bus driver, Ron and Guide Charlie were so accommodating I'm not sure what else they could have done to make the trip more comfortable for all 51 persons on board. The views were beautiful and majestic to witness such a wonder of GOD's creation. Charlie and Ron worked so well together from the moment we left the hotel all throughout the trip. I want to sincerely thank them both for their kindness and hospitality, may the good Lord Bless both of you as you continue working these daily tours. The sights were obviously great, but what really made the trip was Erwin himself. This guy is so nice and knowledgeable and just overall a pleasure to be hanging with for an entire day. Erwin, our tour guide, picked us up promptly at our Las Vegas hotel and off we went for our adventure! The van was super snazzy and he even had snacks and water for us. ERWIN was EXCELLENT!!! He was polite, knowledgeable, professional, and he had a great sense of humor. We felt like we had known him forever! Our first stop was for a coffee and to see the Bighorn Sheep at Hemenway Park in Boulder City, NV, then the Hoover Dam, the Joshua Tree Forest, and then Eagle Point and Guano Point. Lunch was at a nearby ranch where the food was great and the staff was friendly! Erwin was a great driver and made us feel safe and he also made sure there were restroom breaks along the way. Look no further and make your reservation now! A private tour is definitely the way to go and was worth every penny. We will definitely use Out West Adventure Tours when we return to Las Vegas.
