Love Jamars they have buffet and menu items. The salad bar is great and well stocked. The vegetables are seasoned to taste and they have a variety of meats. The waiters are very friendly even though the prices have gone up the food is worth it. I see some people were complaining and I almost didn't come in cause I'm from out of town on work. But I'm glad I did! Super friendly service from the second you walk through the door. Jomars may be top 5 on my dad's favorite restaurant list. He will drive us down to Lancaster ever so often so he can feast. Jomars is country cooking. A buffet full of soul food and southern eats. I remember when I was younger they served breakfast all day. They have stop doing that. Wish they would start it back up. I love breakfast all times of the day. During our last visit my dad brought all his brothers and sister (plus a few of my cousins) down to eat together. I had a hard time calling and making a reservation but was able to reach someone at the last minute and let them know about our party of 30. They treated us phenomenally. We had our own private area and an amazing server. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. This place stay busy so if you like country cooking and want to have all the options give Jomars a try. I've been moved away from the area for 1 1/2 years now and wow this place has gone downhill. Was here for breakfast buffet. The sausage gravy was disgusting. I barely ate anything. We chose this place to get a quick meal before walking the Lindsay Pettus trail (visiting for the day). We were seated quickly. Our waitress checked in with us quickly and was friendly and polite. We both got the buffet and were pleased with the selection of items. I got the salmon with macaroni and cheese, lima beans, collards and a corn muffin. All of it was tasty and satisfying. My husband said he enjoyed the meat loaf and the fried okra. The desserts seemed like they were store-bought but they were absolutely delicious so whoever is choosing those is doing a good job. My husband had the chocolate creme cake and I had the blueberry pie. The style of the place is old-fashioned but it seemed very clean to us. We'd eat here again for sure. read more

Jomars makes a good steak, has a good salad bar, and always has plenty of seating, but the service often leaves a lot to be desired. This combined with the surly, rude attitude of the owner takes down the rating a bit. Be prepared to pay, as this place costs quite a bit more than it should for a place like this. They also nickel and dime you on things like a to-go cup. We were recently told that our toddler couldn't eat off of our plates (ordered an entree), not even for a shared plate fee, and spending $7 for a kid's meal or bar is just too much. read more

The buffet is awful. It would have probably been better if we ordered from the menu instead. The people at the desk are rude when you walk in. The waitress was nice. There was a whole entire leaf in the rice somehow and I pointed it out to my boyfriend and they came and said something about the leaf. DO NOT GO TO JOMARS IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY AND A SERVICE DOG!! OWNER DOES COMPLY WITH ADA LAW AND WILL DENY YOU! I only gave it a 1 because I had to in order to leave a review or else they would not have gotten that. My husband David , son Trevor, and I went to Jamars today. I have a Service Dog and we have been here with her once before and not a problem. Today a girl came and said she was sent to ask for my service dog tag so I proceeded to inform her there is no such thing and that is is also illegal to ask. I handed her an ADA Law card and she walked away. We ordered our drinks and I could see them at the register talking about me so my David goes to see what the problem is as I am already starting to have an anxiety attack. When David came back I could tell he was not happy and said let's go. The Owner would not come out and speak with him and instead sent his workers do his nasty work. He told them we could not sit where I normally do in the sunroom area away from the people in the main area. He said we needed to be moved to the back because supposedly someone complained that Phoebe was a big dog. When David told them no we would not be moving and they were by law not allowed to ask us to do that and they had plenty of chances to ask the only 2 questions allowed by the ADA but not one time bothered to do so. The girls felt bad and apologized and said they understood and was only trying to do their job. David asked to speak to the owner but he would not come out. David told them to make sure he knew it was illegal to deny us, ask us to move because of my service dog, and deny us service because of her, we will be filing a complaint with the ADA along with the Advocates for Service Animals Partner, and now he can deal with them. I do not recommend this place to anyone with a disability or a service dog as the owner does not care about our rights. My anxiety went straight into a severe panic attack and I have never been so embarrassed having to leave a place and not be able to have my service dog help me until we got to my car because we were not welcome inside the restaurant. Jomars does not have to ever worry about me coming back as being humiliated in front of so many people because I have a disability once was enough for me. We were trying to find something open late with fast service that wasn't fast food so we thought we would give this a try (there's not a ton of options nearby). Now for the compliment sandwich; this was fast... Some of it tasted ok (the fried chicken and the ranch dressing were good), but I have to agree with Heather B on the ish factor. Most of the food was frozen/packaged cheap stuff. The floor was dirty and gross. I totally get that people drop things in a buffet environment, but it takes two seconds to do a little sweeping around before a guest is seated. It felt very cafeteria like... and dirty cafeteria at that. Nothing was labeled, so it made it difficult to guess what things were (was not always obvious). The dessert bar was a bit laughable. It was later in the evening but they were nearly out of almost everything ( yet charging full price $11),and the things they did have were kept on the grocery store plastic disk they came on. Over priced for what it was, and the quality of food was just plain poor. To finish the compliment sandwich, the server was extremely friendly so that was a positive. read more

Been going to Jomars for many years..went for buffet a little after lunch today.. i was so shocked to find a hair in my broccoli casserole!..a long dark hair!..unbelievable. i was so disgusted...immediately i told my waitress..at which time she informed me that she use to be the manager there , but was no longer , so therefore there was nothing she could do !...she offered me a new plate and fork...well my stomach was completly turned at this point , i said no i was going to leave....so she said i would only be charged for a sm salad?...no i said that's not acceptable..i have only eaten a couple of bites..anyway i ended up not paying simply because i refused!..but was still charged for a tea that i only had a couple of sips. Ok sooo I can't believe I've never left a review since this is my go to spot after church! I love jomars for a number of reasons. They're a freaking soul food buffet!!! You can never go wrong with that! I've never had a bad experience here. Good fried chicken, baked chicken, Mac and cheese, COLLARDS TO DIE FOR!! The stuffed crab mmmmmm all sooo good. The sweet tea is always good just hate they charge $1 for to go drinks so tryfling because that tea is too good to not take home! I love coming here well worth the drive. They have a good salad bar nice soups and good ole fat back. Very spacious seating and good for large parties. Huge parking lot. Oh yeah the ice cream is also really good.
