Hannah met me as soon as I walked in, and then helped me guide my car up the ramp to the warehouse and then helped me unload 13 banker boxes full of ancient tax returns, bank statements, etc accumulated by my parents, 265 pounds, $103, best money I've ever spent. I watched Hannah and her partner diligently empty every box into the shredder, I was mesmerized watching all that paper disappear. I learned something interesting, Hannah said that their shredder, while it does its job well, produces strips (seen the movie Argo?) and so for added security they send their shred to another company that re-shreds everything. Who knew shredding could be such a lovely experience?! Sweetest people. Efficient and fast. As mentioned, you watch them shred your stuff on the monitor so you know it really was shredded instead of just recycled. $20 flat rate for my 38 pounds of paper. In and out in 5 minutes. I had a bunch of personal mail and documents that needed to be shredded. I used to shred items at work, but, recently left my job and didn't want to use our small personal shredder at home. In the past, I've also gone to Office Depot or Staples to shred batches of personal items while I waited, so, I returned to both of these stores and apparently they only have the lock boxes and no longer offer the shredding while you wait (by the pound). I searched online for a solution and that's when I found Shred Time! Shred Time is privately owned by a very hard-working, pleasant man with a great disposition! Shred Time is centrally located (near LAX) and actually open 7 days a week! I went there on a Sunday and the owner helped me and shredded my items right on the spot in front of me in a huge shredder! I should have done my research prior to driving there, but, I didn't, so, I was unaware that there was a minimum. The owner was kind enough to give me a discount on my shredding since it was my first visit and was appreciative of my business. If you need shredding done, this should be your go to place! read more

Normally I do not write negative reviews because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, however, after numerous awful encounters including having emails and phone calls ignored, I have to say something. When I first signed up for their services I spoke with Oliver, who was wonderful and made the process easy. Since then, I have dealt with Anna(?) or Hannah(?) and have recieved some of the worse customer service I have ever recieved. On 10/6, I scheduled a bin pick-up for 10/8 which was approved by Oliver. I emailed and called to get an update on the delivery since it was almost closing time and my bin had not arrived. When I was finally able to contact someone, they told me the driver was unable to get to me and I would have to reschedule for next week. I would like to point out that this was during the pandemic and I was only in my office once or twice a week. Since I had no other option, I agreed to the rescheduling and let it go. Things happen. The next time I requested a bin, once again, the Shred Time people were late and had not arrived during the agreed upon time-window. I had to call & email again to recieve a response, and was told they needed to reschedule, but this time I demanded it be the next day - which they agreed to. However, their delivery man arrived late again (an hour before closing) and showed up with no bin. He said the appointment before me forgot to order a replacement bin and mine was given to her, but he would just empty out my bin and shred it immediately in his truck. I was extremely unhappy, but told the deliver guy "fine". Then the deliver guy tells me he does not have a his master key to open up my bin. By this point I am furious. He calls his company to try to find a solution. This call was on speaker. I hear a lot of blaming going around and hear Anna (or Hannah) yell at him and then tell him "why doesnt she have a key?, where is her key etc." At this point, I jump in on the call because it was on speaker and told her this is her company's job to ensure they have all the tools to handle their deliveries and walk away from the deliver man. Luckily, I was able to find the key in an unlock drawer in my partner's office, otherwise, they would have had to reschedule again. I wish I could say it gets better, but it doesn't. Today at 9:50am, I sent an email requesting a delivery /pick for tomorrow or friday and to let me know if these days/times works for them. I did not hear back from them so I followed up with a call around 1pm to schedule a delivery/pick. Who answers the phone? Anna (or Hannah... I can never hear what she is saying). She lets me know that Thursday and Friday are booked and I quote, "she cannot help me". I inquire as to why the email went unanswered and why I was not informed of this so I could try to find an alternative day. She said "we are busy and then said I should not say "i NEED", "I NEED to schedule a time for pick up on XXX day and time" and should not "demand" deliveries. When I tried to schedule something for Monday, she said she did not "have the delivery schedule available. When I ask why the scheduler (her) did not have the delivery schedule so customers can set-up a time. She hung up on me. I called back. She ignored the call. I waited 15-20 minutes and called on a different number. The call was ignored. She called the different number back (my roommates) and continued to ignore mine. Also, their voicemail is not set-up so you couldn't leave a voicemail if you wanted. I sent a follow-up email requesting to speak to Oliver, the operations coordinator, and have not heard back. Needless to say, I will be cancelling my services. To everyone looking for shredding services, trust me, you can do better. Even if it the services are a little bit pricer somewhere else, you will get more reliable and trustworthy service. Do not go here. read more

I wanted my documents shredded privately, safely, quickly and while I am watching them do it, that's what I got at shred time, their prices are the cheapest I have found, I told one of my relatives and she was grateful also, and thanked me for the great find. Amazing place! Who thought shredding paper could be such a treat?! The MOST helpful employees of ANY company encountered in a loooong time. They were ther immediately, helping to unload boxes from the car, loading them on to the scale, guiding you to the waiting room, offering treats and water, and pointing you to the big TV screen. There, you watch via backstage camera, as the workers work in sync, doing some sort of shredding dance as they get the boxes, put the papers through the shredder, empty the overflowing bins. So I am moving and had a bunch of papers I needed to be shredded. I started with Office Depot who wanted a ridiculous amount of money and doesn't shred on site for more than 5 lbs. I checked with Staples and same thing. I googled shredding services and Shred Time came up. I called and they said I could watch my documents being shredded and it was only $0.39 per pound. They were so friendly. They even met me at my car to help carry my documents in. While I waited in lobby I was able to watch on camera the woman shredding my docs and was even offered a complimentary beverage and some candy. Never imagined I would be writing a review for a shredding service but it is well deserved. Great work guys! read more

Awesome experience. Parked right in front. The sweetest young lady helped me carry in my bags. We walked them to the scale. She gave me the price which was so inexpensive I couldn't believe it! I sat in their very clean waiting room, filled out a form and watched her shred via TV. Paid. Done. I don't think I was there more than 15 minutes. Taking the equivalent of a large garbage bag of old bank statements and checks to Shred Time as a walk in customer was therapeutic to me, I can't tell you how good I felt afterwards. I can't say the drive from the SFV to their location practically next to the runways of LAX was therapeutic and once I got there I wasn't sure they were open because it was on a Sunday and that whole area is commercial so it was deserted but sure enough there was a light on inside and the door was open so in I went. I was immediately greated by a voice coming from an unlit office to the right and about the same time a guy came from the back to take my shredding from me at which point I made a quip that it wasn't much at which point he said we have people come in with all size jobs, some smaller than mine and others with large loads so he yanked the judgement right out from under my feet...lol. After he grabbed my shredding from me I went into the office with the other employee who initially greeted me to fill out one short form, pay the minimum $20 for the little weight of shredding I had brought in, and then she escorted me to the back where I watched my bag of papers get fed into a machine the size of a small van and it was over in a few minutes. And to think if I had shredded that at home it would have taken a couple of weekends to do myself. read more

This was my first time shredding old paperwork and Shred Time made it easy. I had never been to their old address, but this one was easy to find and the service couldn't have been better. They unloaded my car and provided a room just inside with a couch, cold drinks and a TV monitor to watch my items being shredded. Highly recommended so I brought almost 600 pounds of old documents after I burned out an expensive personal shredder. Watch your old papers disappear on the screen. So glad I finally did it. It's back breaking work to sit there and shred one page at a time at home! My only beef is that it's not crosscut but they send the shredding out for more shredding. I had an outstanding experience with this company. Because my husband has worked in Computer Security over the years I was skeptical of having our tax records and other valuable paperwork picked up and destroyed away from us. I was assured that our paperwork would be picked up brought right to the facility (I had too much for one trip to their location) I asked more questions that I probably should have but always got a very prompt and patient response. I scheduled for a few days away but found that everything was ready to go yesterday so I notified them and within a very short time my stuff was picked up. This morning I got a certificate assuring me that everything had been shredded. Highly recommend. Some other companies responded most did not but none offered the outstanding service we received. This place is amazing and their customer service is superb. You are given a genuine greeting when you enter the facility. They take your items, count your bags and head to the ba k. You can see all the action while you wait, on a flat screen tv. The tv shows them unloading your shreddables and loading them in the shredder. They even offer soda or water while you wait. Easy! Drove around the side, backed up onto the loading dock and unloaded the paperwork onto a scale. After weighing it, they destroyed in in a large shredding machine while I watched on a TV monitor in their lobby (while enjoying a complementary cold drink). The woman who helped me was friendly, fast and efficient. Over 200 pounds of paper destroyed for under $80 in about 15 minutes. Now we're rid of all of that paper and have extra space.
