I was offered very limited selections of options to choose from for flooring and carpeting to upgrade my house for a rental. I think they must have assumed that I wanted mediocre quality since it's set to be a rental. For carpet, I was given 2 options for colors to choose from. I was initially offered the 30oz carpet but I feared it would not be plush so I wanted to upgrade, so 40oz was the next up. For flooring, I had 3 options for colors to choose from. I choose what was best based on what was presented to me. They took 2 days to install over a period of a week. I guess it's normal for after installation of the flooring that they don't install the toilets back for you? Anywho, after installation, I noticed the carpet felt CHEAP, I wondered if the upgrade was done? I can't imagine what the 30oz version would feel like. The flooring also cheap looking and felt slippery, maybe because it was new. I hope that wears off otherwise it's going to be an issue. Not happy with the results I complained about it to Mike, the properties manager. He was pleasant and we worked out the solution for it. What I learned from the experience was I can't trust the experts/professionals to do the right thing and pick out what I need over emails. They made it easy for me choose by giving me limited options but I should have asked about the quality. I needed to come to the showroom and feel the products out first to know what to expect for such an expensive project.

He said it was a 3 day job. 9 days later all that had been done was holes dug, a sprinkler line hit, and the holes filled with concrete. His idea to fix the sprinkler line was to use saran wrap and glue. Luckily, I called my usual sprinkler guy to fix it before the concrete was poured. This guy (never met any brother) is full of nothing but promises and excuses.

We had ACS come to our home to give a quote for new garage doors. I explained that I wanted the…read morebrick mould around the garage doors replaced because they were dented. I showed him all of the dented areas and he assured me (3 different times throughout our visit) that the brick mould would be replaced. He told me that the mould would be the same color as the rubber seal that would be put in around the doors. He also told me that the brick mould would be included in the quote. I called ACS to voice my concerns and I was told that there was nothing that could be done and that their salesmen had so many years of experience that none of them would have told me that (the salesman that came to my house seemed very young). A short time after I called, a lady called me to see how I liked my new doors and when I explained my concerns to her, she said she wanted to talk to someone else in the office and get back to me. This call happened in May and I have yet to receive a call back from them. I love the look of the doors, but my dented brick mould was not replaced as I was told it would be, so now I have had to hire another company to replace the brick mould when I was originally told it was going to be included in my quote. I feel deceived by the salesman that first came to my house and ignored when no-one bothered to call me back.

The installation went smooth, 2 young men who were professional in working with us. They took all the small scraps we didn't want for disposal. We requested a couple small changes from how they were going to do a match to our dining room tile. When we told them how we wanted the transition, they were happy to install it "our way". This was a living room, 2 sets of stairs, and a hallway. Very happy with our experience.

This was the worst experience of my life. I had a horrible time trying to get them to come out and complete the install, I begged and pleaded with texts not being returned. That led me to contact another contractor and thats how I found out about the issues. I was nice enough to still allow them to keep the money in full and asked for a refund of my remaining money. They made up some 4% fee to take off my refund even after I paid for the horrible work. Do your research before hiring anyone! They also adjusted my front door and did not reinstall the trim correctly. It looks horrible!

We are now looking at replacing kitchen countertops and stopped in to discuss. Kathy was a delight to work with and had great suggestions for us. Our home was built in 1991 and the windows were completely rotten less than ten years later (Jeld-Wen - think they went bankrupt but may be out ther again). I searched every available window company and couldn't believe the offering that K&W offered. We chose WeatherShield mainly since it was so rare to be able to pick the wood type of the windows - no pine, the wood is just too soft. We replaced all of our windows with K&W and we love having windows the are a complete match to all or our trim. A few years later we added an addition. This time we didn't have to do research, we knew exactly where to go and the windows to use. I'm going to tell you that they are busy but when you are with Tim Lund or Doug Metz from K&W, you are all they are thinking about. My advice to anyone is don't make a decision until you have seen what K&W can offer. I think you will be much more impressed that the "one-company" window offerings. Go see all that they offer, then make the decision this is right for you. They will show you everything and even show you the competitor's products. We also purchased solid core panel doors and new hardware but the experience was the same. I hope this helps you.
