This is a hidden gem in the valley. No appointment necessary. Had 4 computers with hard drives intact. Needed to have the hard drives shred for security. Technician quickly removed drives and after paying nominal fee, walked me over the the machine to watch the drives get demolished. They took the machines for recycling or waste. I had a really good experience with everyone here. They were very helpful, friendly, fast and reasonably priced. I initially dropped off a couple laptops and android phones, but kept all of my apple devices thinking I could go to the Apple store nearby and have them traded in for store credit or at least recycled. When we got the Apple store the attendantd were really slow and we kept getting passed around from "specialist" that kept disappearing. After 20 minutes of being ignored, we came back to eWaste and they took care of is right away. They help with disassembling your devices (computer, laptop, hard drive, phones. I use this place to drop off my defunct electronics, hopefully to get repurposed instead of ending up in a landfill. It's a little hard to navigate to the correct one-way driveway, to know where to go in the back, not a lot of room to turn around to get out. But the people here are helpful. Oh, eWaste U.S. Electronics Recycling, it was love at first sight. I'll never forget the day I first saw you on the morning news. I looked up to see a video of a hard drive being completely destroyed in a machine that looked it was a prop from The Terminator. I instantly knew that one day we would meet. My heart skipped a beat. I had immediately thought about an ancient external hard drive taking up space in my file cabinet. It's been lingering there for over10 years, refusing to take the hint and leave. You may have something similar too....an old laptop that may or may not have your Social Security number stored on it, an old tablet with some pictures that you'd rather not have see the light of day, you get the point. You're not sure what exactly is on the darn thing but it's too hard to find out. You want to get rid of it and don't know how. I had seen one too many episodes of Forensic Files to trust soaking my hard drive in bleach or donating it to charity. Shredding the darn thing in a massive contraption and getting a certificate of its destruction seemed like just the ticket, a completely satisfying way to assure complete privacy and peace of mind. I gave eWaste a call, popped on over, videotaped my hard drive being completely obliterated, and got my certificate of destruction all for $10. It took like 5 minutes, possibly the most satisfying 5 minutes of my life. (Please, no comments. This is true love. Great and quick service. Got a hard drive shredded at a god value and dropped off some electronics for recycling.

They're an e-waste company. Go here to get your computers and such recycled. Surprisingly, they're one of the few e-waste places that are open on more days than one. Kind of weird to think about, but I'm glad there's a place I can go to without having to take time out on a Saturday for recycling. The location just past Lobster Sports. If a car is blocking the sign, the location is easy to miss. Use the narrow driveway. Parking seems to be a free for all, so just park near the big eWaste sign (they're in the back). Overall, after finding the location, it took maybe 20 minutes to take a couple heavy boxes of graphics cards and lead-acid batteries to get recycled. Batteries are allowed as long as they aren't swollen or bulging. One of the workers (I believe the owner) came by with a forklift to help move the boxes. He even ran to grab an extra tub for some of the loose electronics we had that couldn't fit in the boxes. Overall a great experience. Easy in, easy out, and they're open on the weekdays. read more

Excellent experience! COMMUNICATION: Great. I called to confirm if they'd accept my item. Someone picked up immediately and provided a friendly and helpful response. They also have a straightforward website which outlines some of the items they accept (and do not accept) along with costs for fee-based services such as data destruction. LOCATION: Industrial building, all the way in the back of the parking lot. There was a sign on the street to help orient. Had no issue finding a parking spot. SERVICE: I dropped off a MacBook battery for recycling. The man was super friendly and pleasant to interact with. *LITHIUM BATTERY RECYCLING: They asked me if the battery was swollen (an outgassing reaction common with used lithium batteries, which can combust or leak). My battery was still functional and in fine shape so it wasn't an issue. However, I don't know if they'd take the swollen batteries or not. Call and ask. Either way, please expend the effort to recycle your lithium battery (whether it's swollen or not) as it can pose environmental risks if you toss it in the trash. read more

Fortunately for residents of the east San Fernando Valley: eWaste US Electronics Recycling is here to save your day. At least, they certainly saved mine. I can check a laptop, tablet, stereo, and cellphones off the above list and I was sick and tired of having them just sit around. It was time to get rid of this 'trash' but in an environmentally- safe way. I found eWaste US Electronics Recycling by none other than trusty ole' Yelp and after glancing at their website, I gave them a call to ask a couple questions. The gentleman who answered the phone was clear, concise and very friendly confirming that appointments aren't necessary and eWaste US Electronics Recycling takes walk-ins. They happily answer ahead of time what they will take and won't and they seem to be quite lenient. Once you pack your car with your discarded electronics; you will find eWaste US Electronics on Fulton near the Sherman Way intersection seated among factories, warehouses and storage facilities. Not the prettiest neighborhood but recycling electronics is dirty business! Some other reviews noted a difficulty in finding the facilities but I literally have NO idea what they are talking about because A) Google Maps took me to the exact driveway I needed to turn down and B) there is sidewalk signage noting the electronic recycling center and directing customers to the very back of the building. Once you turn into the driveway, go past the storage garage doors on your left and go alllll the way to the back - you can't miss the large pallets filled with electronics that you can view from your car. Drop-off was easy-peasy and I was in-and-out in minutes. A male associate took my laptop, charging cord, Kindle Fire tablet and my old stereo from high school over 20 years ago. I decided not to drop off my cellphones because I was unable to turn them on to do a factory reset. If you are in the same boat: eWaste US Electronics Recycling offers hard drive data shredding that they perform in front of you but this costs money (rather than dropping off electronics which is free) so I guess I'll just keep my old cell phones forever. But rest assured that all evidence of your nude pics will be destroyed! My only complaint was that neither of the two men on duty offered to help my petite little lady-self carry the electronics. Perhaps they would have, had I asked; but they saw me at my car and should have offered on their own not only as proper business practice but as pure manners. Recycling your electronic devices at eWaste US Electronics Recycling is absolutely painless (unless your carrying heavy televisions) and super fast and is recommended to not only clear away your clutter but to do so in a way that will please Mother Nature as these devices shouldn't be dumped into landfills. I recently had a rough experience with another company that didn't convey that they will pick up at curbside only. E-Waste US was very prompt and efficient from start to finish. Their representatives scheduled an appointment very early in the day so that they could fit me in on short notice, and were on time. I was able to have several computer monitors, desktops, and a scanner taken away. They took the items from my residence as opposed to requesting me to risk a fine/ ticket by putting things out on the street. I would recommend them for business or personal services because they clearly present their services and get the job done. Highly recommend. I called in advance and was advised that they could take my laptop (and destroy the hard drive) along with a television that no longer worked. I was also advised that they do not take hazardous waste such as batteries, light bulbs, or appliances. From the time I got there to the time I left took maybe ten minutes. The lovely man (whose name I did not get) took the laptop apart in front of me and let me watch the harddrive as it went through the shredder. It was really cool :) That service cost $10.
