I pulled it out of the scabbard and managed to cut two fingers in three locations. And one cut was deep, bleeding like a stuck pig. My son in law loaded me up and took me around the corner to Prompt Urgent Care. What a bunch of nice folks. The Dr sewed me up quickly and was so concerned she might be hurting me. You. Couldn't ask for more thoughtful and compassionate people. I just wish this location was close to my home. And yes, they finished me up fast enough that we were able to get back to Foundation before my wife was out of surgery. Prompt Urgent Care saved the day. (and my finger)!

He convinced me I needed to go to the hospital, which I'm so glad he did, as I progress in my symptoms of a small stroke and meningitis. Dr Larrington had me wait in the comfort of Prestige until my hospital room was ready and an ambulance would transport me. And again, reassuring me it was covered. Unfortunately we didn't understand that they would not be providing the wheelchair. They advertise "medical " transport. The driver showed up in a minivan. If my mom would have had her own wheelchair she would not have been able to ride securely in the van. She had great difficulty being lifted into the van. Not safe for an 86 year old woman recovering from hip replacement surgery. We essentially paid for a very $$$$$ expensive Uber ride. The driver was a nice gentleman and he delivered mom safely. We had to pay for this service privately from our mom's fixed income because it's not covered by insurance. I spoke with case manager today from rehabilitation facility where my mom was transferred from, he confirmed that he in fact can confirmed with Everyday Health that this would be a wheelchair van transport and he was assured it would be. He and his staff were as shocked as we were when the driver showed up in a minivan. If I would have known this would be the service we would receive for my 86 year old mom post total hip replacement, I would have done it myself.

This was done to protect both patient and practice. Unfortunately, this directive was ignored and detailed patient information was provided to an unauthorized person. This is extremely unfortunate as the care we received was stellar. However, I just can't look past the blatant disregard for HIPAA and privacy laws - and the provider releasing PHI without authorization.
