I did the Grand Canyon West Rim Skywalk Tour with Grand Adventure Tours on a Sunday in January 2019. Our guide was Luis, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and hospitable - he really attributed to a wonderful experience. We were accompanied by 8 other people that we didn't know, all of whom were very nice. After an early morning pickup at our hotel in Luis' van, we went to three other hotels to pick up the other people for the tour. First stop was the Fabulous Las Vegas sign for photos, and then a group breakfast at McDonalds. We then went on a very picturesque drive out to the Hoover Dam, and we spent over an hour there, enjoying the sights and learning about the structure and its construction. Lastly, we drove out to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. We enjoyed the glass bottomed Skywalk, and then took more photos around Eagle Point. There was plenty of time to check out the gift shops. We saw some replica Native American structures, and enjoyed watching some dancing. We then drove to Guano Point for a picnic lunch, a hike, and plenty more photos. Before the drive back to Vegas, our guide stopped by the Joshua Tree forest, and we snapped a few photos. It was such a wonderful day! FIVE STARS. read more

We had the best day ever! I was in Las Vegas for a conference and wanted to take one day to make the trip to the Grand Canyon as I have never been before. I researched various vendors and decided on Grand Adventure Tours. Not only were they highly rated but they would also pick me up at my hotel and not make me meet them a central location. Plus, the price was competitive. Our day included breakfast and lunch, a stop at the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, a stop at Hoover Dam, a stop in a Joshua Tree forest and then Grand Canyon West with a walk on the Skywalk and another view of the canyon up at Guano Point. It was a full day with a great group of people. Our tour guide, Alfonso, was absolutely outstanding. He was professional, personable, very knowledgeable of the area and all of destinations. We just got back from our tour and it was AMAZING! I had several questions before booking and I always got a fast response. Daryl was VERY informative and shared many interesting facts during the day. We received a text the night before our tour saying there was a cancellation so we were going to take a mini van instead of a the bus; yes please! We were picked up right at the front entrance of our hotel (Luxor) and we were in our way. We stopped for breakfast before getting to the Hoover Dam which we walked across the dam. After that, we were on our way to the canyon! We got to the Skywalk before all the tour buses so we didn't have to wait at all. We then drove to the Rim and my gosh, it was breathtaking! I wish I could explain how magical it was but you just have to see it. I definitely recommend this and can guarantee you won't be disappointed. read more

We never got to go on our trip because of their shop being broke into the night before. No one called, no one showed up to pick us up so our planned out day was ruined. We called and only got a text back talking about the break in. We rescheduled for a few days later but... I contacted LVPD and they saw no police record with any police agency in the area of this break in so after careful consideration and the feeling of being lied to we decided to cancel and ask for a refund. Now they do have a no refund policy but in a situation like this where they cancelled on us we deserved the refund which we were promised would be processed right away. Two weeks later that refund had not shown up so we contacted them again and they finally refunded a few days later. We were so stoked to go on this trip and one day will do the trip but not with deceptive people. We will find a different company that doesn't lie to their clients. Update to this business owners reply. We did not cancel our original trip. The reason was stated above and the owner told of us of a break in and public records in Las Vegas show no such break in. The owner cancelled on our original trip(see text thread) so a refund was absolutely deserved when they cancelled. Yes we tried to reschedule but it cut into our plans for the new day and who knows if they would have even showed up for the next trip anyway. The owner was asked for a police or incident report several times to verify this incident actually happened. I said I would remove my review with that information and he refuses to provide it so there is nothing libel here. I am speaking the truth about the events that happened and the owner threatens me with a libel lawsuit. You can't sue for libel when there are no other supporting facts to counter my review. read more

DO NOT BOOK A TOUR. They picked us up in a van with a cracked windshield and faulty AC. With 40 minutes left of the trip the AC went out completely. Yes it was July and the heat was terrible but if they knew that there was a problem the tour should have been canceled. We were sick the rest of the day and my youngest I thought I would need to take to the ER. I contacted them and they apologized and said they would issue a refund but when they saw my google review they slammed me in their response and said they wouldn't do a refund. They apparently had contacted the other guests who said I was rude. I am from Wisconsin, if you bump into me I apologize. While the AC being broken may have been a one off, they chose to continue the tour which risked our health and then to chose not refund us but instead diss us online? Sure they have a good rating, but do you want to chance being the next unfortunate guest? Check out their Facebook for other times they attacked people for a bad rating. Edit to add: I keep adding reviews everywhere because I didn't act like an ass, and I wasn't rude. Before I posted my first review I waited a week after the tour so they could reach out and apologize, but they didn't so I wrote them an email and waited another week for a response. When I didn't get one I left the review. And yeah its insulting to say my behavior was so bad my kids had to apologize for me. My first email was given an apology and refund with the excuse their place was broken into and stuff was wrecked. My review was given a "this person sucked so hard she doesn't get a refund". So they didn't talk to the tour guide before they said Id get a refund? They asked the other guests about my behavior over email? They didn't negate anything I said in my email, because it was all a fact. The van was wrecked and not from a pebble probably the people that broke in, the AC wasn't working properly and went out the last 40 min. It was a 120 day. They should have cancelled the tour. We did the south rim at sunset tour. It is worth the long ride to see the South Rim! Positive: Our tour guide, Alfonso, was amazingly knowledgeable! He made sure we saw everything and knew what we were looking at. He took different routes there and back so we could see different things. I would recommend requesting him as your guide for the simple reason that he is so knowledgeable. Negative: The company needs to invest in their vehicles. The van they gave Alfonso had a broken windshield and a broken door! (I see that someone else referred to this before in another review) To summarize, the South Rim is amazing, Alfonso is very nice and knowledgeable, but the vehicle they use is not appropriate for a tour group. Feb 20/24 The day was a long one. we left Vegas at 6 am and got back at 7:15 pm. we visited the Hoover Dam on a walking tour as well as the Grand Canyon ( including Skywalk) on a walking tour. make sure you are up to all of this. Not only was the day so interesting, but our guide, Alphonso Vargas, was fabulous. Personable and extremely knowledgeable. He was the icing on the cake. My only negative was the van. I went on the tour (Grand Canyon / Hoover Dam) on the 10th September with Alfonso and had one of the best Small Group Tours ever. The car was continously chilled to a pleasant/refreshing temperature, great water supply, sufficient little "nature breaks" and a caring guide. I don't think there's anything on the entire route Alfonso wouldn't be able to explain to you. From History, over factual information, geographical pin Pointing, zoological & botanical facts to funny anecdotes and stories (and I feel plenty more) He was a treasure trove of information and entertainment. When I booked (about 6 months in advance) I was quickly contacted within a few days to confirm pick up from hotel and given a mobile number in case of issues. I found the whole process, from booking, communication in between and the trip itself easy and efficient. This company started off with good stars when I emailed them a month before our trip to Vegas to ask a question. I noticed on their website that they didn't have any Fridays available for the South Rim walking tour, and that is when my two friends and I wanted to book one. I received a prompt response saying that they normally don't do the walking tours on Friday, but she would open it up on the website for us. Awesome! I was relieved when we received a reminder email a few days before our tour, making sure we knew the itinerary and what time we would be picked up from our hotel. I read everything on their website about 3 times before the tour, and everything was completely accurate. 5 Stars because I really felt that we got a great value. They pick you up right from your hotel, breakfast & lunch is included, and the ride doesn't really feel that long because you stop every hour or so. Our tour only had 8 people on it, so we had plenty of room on the van to spread out with our stuff. The picnic at the beginning of the tour was beautiful, as it was the first view of the canyon we saw. The views only kept getting better as time went on!! Our tour guide took awesome pictures of us. My favorite part was a .07 mile walk to the next overlook, and the trail was literally on the edge of a cliff overlooking the huge canyon. It was insane. We were safe the whole time though. This tour was awesome! I did such extensive research on Grand Canyon tours to maximize our trip. Don't book a tour with the West rim if you want to actually go into the Grand Canyon State Park. This is not in the park it is, I believe, on an Indian reservation. I have read (and heard) it is highly "tourist-y" due to the Skywalk. I will tell you the South rim is breathtaking and it is all-inclusive in your tour package and won't charge you extra for the views. They charge extra for the Skywalk and it is an arm and a leg. My experience with this tour was exactly what we were looking for. Chad was our tour guide and you can tell he loves his job. The number of people in the tour is small which is nice. You get more of a personable feel to it. Chad gave us the run down of the history of the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, the man knew his stuff! We also received a breakfast and a lunch included with PLENTY of water. Another wonderful thing about Chad was that he was very willing to give everyone great photo opportunities. Stopped at McDonald's on the way for breakfast, lunch is provided as well. We were the only two on this tour so Chad picked us up in an SUV at our hotel!. What a fantastic day! We swung through McDonalds and ordered breakfast to go. Be prepared for a 4 hour drive. We stopped in several fun spots and Chad never once rolled his eyes at "When is our next bathroom stop?". Chad was knowledgeable and gave us tons of great info about the area. He was very patient with these old people who were slow and especially helpful to this clumsy lady who was not steady on her feet. He took all the pics we asked for and knew some beautiful spots for more. GAT packs a picnic lunch and it was perfect. Chad found an amazing view for us to enjoy our lunch. We stayed for sunset and headed back to Las Vegas to arrive at 10pm. It was a long (14 hour) day and worth every moment. GAT kept us up to date on pick up info. I am sure there are lots of tour companies for the Grand canyon out of Las Vegas but I bet Grand Adventure Tours is the top one! read more

Everything was perfect. Well organized with amazing tour guide Chad. Went late March but had bad enough luck that it rained and snowed most of the ride there with light snow at the canyon. It was super foggy and I was not mad about it, theres nothing anyone could do about it. However, there was no walking tour. It would be nice to actually to have hiked a trail even just for a little but it didnt end up happening. The fog cleared up in one area and chad was so knowledgeable that we were able to take some great photos for a good half hour. When we got back to the car he said we could stay a little longer or just head home. Unfortunately my tour mates, who were a bit older, wanted to leave. So I was bummed out that me and my cousin, who flew from California, didnt get to go inside the canyon. We had the sunset tour and literally left right before it began :( Highly recommend the company, one of the better ones, but dont bother coming in the fall or winter months. I even say skip April and go in May. Hoover Dam was a great add on, but to the company, I say either spend less time at Route 66 or skip altogether. Not worth it. Absolutely beautiful place and experience especially if you dont want to drive yourself. Other sidenotes, we had a full group, yet they gave us a smaller vehicle instead of the larger one they used so each seat was filled up. Lastly, those sandwiches were delicious lol read more

The sunset tour was the longest but was the best. Alfonso picked us up at 6:30 and stopped at the perfect moments on the way to the Grand Canyon. It was a small van with only 4 of us. He helped us take pictures at the perfect spots and also sent us pictures from his phone. The hover dam and Route 66 was nice. Alfonso was a perfect tour guide walking with us the whole way to the best place to watch the sunset. The drive home was 4 hours but we all slept. The tour guide is very friendly and knowledgable. He shows us all the hidden treasure throughout the whole trip. He will tell you all the insiders stories, history, fun facts throughout your whole trip. So we definitely not bored throughout the hours commute between Hoover dam and Grand Canyon. He also points out the best way, beat Location to take pictures and help us to take pictures throughout the whole trip. We got a lot of stunning, breath taking pictures of Grand Canyon. We wanted to take a break midway through our trip from the bustling Vegas strip and decided to take a tour. After reading some sites decided that these tours were the way to go. Our tour guide picked us up on time, the group was matched extremely well, and we just flowed from place to place. We missed all the long lines and barely had to wait it was great!! I normally would wait until it's been more than 20 minutes since I finished an activity to rant or rave on yelp but I think this is a special occasion! The tour guide was right on time picking us up from our hotel, and then we were off! We were lucky to have Chad and he introduced himself to us and actually remembered our names/where we ere from! It was a small group and it felt very personal. You can tell chad loves his job, which runs off on the group and makes everyone excited to be there too! I was impressed by the great attitudes of the group, and the diversity! We had people from Netherlands, Scotland, California and the UK! Obviously this doesn't have anything to do with the tour company- but it was really cool! First stop, McDonald's for breakfast. It was McDonald's, but we could eat as much as we wanted and I was ready to go! Along the way, we hit Route 66, and the Hoover Dam which were great! Chad had a TON of great knowledge about all of the stops and things along the way, as well as about the forming of Las Vegas! The Grand Canyon of course was the highlight and watching the sun go down over the canton was truly humbling. Chad accommodated our picky food request (PB&j) and had some extra snacks which was nice, and had plenty of water for us on the bus! The walking was not extensive and was PERFECT for me and my friend and the whole group seemed satisfied too. I had fun and leaned a lot. Also made some friends along the way! This was the trip of a lifetime -- a bucket list kind of thing -- so a lot was riding on it. Trayce, our guide on the winter Sunset Tour, not only delivered, I think she's kind of my new best friend. This lady is the bomb diggity. She's not only an awesome guide, she's a decent human being; the life-of-the-party sort of person. The Hoover Dam was freakin' awesome, and we never got tired of the dam jokes (wink). The gift shop was fun and the lady inside was a hoot. We were also super appreciative of Trayce taking photos of us in front of the dam, including panoramic pix on my iPhone that even I didn't know how to take! And not only did Trayce know everything about the area, she was making jokes on text before she even picked us up. Our kind of peop. We felt like kindergartners on the class trip with the cool mom. (They keep trying to feed you and give you water, which was awesome!...Lol.) We were also super psyched when she took us to Seligman and let us root around in the Route 66 stores. Sooo cool! We thought it would be just a stop at a gift shop. We didn't know it would be a whole Route 66 town and that Trayce would let us go to each store and check it out. She never rushed us and in fact even gave us over the time if we needed it. And my wife, who has bladder issues, was especially grateful that Trayce asked so often if we needed rest stops and stopped every time we needed them. A great big thank you for that one! While the drive can be long, it went by quickly because Trayce was like a little stand up comic in the front seat. It was adorable. We laughed so hard at times we cried. (And thanks Trayce for the awesome tunes. Except for "Livin' La Vida Loca." Still can't get that out of my head 4 days later! LOL.) Finally arriving at the Grand Canyon she takes you to the populated area first, but then saves the south rim and the hike for last and it is just breathtaking. As the plaque in the visitor center quoting Teddy Roosevelt says: Every American should visit the Grand Canyon. Indeed. And every American should be so blessed as to have Trayce as a guide. The Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular wonders of the world -- the beauty of the sun setting on the red rocks...just breathtaking -- and we saw an Elk and an adorable herd of Mule Deer, including new fawns, to boot. Like I said, it was the trip of a lifetime, and we want to say a great big thank you to Grand Adventures and an even bigger thank you to Trayce. Wife and I decided the day before to go to Las Vegas and see the Grand Canyon. Called Grand Adventures Tours and spoke with Darrell, the owner, to see if he could squeeze us in for a small group tour to the West Rim the next day and he was able to do it. Our tour guide, Chad, picked us up the next morning at our hotel and, along with 8 great people visiting from Wales, we had a great time touring the West Rim, Joshua Tree forest and Hoover Dam. Chad was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the various areas we visited and the area in general. He even recommended a restaurant near our hotel (McMullins Irish Pub) that served the best Corned Beef and Cabbage that I have ever eaten. If I could give a 6 Star rating or higher, I would. Reading all these posts, my wife and I were really looking forward to this tour. The tour itself was pretty amazing, the logistics were horrible. We were picked up in a passenger van with a cracked windshield, the sliding door was damaged to the point the door did not seal properly, and the seat cushion was so worn-out, I literally sat on the springs the entire ride. We sat on the first row directly behind the driver's row. I had a view of everything including what the driver was looking through, a cracked windshield with about a six inch crack on the driver's side corner. I could see through the sliding door jam as it was no longer aligned properly. And like I said, I was sitting on springs. As this was a long drive, this clearly was uncomfortable. Lastly, again I could view everything, I'm not sure if the driver was falling asleep or thought a turn, that was miles ahead, was near but he approached a right turn WAY too fast and then decided to go straight. This resulted with the van hitting the curb dirt which jolted the entire van. The walking tour was the only part really enjoyable, the accommodations there and back, certainly Not. At this price I would have expected much more. Oh, plus one of the visitors went missing for some time. If not for the actual tour, I would not give this company a 2. read more

I'll always remember Saturday March 26, 2016, the day I took the Grand Canyon Sunset Tour. I was on a five day vacation in Las Vegas and knew even before I got there I'd devote one day to seeing the Grand Canyon. I know Vegas is fun but how could you be that close to the Grand Canyon without wanting to see it? If you're going, I recommend reserving your spot on the tour at least a week in advance because they keep the tour groups small. I was lucky they had one spot remaining for the Saturday Sunset Tour. It cost exactly $160. Grand-Adventures does tours to both the West and South Rims of the canyon. My particular tour was to the South Rim but in the past I've been to the West Rim, albeit with a different tour company. Most people visiting Vegas choose the West Rim tour (even though its $185) for these reasons: It is closer (only a little over two hours drive) and the Skywalk (a see-thru glass balcony that extends over the edge of the canyon) is there. The South Rim is about a four hour drive, but in my opinion the South Rim has the better views. I was staying at the Casino Royale, so all I had to do was walk across the street to the Mirage Hotel where the tour van was already waiting to pick me up. The van is white with the words Grand-Adventures written on the sides. It made two more stops to pick the rest of the people going. A little after 7:45am everyone was boarded and our all-day adventure began. Our group was 10 people (including the driver/tour guide) and diverse, There was a cute woman from Dubai, an Asian American family from California, some people from Hong Kong who were visiting the States, myself, and the driver/tour guide named Chad. Chad is an energetic, wiry white male who appears to be in his 30s, has a ready smile and a true passion for his job. He knows everything you'd want to ask about Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and points in between. He did a great job of getting us all familiar and comfortable with each other despite our varying backgrounds. Our first tour stop was to a McDonald's in the suburbs for breakfast. We could order whatever we wanted and it was paid for by Grand-Adventures. We were given time to eat inside and use the restroom. Important note: The restroom at this McDonald's is going to be the cleanest one you see all day. The other restrooms you come across at various gas stations/convenient stores going to the Grand Canyon, at the actual Grand Canyon and coming back from it are the kind you'll want to go in, do your business, and exit as soon as possible. This is not Grand-Adventures fault though. We then made a stop for a few minutes at the Hoover Dam. We were at the back part of it but still got good views of it and the Pat Tillman Bridge. Chad made sure we all had time to take pictures and even took photos of us with our own cameras. From there we were on our way to Route 66 (Seligman, AZ in particular). I want to take to time to stress the scenery from the time we left suburban Vegas to Arizona and back again. It is serene; both mountainous and desert combined. When Grand-Adventures said Route 66 was part of our tour, I didn't think it would be anything impressive. I thought it was just going to be a Route 66 sign and that's it. I couldn't have been more wrong. Seligman, AZ is the dusty but charming small town that inspired the animated movie Cars. It resembles what you'd expect a 1950s small southwestern town to look like, with one main street and a collection of antique cars outside most of the mom & pop restaurants/souvenir shops. The town is barely surviving but the people are proud and friendly. Even the folks in the antique shop that had the Rebel flag flying outside were nice. Now we were off to the Grand Canyon. There was a huge traffic jam right outside Grand Canyon National Park but after we entered the crowd spread out. Chad served us the sandwiches we had ordered along with grapes and Girl Scout cookies. After eating we walked a trail and saw elk grazing as we approached an even better view of the most beautiful site on earth: The one & only Grand Canyon! Nothing quite prepares you for what it's like to see it in person. The view is intimidatingly gorgeous. As far as the eyes can see, there is nothing but the Grand Canyon. Chad, with his rock climbing background had no qualms about standing right on the edge of the canyon. His enthusiasm was so great that before long all of us took turns standing near the edge as he took photos of each of us individually. We were there until the sun majestically set and the weather instantly cooled. We made it back to Vegas a little after 11pm. As we were coming down the valley we saw a spectacular view of Vegas all lit up and waiting for us. I felt sad the tour had ended because I know I may never see those people I spent the whole day with again. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best days of my life. read more

Original my wife And I booked the South Rim tour. But Ended up we were pumped into the West rim tour with DAVID. However, out of my expectations, It was an informative, enjoyable tour. David is knowledgeable about the history of La Vegas, Hover Dam and the Grand Canyon which he has shared those info during our trip and the walking tour. And we were well taken care of the entirety trip, toilet break and bottle water. Definitely would recommend the tour to people who would like to visit the Grand Canyon. read more

I had a great trip this weekend with Grand-Adventures. After trying to decide whether it was cheaper to do the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam on our own or as a tour, we realized the price difference was actually not too much and the tour would allow us to sit back and relax/nap in the van. The southern rim of the Grand Canyon is the closest part to Vegas (about 2.5 hours away). The Sky walk and shuttle buses at the Canyon are not that cheap, but the tour cost includes these and the guide gets everything for you, so you never have to wait in line. Also the cost covers meals, bottled waters, and snacks. For two people it costs ~$350. But tell me what you can find in Vegas that will teach & entertain you, feed you, and show you one of the 7 wonders of the world for 12 hrs at that price? Bret was our guide and did an awesome job the entire day. He picked us up in a small van at our hotel right on time (6:30AM). I actually enjoyed it because the van felt cozy with only four rows to it (they only have two people in each 3 seat row, so there is plenty of room to relax). Also, you are not wasting your time waiting for 20-30 people to get on an off a big tour bus like other groups we saw. Within the first hour, Bret pretty much knew everyone's names in the tour and was extremely conversational with us. Not in a fake, this is my job way- but in a real genuine, down to earth way. He would teach us what he knew, answered questions, but never made us feel we had to be stuck to his side. Bret let us do our own thing if we wanted and gave us the proper safety warnings and check back times when needed. 1st Stop: McDonald's (you order whatever you want and the guide will pay) and the Vegas sign which has a really fascinating history I learned..... 2nd stop: Grand Canyon. The Sky-Walk is neat. I hate glass bottom bridges so I barely looked down on it. But everyone else seemed to really enjoy it. Key to know: you are not allowed to bring cameras on it (they have people taking photos that are $30 each). The Guano mines stop was next and a beautiful view that was not crowded. I liked this stop more since it was less commercial. You could climb up on a rock and just sit quietly, taking in the beautiful landscape with the Colorado river below. Bret had home-style cooked Arby's sandwiches for us (not fast food tasting, actually a good deli sandwich for those of you who have not tried it), cookies, and grapes. It was also 95 degrees that day, so he was constantly making sure we had enough water and were not getting too hot. 3rd: Hoover Dam- we did the bird's eye bridge view, where you could see the whole thing, but never walked on the dam. At first I was a little bummed, but the scorching heat and fatigue of being on the road all day made me happy to skip that part too. At the end of the day, he dropped us off at our hotel (6:30PM) and I felt that trip was the highlight of my Vegas trip.
