Read all the one star reviews. They are more detailed than I am going to be because the experiences are very similar. Three years ago, my friends and I liked Grace and to her credit she does do a nice manicure. But holy moley- when you ask her to trim a hang nail or which shade of pink is more current, she is not nice! if you ask her to fix a smudge she gives you complete silent treatment. It's so childish. What's worse is she tells you she is too busy to book another appt. And that even in two weeks she has no time. What she is really saying is she doesn't want give you manicures. Meanwhile she answers her phone every 10 minutes booking appts. For people the same day, the next day, etc. It's outrageous and a blatant lie. It's serious mean girl behavior. But it's nothing compared to Wilson who is threatening and jumps out of his chair and yells at customers about anything like asking for clarification of different packages. He is so close to you that it's frightening and you can barely understand the points he is making because they aren't true. . He yelled at one customer ( a sweet senior citizen) to sit back down and he is going to take off the polish he just applied. . "Sit back down - sit back down!" He was in her face and pointing to the chair to sit in. There are many, many salons in the area - they are kind people - never have I ever heard employees be so angry to customer after customer. I stumbled upon this place today when I was in Hoboken. I had an amazing experience and will go back when I'm in town. My toes and nails look great and the icing on the cake was the fabulous hydrotherapy head massage. Omg - don't walk- run!!! It was awesome and I'm telling all my friends about it. The techs were all skilled and friendly but also let u have your quiet time. It was a relaxing and quiet place despite many people getting services. He had absolutely no idea what he was doing and then hovered over me for his tip (which I left, despite the terrible work). Great manager/owner. Beautiful colors to choose from. Has a massage chair and TVs. Beautiful inside though I'd say some are fantastic at nails and there's the newer people that need to do more practice as my grandma left with a bad taste. Had a TERRIBLE experience with WILSON. He was very rude and dismissive from the get-go. Would pretend as if he doesn't hear me when he's right in front of me (not a language barrier ) He kept on filing my skin around my nail to the point where it almost bled and he would act very upset when I would slightly move from the pain, kept on nodding his head as if I'm causing him Discomfort. He did a terrible job at shaping my nails to achieve the Almond shape. On top of that they charge an extra $5 for the almond shape. I have never had any salon charge extra for shaping & I had came in with almond shape already too. At one point he started yelling at one of his colleagues in their language, in front of the clients. Not an amazing experience to say the least. The man that did my nails ( Wilson I believe was his name) was rude, up charged me for everything and at the end demanded a 20% tip. The gel manicure was subpar at best, he cut me and said nothing then made me feel stupid for asking questions. Honestly I just paid and got the heck out of there. Maybe they treat their regular clients better but I was just visiting. I typically don't write reviews but after the experience I had in this salon today I needed to at least let others know. I just moved to the downtown area and found this shop via google. I visited the shop three times seeing Grace all three times (because she got great reviews) and Wilson once (and he did not do a great job with the nail fix I had, and I didn't even say anything). On this last trip in I mentioned that my nails were separating from the dip powder and asked if she could place more product there to ensure that they would last the two weeks. I was polite and honestly didn't even think twice about and let her complete my service. They came out great. When I went to rebook at the end of the service she told me I could book with another tech but she couldn't see me because she was too busy. I asked what had changed. She just kept repeating that she was busy and worked too hard. Obviously upset I had questioned her work. She was very rude and made me feel awful. I have never felt this way in any nail shop and I can't believe that she would treat any customer this way, let alone someone who tips well and would never miss an appointment. Also someone new into town...what an awful impression. I certainly wasn't telling her how to do her job just what I needed adjusted to justify the cost of my service and having it done correctly. Of course I won't be returning, and I hope that she doesn't treat anyone else this way again. Too bad because I love to support local but will find another place to spend my money. I have been looking for a great nail salon in Sarasota since October and was willing to pay the higher prices and drive 30 minutes...... I was very disappointed. I get my nails and pedicure every 2 weeks and having been doing so for years.... I'm pretty experienced and admittedly picky. I want to be happy during and after my visit. Not one word was spoken to me and I am not exaggerating, I was actually uncomfortable ....I was not offered anything to drink... But... I can live with all that if I have a great pedicure and I'm happy with my gel polish.... I've never had such a minimal pedicure before? She barely buffed my feet and I don't have ugly dry feet (yet), she put some lotion on, massaged and called it a pedicure? Very pleasant experience. Wilson pays attention to details and did a wonderful job cutting and shaping my nails. He did a great job with my cuticles which is not easy. He tried his hardest to do the dip style "polish" and it came out looking like I touched a baggie when I had wet nail polish. He tried to correct the issue but only one nail truly looks smooth and shiny. I will continue going here but I may not try the dip method with Wilson. I will see how long it lasts .... read more

Woo Hoo! A NYC nail salon right here in downtown! NYC staff (gracious and professional) and NYC prices. Walked in yesterday without an appointment. Short wait, so caught some sun on a bench outside. Jay did an awesome job on my mani-pedi (basic doesn't include scrub, but for $45...). We had a lovely conversation while he expertly shaped and polished my nails. I'd brought my own Zoya nail polish - but was thrilled to see they have almost a full panel of Zoya colors. If I could give this salon 0 stars, I would. Spent about 25 minutes in this salon and it was one of my worst salon experiences. I had done a foot peel a couple weeks ago so my feet were flaky and peeling. The entire time I sat in the pedicure chair my nail tech and the one aside her were being very disrespectful and talking rudely about my feet. I could read it in their body language, facial expressions and tone of voice. Not only was it very blatant that they were treating me poorly, they were laughing very loudly as well. When I started to give off the body language that I was uncomfortable, they immediately stopped talking, laughing, and making jokes all together. So it was very obvious that they caught my discomfort and felt guilty. They were making me feel very uncomfortable and it was a knock to my self esteem. It came to a point where I felt like I needed to excuse myself because I was extremely uncomfortable. And the entire staff decided to argue with me claiming that nothing ever happened. While this was happening, the male employee got the other customer that was there involved, talking about me yet again. The manicure and a pedicure Cyndy did for me and it was perfection! She did a beautiful job of prepping and cleaning up before painting. All the ends of my nails were straight across which really makes a difference in appearance. The polish was applied lawlessly.
