Hi Sharon, staples, paper clips, acco clips, manila folders and hanging file folders are all okay to shred. 3 ring binders, plastic binder dividers and plastic clear inserts are not okay to shred. thank you for asking!

Do you come to private homes and can I watch the shredding and do you charge by the pound how does it work exactly. I've never used a service but doing spring cleaning and overwhelmed with how much paper I don't need now that I scan everything?

The guy worked so hard and was so fast even in 100 degree heat at 1030am. The storage room was an inside unit so it wasn't like an outside unit he could just drive up to and start loading into the shredder. There were 63 bankers boxes carried out and loaded into the shredder in less than an hour in a 100 degree heat. He shredded the boxes on site and when it was done he gave me the total number of boxes shredded and the total($464). Very reasonable. Then Amy called me to confirm my email address and sent me the certificate and receipt. This was not only the lowest quote, but the fastest shredding quoted, on site in my presence. I would not hesitate to hire Total Shredding again and highly recommend them. BTW, as all the other shredding companies who gave me a quote, they do not shred the boxes.

I recently cleaned out our personal paperwork in my house and put it into random Costco boxes and bags. I bought a shredder, terrible experience. It seemed to consistently get jammed and would stop randomly. I work at a dealer ship and they have a shredding service from another company, but when i called they would not accept drop off and referred me to this one. I called two others shred businesses, one was unsure of how the paper was shredded the other one was going by weight(i do not have a scale to weigh all my papers). Gabriel was very cool and friendly explained the process simply and easy. I wanted to come in on Saturday, he said no problem and just call before. He had let me know that hours vary on Saturday as they do maintenance on the equipment. I think there Yelp! page should reflect "OPEN" on Saturday, im not sure why it does not. When i got there they took care of everything from unloading the boxes all the way to shredding. They even allow you to take your empty boxes back or shred them. I watched on a monitor as it got shredded, paid in the office and received receipt and was on my way. I even learned what type of shred method was used, pierce and tear. My advice though: call before showing up on Saturday, better safe than sorry. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Gabriel is the most dishonest person I have ever spoken to, and why would I have my documents shredded by his company for that price, we have government documents. His truck was in disrepair, he looked like some guy off the street, his office is run by a mean rude old lady, he came to my office he did not look like everything was right so my boss had asked him if he was okay. HE WAS SLURRING HIS WORDS! He finished the job TO NEVER RETURN AGAIN SORRY BUT THIS HAS TO BE PUT OUT THERE. HORRIBLE COMPANY! The staff at Shred Source are very professional, reliable and have very easy pricing structure so as to be no confusion. From start to finish they were accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We purge our documents every year and this has been my best experience. They explain the whole process to you, provide very reasonable rate depending on amount of boxes and will work with you on selecting a date and time-frame (am/pm). They shred all documents on our premises in there commercial mobile shredding truck where we are able to witness it and even provide a certificate of destruction as part of the service. I started with the company when the kid took over for his dad. He dad was great! But Gabriel is the most rudest, unprofessional idiot I have ever dealt with!! No communication, no follow through and it is impossible for him to stick to a schedule!!! His poor staff is unable to coordinate anything due to his nonsense! After many years of hassles with him I am done!! Took me a bit to fire him due to the fact that a schedule for shredding isn't high on my priority list when running a business. We had Shred Source come out to our office for a client shredding event. We had first used them last year, when another company cancelled on us last minute. I called them again this year because they had a great price and the people were extremely helpful. Their entire staff is amazing, from Monique in the office, to Oliver the driver. I only found Shred Source because the other company I used for walk in shredding no longer offered the service. Gabriel, who runs the business, gave me a tour of the facility and allowed me to see my boxes get eaten by the monster shredder. The operation is claen and efficient, and I saved about 15% compared to the old shredder. I was in and out in no time.
