The location is very humble in a residential neighborhood located off of state road 46 in Sanford. The ground is mostly grass and unpaved with a large field/parking area. Towards the corner of the area is the actual temple with a huge bodhi tree, offering area with incense, and gilded statue likenesses of the Buddha. I've only been here for social events held during Asian new year and different food festivals. The area has minimal shade, but mostly it's very warm so bring sunglasses and sunblock for daytime events. Bring a folding chair if you plan to sit or a beach towel. The events held here are always cash only, so if your find yourself heading here for food or new year festivities, bring cash. If you don't spend all your money on food or beer, you can usually pick up some nice Lao/Thai cooking instruments or food items to go. Also the temple is always happy to accept donations for the local Monks of cash or food offerings. Be warned, there are only two bathrooms located near the temple area and the lines are long during popular festivals. Enjoy coming here for special events and it's a nice reprieve from the hectic Central Florida lifestyle. Things seem to move slower here and it's a nice place for self reflection...and the occasional serving of papaya salad.

I attended a Tai Chi & Qigong class for beginners with Alan Zemel and really enjoyed it. I learned about the benefits of Tai Chi, how to breathe through my diaphragm and to move in an intentional, balanced and mindful way. I felt welcomed and appreciated by Penny (who also teaches there) and Alan from the moment I walked in. The furniture and dim lighting created a calming environment. The teachings of this Buddhist monk is the best I have observe anywhere. We were here as a second day of mourning in the passing of my beloved aunt. All the nuns, staffs and Buddhist monk made us all feel at home. We were in prayers and the monk's teachings is something that I have always live by. The prayer was an emotional, and spiritual lesson in philosophy, way of life, in healing and support all under one roof. After the ceremony we were all invited to a vegan lunch. It was an absolute spiritual experience for me and helped in our mourning. The site is huge that includes a beautiful indoor prayer area, a lotus pond and beautiful outdoor Buddha statue , a stage where community functions takes place, an eating area where vegan meals are offered and vegan ready cooked food or vegan frozen egg rolls that one can buy. It is a community of love, support and harmony all in one. It is the teaching of "goodness" as the monk pointed out in each and everyone of us.

I've been practicing with Heidi (owner) since she opened the original Bodhi Om Yoga Studio back in Autumn 2023. I've taken over 300 classes since then, which still surprises me because when I first showed up, I wasn't a yoga person at all. I went in expecting yoga to be silly, but I knew I needed to move more and find some mental calm. Yoga worked. Now, I can't imagine my week without it. The Bodhi Om studio has a cozy, boutique feel that makes it easy to relax and actually enjoy being there. You see the same faces often enough that you start to know people's names, and it becomes its own little community. Most classes are taught by Heidi, who sets the tone with warmth and humor, but every instructor she brings on is just as talented and thoughtful. After hundreds of sessions, I honestly can't remember a single bad class. What I love most is how approachable yoga is. Even as a regular, I still think of myself as a beginner, and new students can jump right in without feeling out of place. The classes range from gentle yin and deep-stretch sessions to more energetic flows that'll get your heart rate up - but they all end with grounding relaxation. Many classes include meditation or sound baths with bowls, and you can choose whether you'd like essential oils or adjustments during poses.
