    Whiting Sandwich ONLY

We placed our order to go, but then got there and decided to eat in. I had a fish sandwich and okra. My goodness gracious! Let me start with the seasoning. Whatever that is, bottle it up and sell it. I will order online monthly. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I didn't think I was going to eat my entire sandwich, but to my surprise, it was gone in 5 minutes. Then someone ordered a chicken platter ams had to get out of there before I ordered one. The young man that was bringing food out on 11/22/25 was mannerable and was focused on the job at hand. Give him a raise:-)

Absolute best fried chicken in the Rock Hill area! There's a very good reason why you'll hear locals use the restaurant's slogan of, "Ain't no chicken like Shrimp Boat chicken!" Their fried pork chops and coleslaw are awesome as well. Shrimp Boat has been a Rock Hilll food staple for great fried chicken and many other things for a long time. Eat there for yourself and you'll understand exactly why.

Because really though, there ain't no chicken like Shrimp Boat chicken! The space is small and a bit worn-down but clean and has enough room for plenty of dine-in customers while many more seem to get their food to go. You order at the counter up front and either the waitress brings it to your table or you wait to get it to take away. While the restaurant is called "Shrimp Boat" and has a nautical theme and they do have ample fried fish options, the real star of the show is their fried chicken, even down to the point they have the motto "there ain't no chicken like Shrimp Boat chicken" on the sleeves of the staff's uniform shirts. For real. And it's no lie, it's possibly the best fried chicken I've ever had and the hush puppies are certainly the best I've ever had, anywhere. However, the salt and pepper catfish was only ok, and their mac n cheese I found pretty poor. I don't know how Shrimp Boat came to be renowned for fried chicken, but that's the big draw here. Still, they offer two kinds of fried shrimp, several fish options, and more. This is the type of Southern soul food place where literally everything in the kitchen except the coleslaw and the cook himself goes into the fryer, so be ready for fried, fried, fried here. And enjoy it, as they say even if you order seafood, do get an additional side piece of at least a chicken leg or wing to just try that chicken because, there ain't no chicken like Shrimp Boat chicken!

Last night shrimp Boat saved my life! I had this craving for fried chicken and didn't want typical fast food. I decided to get 1/2 chicken dinner which came with a thigh, breast, leg, wing, fries, and coleslaw. Everything was delicious! Juicy crispy crunchy chicken perfectly cooked fries and that good sweet coleslaw! Everything was fresh and I enjoyed everything bite. Came up to 9.37 after tax I thought that was high but after eating it I don't even care how much it was. Parking lot was spacious and restaurant was spacious. It took about 15 minutes for my order and customer service was very polite. I'd definitely think it's safe to say ain't no chicken like the shrimp Boat chicken!

    My friends moldy bun.

My order, made through door dash, didn't arrive til about an hour and a half after it was made. It said it should take 30-40, understandable. An hour and a half, not so much. Whether that was shrimp boat or door dash, don't know, neither were responsive when I called. Everyone's food, not just mine, was cold. I had a seafood platter, missing some of the items. An absent side as well. But that didn't matter, because my friends pork sandwich bun, was COVERED IN MOLD!!!! No way anyone was eating after seeing that. She called with little offered but a new sandwich, and sent to doordash, if we wanted a refund. Understandable. It wasn't til a post on rock hill eats management got ahold of her, and asked to make it right. I don't trust the quality of cleanliness or staff, to not serve moldy food. I don't recommend.

Best pork chop ever. I would rate it a 5 on food. It is in a bad neighborhood and it is a run down building.

After swapping presents we went down to the restaurant for dinner. It was pretty packed and we were concerned we wouldn't get a table, but the staff allowed us to move chairs around to make room for the 11 of us. Everything about our experience was great. Toya and Brandon were our servers and both of them are excellent at their jobs. They were friendly, engaging, fast and efficient. Somehow with a packed dining room and only a few servers on the floor they were able to keep us all happy and well served throughout the meal. Toya even went the extra mile and had the kitchen send out my daughter's and young nieces' meals first so they wouldn't have to wait or become impatient. The kitchen worked smoothly with us to provide delicious meals for a few members of our family who have gluten and dairy intolerance. All of the food was well prepared and tasty. My sister tried a margarita and said Toya mixed it to perfection. I also wanted to note how clean the dining room (and all of the hotel) is. This is my second stay at the Cambria and it won't be my last. This kind of overall excellence in service and quality deserves repeat business. My sister lives fairly close to Rock Hill and said she'll be back as well to dine at the restaurant. Thanks again for a wonderful experience at the Cambria Hotel/Loom Restaurant! Can't wait to visit again.

We were a little confused as to how to enter the restaurant, but I chalk that up to being tired. The space is wide open and airy, with large windows and skylights. The restaurant was nice and clean, save for something that was splashed on the wall in our booth - but it's a restaurant. There's going to be little picky things here and there and I'm sure it was wiped down by the end of the day! Our hostess was also our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu. I took her suggestions at every turn and did not regret it. We started off with the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts app and let me tell you - I could've eaten that as my entire meal. They are SO delicious and I'll be dreaming of them until I can return to Rock Hill. Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! We didn't really have room for dessert, but when we heard about the warm banana pudding, we were curious. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT. If you're a banana pudding fan, this will blow your mind. Absolutely incredible! It's both warm and cool at the same time, caramelized bananas and a torched meringue topping were bowl-licking delicious. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We started things off with the Louisiana Shrimp Toast and the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts--both packed with so much flavor and the perfect way to kick off dinner. We also had to take advantage of their $2 frosé, which was absolutely perfect for these warmer days. For my entrée, I went with the Parmesan Ranch Chicken served with the most perfect mashed potatoes--comfort food at its finest. My husband ordered the Salt and Pepper Fried Tilapia with grits, topped with the most delicious tomato stew that had us both sneaking bites from each other's plates. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we already know we'll be back... because I still need a slice of that peach cheesecake! It was a little dark though it was more quiet than the sunlit front. I ordered the Old Town Cobb and my husband ordered the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf and a Caesar salad. The focaccia croutons in the salad were out of this world delicious and different. Their flavor of the croutons burst in our mouth. The meatloaf's presentation was superb. Hubby said he would order meatloaf again. I had a bite and it was crispy and smoky tasting. My husband ordered 2 beers and the bill was under $50 which we thought was a good value. Pros: water served in glass tumblers. Menu is very creative. Food is really delicious. Location. Plenty of other spots to grab a coffee, tea or hot chocolate while walking around Main Street after eating. Cons: tomatoes under ripe in Cobb salad. Caesar salad dressing was more sweet than anticipated. Depending when you come, parking will be challenging if a person is unable to walk. Parking is generally plentiful around downtown Rock Hill within a short walk. Verdict: Both dishes were good. Would come back and would order them again.

On the menu for today I chose the Blue plate Special ($23) OG, bacon wrapped meatloaf, swirl potatoes, veggie du jour, stewed, collards, steakhouse, vinaigrette, cilantro Crema. The dish was Tender medallions of meatloaf, wrapped in savory bacon. Topped with a steakhouse vinaigrette, tangy, and savory, which had an amazing flavor by itself, I just wish it added more to the main. Which was slightly bland. Unfortunately, this cilantro Crema had no hints of cilantro. The actual star of the show is the collard greens. The Collard greens has a subtle kick, which is amazing and flavorful, and gives that little extra punch. Hand slammed fries ($5) Parmesan - rosemary dusted, roasted tomato malt vinaigrette. Tasty especially with their house made ketchup, but unfortunately, the fries were a little on the soggy side. And a Blake's cider (5). crisp and refreshing. Perfect for a southern Carolina afternoon. Overall, food was delicious, but could use just a hint of attentions to flavor. I would definitely recommend you give Kounter a try.
