EPIC FAIL This place is clean and seats are comfy. IMAX for Skyfall was awesome but the way the management handled a bungle gets them a failing grade. As the movie started, we had sound but no video and it seems there was no one in the projector room as it went on for five minutes with the crowd getting unruly. After another 10 minutes they get it going. A minor inconvenience. As we were leaving, management tries to make amends by giving people vouchers as they leave. The problem is that three employees were at the only exit trying to trade stubs for vouchers caused the full theater crowd to pool all the way back into the theater. This caused a potentially dangerous situation needlessly. Poor judgement. read more

Lux level is such a nice idea. Big cushy seats and restaurant service. Too bad the drinks are heinous concoctions of too little alcohol and too much sour mix. The food is pub grub, only not even good pub grub. It's greasy and tasteless. Every time we go, we keep hoping, but we're disappointed every time. Might as well go to Braintree and pay less for the comfy chairs and eat elsewhere. I'd be willing to pay the premium prices for a decent drink and food. As it is, it's not worth it. read more

This theater is huge. They've obviously done a lot of renovations to improve it so you would think that they would put some effort into training their employees. First off, parking wasn't bad. Found a spot after a minute or two. Expected to wait in a short line and that was fine too. Tickets were 13.75. Wow. Apparently I haven't been to the movies in a while. Sticker shock for sure. Saw that they sell booze. That was cool. Stood in line for what seemed like forever. Only one cashier working at the ground level area. Should of been at least two. I order a bottled water for 4.25!!! After I pay she says "Oh, we just put the water in the fridge so it's not cold". What? $4.25 for room temperature water. Whatever. I took it because i didn't want to miss the movie. Also, why the heck do you have to pick your seats before going into the theater now? I don't like this. What if you have to sit next to people being loud or on their cell phone, you can't just get up and move anymore. Game room on the ground level was small. I was a little too excited, kid at heart here, to see a Batmobile car game. $1.00 would of been fine to throw in the machine and play but, nope, they don't make it easy. You have to get a game card and put money on that and then you can swipe it to play in the arcade. Seats were comfortable and the picture and sound quality was great. 15 years ago Showcase Cinema in Randolph was the place you drove to when a highly anticipated movie was released. However, with many of the older cinemas now fully modernized with stadium seating, recliners, beefy audio systems, Showcase seems to be lagging a bit behind. We bought our tickets ahead of time to avoid any potential line, and it was good that we did because the line was to the door. I didn't bother printing my tickets because this is 2017 and you can just scan my ticket code right? Not here. The usher at the theater door told me we need to go to the customer service desk and have them printed. Annnnnd of course that line was just as long as any of the others. I happened to spot a self service kiosk that wasn't in use and figured I'd give it a try. Sure enough, after entering my confirmation code I had my tickets in hand in 30 seconds. Wtf didn't the usher send us there instead? How many of the people in the customer service line are waiting there unnecessarily? Why isn't management properly training it's staff and making full use of the kiosks that it installed. Also, self service kiosks where in banks of two and three, yet everyone that I saw had a a fairly long line with everyone using the middle kiosk exclusively and ignoring the other two. Why wouldn't the cinema clearly mark that all three are available to use? Why not put up those snappy red velvet ropes to show three distinct lines for three distinct kiosks? Baffling. If not for the overworked, yet polite and helpful waitress in our Lux level, I would have given this place two stars. The sound, picture and seating were solid. read more

Caught movie right on time, easy getting popcorn and sodas quickly so that was a plus, was cutting it close so didn't look into other options... I didn't see the bar, movie was nice, my chair was a little squeaky, my friend's chair was malfunctioning... it wasn't a recliner seat but stayed reclining in a uncomfortable position fortunately we were to just move over 2 seats and problem solved. Came in the pouring rain, massive puddle my feet are soaked through to my skin and I still have to sit through a 2 hour movie with wet feet. The Showcase Cinema in Randolph is both a movie theater AND a fall out shelter. So now, when nuclear holocaust rains down on us from above, we'll be safely ensconced in our plush rocking stadium seats, with lots of leg room, cacophonous sound, and screens the size of a football field. No better way to celebrate the End of Days than taking in the latest Hollywood pabulum 200 yards below ground. But seriously, for the greater Boston area, they don't come much bigger or burlier than Randolph. Nothing in Boston can even compete with this monstrosity in terms of theater size per number of movies. Boston Common may boast 19 screens, but most of them are in small cramped theaters. Fenway has two semi-largish theaters tucked away in the back, but the rest are rather paltry. Not so Randolph - every screen is overwhelmingly ginormous. And how do they accomplish this mean feat - by boring straight through to the bowels of the Earth. Most of the theaters here are three stories below ground, which, for some reason has always struck me as being just totally awesome. I've been to my fair share of movie theaters and I found Showcase Cinemas excellent. In California, I grew up with Century 9 in Pinole (where rats fell from the ceiling). In high school, the Brendan Theaters in Concord opened up and that place was the niiiiice theater. AMC Emeryville soon replaced it and Sony Metreon in San Francisco became the premier place to watch a movie. Now I go to the Manhattan theaters (crowded but okay) and settle for my local AMC Loews Newport in Jersey City, NJ (it has mice). Showcase Cinemas puts all of these theaters to shame. Showcase Cinemas is a huge multiplex. The seats are comfortable and there is so much room in the rows that if someone gets up to walk through, you don't have to crouch your legs or stand up to let them pass by. There was no popcorn on the floor, no stains on the seats, and no vermin! The stairs are lit up like a Broadway show and they have mall food like Nathan's Hot Dogs and butter pretzels! There is Lux Level seating available which can be thought of similar to club level seats at a baseball stadium. The price is more expensive but you get special service like restaurant menus and waiter service. This is a bit much for me. The seats are at the top of the theater and far away from the screen. I like to sit in the middle and find the prices of movies high enough. I don't need to spend $50 on a night at the movies (avg. for 2 people). The only place where I would want to drink beer and eat nachos while watching a movie would be the Parkway Speakeasy in Oakland. Long live the Parkway! I can see why people would drive out to this theater. It's definitely one of those theaters you go to on opening nights. It's perfect for teens, families, and date nights. read more

Love this theater. Usually busy on the weekends and opening night of popular movies, but if you time it right you can get the perfect seat with no one around you. Usually there's at two screens per movie out, which is good because if one is sold out you only have to wait about an hour or so if you want to wait. There's Lux seating here, but I haven't experienced it... however, I hear that it's good. If you are going to come here after dinner, go to Not Your Average Joe's, they sell discounted movie tickets with your meal. If you go there after the movie, show your stub and you get a discount on your food. Not a bad deal!! read more

We checked website for Randolph MA location. The movie we wanted to see was listed at 1:25 pm. When we got to the theater we found that actual movie times disagreed with website listing. We left without seeing a movie. Very disappointed. Some reclining seats do not recline because people pull plugs to recharge cell phones. Recliners should be hard-wired into electric supply to prevent this. Replugging requires contortionism. Bathrooms were renovated a few years ago. Still some fixtures are broken. Some hand soap dispensers are empty. Cleaning crews put barriers in front of bathroom entrances. Not well managed. read more

Very disappointed of the service here on July 26 2016. Brought my family to watch Ghost Buster order curly fries and mini dogs for my kids. Workers parri and Julin, on second level just stand around. Julin walks around chatting with other female customers not taking orders. When he notice that the line was getting too long he decide to walk out and chat with his friends. I confront the associate parri about my orders after 15 min past by, since she started to serve others behind me. Parri then states after I had been waiting for 20 mins, oh we ran out of your order. I went to speak with the manager kelly talbot about the poor customer service, she stated that I should return after the movie for the refund. When I return she was no where to be found. I have to says this is the worst customer service. Randolph showcase cinema is not a place for family entertainment no more. I bought tickets for my fiancé and I for a lux level movie, as we often go see them in Dedham, but the movie was sold out. The theater itself and the food was fine, as this review is rather about the experience. When checking my credit card statement the following week, I noticed the total charged was not reflective of what I left for a tip. In other words, the server altered the receipt to leave herself a better tip. I called and spoke to the GM Kelly, who initially was helpful telling me she would look into it. She called me back a week later, admitting that the charged amount was not reflective of what I indicated when signing, and hoped to rectify the situation by sending me two tickets to see another movie. Perfect. This was at this point over 5 weeks ago and I still have not received them. Having an employee steal from customers is bad enough, but having the manager not follow through on her word is even worse. Obviously, we will not be returning. read more

If you've never been here before, and you don't understand what the Lux Level is. This can be really confusing: "Go down the escalators to theater 13", so you go down the escalator, and there's the entrance. You hand the guy your tickets, and he says, "Nope, you have to go down another level." What? Am I steerage? Why is the Titanic soundtrack playing through my head? You eventually go down ANOTHER escalator to the lowest level, and you find seats, sit down, and spend the entire 2 hours of Indiana Jones 4 wondering what the Lux Level is like... I've been probably in all movie theaters in Boston. Some of them was good some worth but this is one of the best. The seats are ex-trimly comfortable. The best part is that the arm rest moving so if you go there with your couple it's very nice because u can hug each other and enjoy movie or if you cold and forgot your jacket your friend can give you a warm hug :) The theater has lot's of seating and lot's auditorium so there's not a problem to find best location to watch movie plus if you late then wait just 30 min and they will show movie in other auditorium. Stuff is very friendly, very clean even the lady bathrooms. Great place to see movie and relax with friends. read more

For some reason I always feel like I have to rush here to get tickets and a seat. But no matter when I've arrived that's never really been a problem. I did get advanced tickets for special things like midnight screenings of The Simpsons movie, Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia. Also, I also smuggle in my own snacks and have never been apprehended (whew!). Pros: The seats are super comfy, automated ticket vending machines, the screens are nice, tons of parking, and they offer sweet showings of Red Sox games and stuff. Tried to exchange tickets for an earlier show time. The lady at customer service told two couples infront of us that it was sold out. I knew the lower seats were not sold out and told her. She said she didn't know how to ring up the lower non reclining seats... (customer service should know how to do this). We got into the movie and it was fine. They can't exchange tickets bought from movie tickets.com (which I tried emailing two days before and they never replied)I wouldnt have wrote this review if it was just that but the bartender charged an extra ten dollars. Considering we go to the movies 4 times (sometimes more) a month! I figures I'd update my review! A lot has happened since I've reviewsd Showcase Cinema! They now have a card called "Starpass" that you can use that everytime you use you receive points on tickets, drinks and food! Then in return you also get free tickets and popcorn or drinks! It's a great card and a MUST for people like myself who are at the theater constantly! The best time to go to the movies in on Bargain Tuesdays which is only $7.50 for the any movie unless it's 3-D or Imax then it's $9.50! It really is so worth it! It's really a great theater! They all know us by name and really are super nice to us! We really like it here a lot! I do not go to the Lux at all anymore. I don't think it's worth the money! **This review is just for the Lux Level, not the actual quality of the theater.** I think I'm just not a "Lux Level" kinda girl. I was annoyed with the waitress service. She talked to me during the previews--aka the BEST part of the movies--and when i needed her during the movie (when my glass was cracked) she didn't come by for at least 15 minutes. Speaking of my drink- I'm pretty sure there was zero alcohol in my Vodka Iced Tea Lemonade. Too sweet and tasted just like the lemonade from the fountain machine. My food was gross. I ordered the Tandoori Flat bread (there is NOTHING remotely Indian about this...prosciutto and balsamic and "brie" on a flat bread?? talk about bad advertising). I say "brie" lightly because I was definitely eating melted American cheese slices disguised as Brie. Simply awful. I hated how the waitresses were in my way and were blocking the screen on at least 3 occasions. And i hated the banter from my neighboring party with the waitress. Next time I see a movie it's popcorn and soda all the way. Considering Lux Level is $25, I'd rather spend the normal $10 on a ticket and save the $15 for a quality meal at any of the neighboring restaurants....yes, even Outback would be considered quality over this garbage. read more

be sure to go to the bathroom before you leave. staff refused to let me use the bathroom as I was walking out after spending over 2 hours in the movie. she clearly saw me looking for the bathroom and told me I could not use it since I had already used my ticket. appeared to be a miserable, unpleasant, employee who needs to be trained in customer service. I will definitely not go back to this theater. I recommend taking your services to AMC. read more

This theater used to be nice and I came here a lot but not as often anymore. The last time I came here was on a weekday when the kids are still in school, a lot more quieter and nicer. However, I would not come here on the weekend as I mainly go to the AMC in Boston when I want to catch a movie. The prices are way too high (that's why I only go if I really want to see a particular movie) and with these high school kids roaming around, it would not be a fun experience at all. Last time I went there were a bunch of them standing around in the back talking and laughing during both the previews and the actual movie. Extremely rude and irritating. This is not a house and we're not in the hallways of some school. Someone had to call security just to babysit them and get them to shut up..really sad. This used to be one of my favorite movie theaters and had a lot of great times there. Its too bad that these kids ruined it. read more

I was hesitant on seeing a movie here because of the mixed reviews but I have to say, it was not bad at all. It is very convenient to Route 24, right off Exit 20A and is a stand alone theater so it is not attached to a shopping center which makes it a bit nicer than my regular Legacy Place theater which is mobbed most of the time and has no parking a lot of the time. This place also is quite large and looks remodeled and upgraded. It is a Lux version so it has the upper level. I visited here because it is one of the few IMAX theaters in the area. Seeing a move on opening night was not bad either since the place is so big, the crowd is dispersed in many theaters (16 total) and they are all stadium seating. What I like about the IMAX here, you can buy tickets online and also reserve an actual seat which saves time and also you are not rushing to get to the theater to stand in line to get a good seat (Jordan's). The prices however are a little steeper for IMAX ($16 bucks per person). In all it was worth it and the sound and IMAX were impressive. Nothing compared to Jordan's but not sure what would compare to that screen and seats. Concessions were smooth and staff was friendly and helpful and popcorn also tasted quite good here. I would recommend this theater to anyone looking to grab a movie in an easy going environment. read more

Two words: Annoying teenagers. This theater has it's ups and downs. I think I am going to start attending the matinees to avoid that crowds. Too many a times, I have had to yell at people to shut their yaps or to stop kicking my chair. I've never had to do that anywhere else. The staff are just there. Doing their jobs, not really standing out. So I can't complain about that. They give me my blue icee and medium popcorn each time and have never gotten it wrong. I guess it's clean. there is plenty of parking. There are three floors including a Luxe level (which is a joke). So why do I keep coming here? It's convenient. read more

The old women collecting tickets decided to answer her cell phone right in front of me and then ignore us. Someone else came over to take our tickets. And did not even look at them so no 3D glasses which we had to get put self. Adult ticket child ticket $30. Two drinks small popcorn $20 dollars. This movie theater offers a lot of choices and the seating set-up is great. but overall the prices are too expensive...for everything, including tickets to refreshments. I found employees to be unfriendly and not really paying attention. I also found that even though they said they did not tolerate loud noise and such during the movie, there was still MANY people chit-chatting throughout the ENTIRE movie I just went to see this evening. I thought maybe someone would walk through and tell them to settle down but nothing ever happened. It really ruined my experience at the theater. Very nice theater. Not quite on par with Showcase Cinemas in Dedham, but close. Big screens. Good audio. Multiple concession stands, albeit a little slow. It's a strange cinema as many of their screens are underground...so you go through a series of escalators going deeper and deeper down, like you're entering a war bunker or something. Parking can be a nightmare in the evening, especially on weekends. Sometimes you get stuck with the overflow lot on the otherside of Route 139, which can REALLY suck. So I tend to just stick to matinees at this theater, when parking isn't a problem. read more

Came here because we had free tickets and will not be coming back. The staff is very nice but the seats are not nearly as nice as braintree's AMC. The inside arm does not lift up for cuddle seats. Also it's really easy to walk into an already playing movie if you're early as the outside of the cinema door does not list the movie currently playing. Drive the extra minutes to Braintree. There is Bargain Tuesdays in which tickets are $7.50! You can sign up for the rewards program and earn tickets and free concession food! I'm pretty convinced this is the busiest theater I've ever been to. However, I always enjoy they have the midnight showings here. It's basically an airport-sized 3 floor theater, traffic is usually horrendous of Friday/Saturday (the parking lot fills up, shows sell out quick, etc) plus tickets are now $10.25 (yikes!), plus, as someone mentioned before, some random old hag will card you for some movies in the lower level. The hag didn't card my two younger friends, but carded my friend and I when we were seeing Pan's Labyrinth, as I had a soda, popcorn and too much in my hands already I had to dig through my purse and grab my damn ID. Really, it's not like I was seeing American Pie's Orgyfest 2007. It was PAN'S LABYRINTH. Not to mention I am 20...ugh. At any rate, I always end up making the quest to go here since everything in the Taunton/Raynham/Bridgewater area in terms of theaters are major suckage. read more

I am a fan of this movie theater. It is huge, and a lot of movies are always paying. It does pay to come before 6 pm, because at that time you get the "bargain price." This means that tickets are less expensive than what they normally are. The staff is very friendly here, they give you what you need and you move on. The theater is clean, but in my opinion the bathrooms could be kept a little nicer. The parking is great, the only thing I could complain about is that there is not enough lighting. $12 may seem a little pricey for a movie, but for a night out it's not terrible. read more

A nice little theater, where you can go and see a cheap movie, especially on Tuesdays! There are multiple eateries, and all the food is good, greasy movie food. This location is ok, Dedham & Foxboro are a little better for both the regular & Showcase Lux level. but because it is in my home town, it will do. majority of the theaters are below, but I usually go to the Lux Level as that is the only way my husband will go see a movie or he will wait until it comes out on dvd-Red Box. They have concessions on every level, which a lot of people forget so you don't have to wait in line on the main level. It can be a little cleaner but at least it is stadium seating. We saw "Avengers" in 3D. The movie was good and the seats were VERY comfortable. The picture quality and audio were also impressive. I found the service at the concession area to be slow and several of the employees lacked basic customer service skills -like smiling! There was some confusion and distraction around the start of the movie because many people seemed to be unaware of the assigned seat policy. Perhaps, when the ticket taker is ripping the tickets, he/she could remind patrons to check the location of their seats...? read more
