Steven was our DJ for our 5/5/23 wedding at The Hacienda. He is on the venues approved DJ list. My husband and I spoke to several other DJs. But our vibes were not matching with anybody until we met Steven. We set up a Zoom meeting so that he can get to know what we are looking for. We loved that he has a program that allows us to add songs that we would like played. We were even able to make a list of "Do not play" songs, which came in handy when my aunt tried to request a song on that list in which Steven was professional and respectfully let them know that per the bride and groom he will not play it. He was also an awesome emcee. A couple of days before our wedding we scheduled a phone call to go over details of announcements and timelines. I have been to too many weddings where the DJ made or broke the entire evening, so needless to say I was anxious choosing one for my own wedding. Luckily, a friend in the wedding business recommended him because she remembered he had done a great job at weddings she had worked. I am so grateful for that recommendation! Steven was available and was the only DJ I had to interview. I immediately felt it was the right fit and loved all that he had to offer - you could tell he knew his stuff. He was so helpful during the last planning session, recommending ideas and insight as to what he typically sees at other weddings. So thankful for some of his tips! He seamlessly worked with our photo/video team, as well as our venue. The best part of all was we had a rogue family member grab the mic to give a speech and after about 10 minutes of awkwardness, a friend of mine told him to gracefully transition to the next thing, which he did with ease. Not a fun situation to navigate but he handled it the best way possible! Steven was the perfect emcee, played all our requests, took requests, and kept the dance floor alive ALL night. Steve was very familiar with The Hacienda, our wedding venue, which made it easy for him to communicate with our wedding coordinator. One less thing to worry about during wedding planning! 4. The process for selecting the music for our reception was the best. Steve sets you up with a web account for a service he uses to get your preferred music list and gives you a limit of songs, so you're aware how much music you'll need. It pains me that we took so long to write this review for showcase DJ. We had our wedding in January. We were very stressed out about how to chose a DJ. Do we ask for a sample? Do we crash some weddings? Luckily I have an amazing wife that was clever enough to find showcase DJ. Steven was the main reason our wedding was as fun as it was. I've been to a lot of weddings where the dance floor gets hot, then cold, then warm. I'm not bias when I say that the dance floor at our wedding was crowded all night! Steven got our vibe perfectly from his easy to use software that allowed us to add all the songs we wanted played. He even had an option for songs NOT to play.... hell no YMCA or chicken dance! My wife and I are SO glad we hired Steven as the DJ for our wedding this past July. He was communicative, professional, reliable, friendly, and most importantly - really, really good at his job. Like, really good. On the day of, he really came through - the DJ was never something we had to think or worry about on our wedding day. My husband and I hired Steve for our reception on April 2nd. All we can say is WOW! He did such a great job accommodating our tastes and any time we had questions or comments he was there. Our initial meeting took place at our venue where he gave us the run down of his services and setup. We asked for uplighting that he was more than happy to provide. This really made all our decorations pop. Using his online tools to set up play lists and a timeline of events was simple and intuitive. Anything that we couldn't find on the list he was more than happy to find for us. The second meeting before the event we were unable to attend in person but Steve made sure to set up a time to have us chat with him to iron out any details that still remained. He really helped with suggestions on things we missed, like a cake cutting song. The day of the event was so great! He showed up an hour and a half early to set up and we didn't have to worry about a thing. From then on it was a blur. He nailed the cocktail and dinner music and when it was time to start dancing he really had a feel for the dance floor and kept everyone moving. After it was over we wished we could keep going! I never actually met him in person prior to the wedding day, but out of all the DJ's I talked to, he was the most professional so I had to trust my gut feeling and go with him. The venue staff also highly recommended him. He communicated well via email, helped with the planning process and called me a few days before the wedding, so that he can learn how to pronounce my bridal party's names correctly. Most of us have long and complicated Filipino/Hispanic names. I maximized the song request list and I didn't know it was for about 7 hours of reception, and we only had about 2-3 hours max, yet he still played all the songs I really wanted and he had most of my guests dancing the whole time. We had DJ Steve for our wedding on 1/2/15. This DJ company was on the referral list from our venue: The Hacienda in Santa Ana. He was awesome!!! The first thing I loved about Showcase DJ was that their prices were listed on their website. VERY reasonable prices. He was the first one to email me back and was always very prompt. He drove out to our local Starbucks to meet with us 5 months before our wedding to discuss our preferences and everything. We submitted all our song choices and schedule onto a form that is on their website. We could go back to the forms and edit if we thought of any more songs we wanted to play. We got uplighting, dance lights, and a photo booth all from Showcase DJ. Because we ordered 3 or more services, we got a discount. The uplighting looked GORGEOUS in our venue!!! Can't recommend Showcase DJ and Steve enough! Steve went above and beyond to help shape our wedding in the perfect night! I think having the right DJ and music is important, because it can set the tone for the whole night. He was so easy going and friendly I knew just from a short phone conversation I didn't want to look any further. (I'd had a pretty odd meeting with another DJ and one that was completely unresponsive.) I could tell he was very laid back, which was just what we wanted. The others all pushed things that we completely did not want to do, and one straight up told me they wouldn't play our music because other people wouldn't enjoy it..(we weren't playing anything crazy..) We didn't want to do a lot of the traditional wedding stuff, just wanted good music and for everyone to have a good time. We are kind of picky with our music, we don't like a lot of top 10 stuff.. but Steve went and found all of our requested songs. His online tools made it super super easy to pick out all the songs you wanted and enter in all the info he'd need for the night. We also booked our photo booth through him and everyone had a great time using it. There was a separate person overseeing that to make sure it ran well. He was hilarious too. Lots of props and it was great how you received prints for every person in the photo, and there was an option to upload it to social media immediately. Steve definitely help keep things running smoothly all night and we really appreciate it. Overall, I believe his rate was slightly higher than what others quoted but it was 1000% worth paying a little bit more to have someone we were completely comfortable with than some of the other I spoke with.
