My daughter has been at Showtime for 2 years now and it has been life changing. My daughter was never been a shy child, I new very young that she would be a performer and Showtime has given her the most amazing platform to do that. My daughter started out in the Thursday program, where they do 12 weeks of rehearsal and then one show at the end. She did that for an entire year and it was amazing to watch her grow. This past year she did the older, more advanced class called Main Stage where she performs for the public every Saturday for 6 weeks. My daughter pretty much lives for these shows. She loves it so much! As a parent, it blows my mind to see what Showtime can do with these kids in such a short period of time. The professionalism and the quality of the shows is amazing. We love all the teachers and the owner Marilyn. Everyone is so supportive and it feels like one big family. This past weekend I saw their Main Stage Performance of In The Heights. This performance was mainly adults, so my daughter did not try out for this show. But omg let me tell you, it was SO good! I am a theater junkie. I see every show that comes to the Broward Center. In fact, I just saw Jersey Boys this past week and there was more talent on the Showtime Stage on Saturday then there was in Jersey Boys! It is truly amazing what Showtime can do with a small stage and pure talent. I felt like we were off Broadway, not sitting in Boca Raton! Showtime is the BEST!! My 11 year old daughter started with the Musical Theatre Experience class 2 years ago and has had the BEST time since! From Voice Lessons to Dance Classes and Acro, to Main Stage Productions. So many classes to choose from. The staff is so caring and professional! She has learned so much and has made so many friends there, we could not be happier. The Main Stage Productions are absolutely incredible!! So much talent there (kids and adults) its amazing to see everyone and everything come together. Would not go anywhere else and highly recommend it! Showtime is an off broadway theater in downtown Boca that has great productions in a very nice theater. They feature both children and adult musicals and also have some of the top teachers in Boca for acting, dancing, and vocals. My daughter takes vocal lessons there with Rebeca who is one of the top vocal teachers in the state in my opinion. read more

I recently called to get some information about the summer camp programs for my young children and to my surprise the person that answered the phone was eating and chewing her food to the point that I could not understand what she was saying and to make matters worse It was the OWNER!!!! Marilyn. Why on earth would I ever send my precious children to spend time in a program for performing arts when the person in charge is not able to demonstrate professionalism , pose and grace with something as simple as phone etiquette. read more

One of the best children's theaters in the area. They put on 4-5 shows a year that are done by kids although they are not necessarily for kids. They did a presentation of Rent that was definitely not PG. Although the location might not be best for everyone (southeastern most corner of Boca Raton) it is worth the drive. They have an amazing dance teacher and voice coach and they all contribute to the blocking of the scenes for the performances. The performances are at 2 pm every Saturday during the school year and they have summer camp, winter camp and spring break camp so the kids can be there throughout the year. My daughter has been there every week during the school year and I can tell you that the amount of progress she has made in every facet of performing arts is remarkable. read more

HORRIBLE. I put my son in a class there and it was the worst decision I've ever made. Marilyn the owner was incredibly rude, snide and inconsiderate to everyone in the building, she's way to over priced for the crap teaching that she's offering, the security in the building is terrible, the children can walk out at any time and no one would know and as a parent myself that would make me Severely uncomfortable. The place also was very dirty inside, the trash was over flowing, the bathrooms were unsanitary and looked they haven't been cleaned in months and to top it off my son said he saw a roach in the bathroom upstairs. Needless to say, if you're looking for an extra curricular activity for your child, This place should not be an option at all. read more

Went to my first show there....children were delightful but the owner was rude to me and talked very sarcastic. I was shocked. The parent of one of the children made us move because he had a large group coming and his daughter was "the Star". Very clicky read more

We tried them out twice but dropped out because the owner is really rude and mean to parents. The same kids always get the starring roles. Coincidentally (I think not) these same kids pay to attend numerous lessons there. Talented children whose parents do not fork out big bucks constantly get the smallest parts. Then they sit around with nothing to do while the stars are coached. Other parents complained about this to me but didn't talk to the owner because they actually fear confrontations with her. read more

This was my daughter's first experience with a summer camp theater program and I was very disappointed. When we signed up months before they did not tell us we needed black dance shoes until we arrived on day one, so I felt pressured getting them through them. The shoes cost $42. Then on top of that an email was sent out the day before the show letting the parents know what the kids needed to wear the day of the show. So needless to say I'm running out at the last minute getting these items. It would have been nice if they told us when we signed up so we were prepared. My daughter attended the Descendants 2 week camp. She told me there was no air conditioning the first day and she was dripping in sweat. She also said the instructors would scream at the kids. The performance itself was okay, but the kids looked like they were having fun which is what matters. They had over 50 kids and the theater is really super small. My opinion way to many kids. Not everyone fit on the stage and they were kind of on top of one another. The instrumental music was super loud that I couldn't hear anyone's solos. Even those using headset microphones which was very few was hard to hear over the music. I'm going to explore another theater camp next summer. read more

First impressions, horrible. Small space. Disorganized, unkempt, strange. Witnessed someone from casting appear to loudly bark over the balcony at young children who were quietly sitting on stage waiting to audition just to tell them to get off the stage. Shocking really. If this is how rehearsals would go, we'll pass - these programs should not make a child fearful, humiliated or insecure especially at an age when they can't properly process what is happening!
