Quickly sat on a busy Saturday afternoon, super cute spot and elevated interior. Service was quick and always checking in or clearing tables. Everyone was around to help out and assist! Fantastic brunch! All the classics, but with a fried chicken twist. We tried 3 dishes... The Chicken Benedict, which had fried chicken instead of ham. It was so savory and crunchy and the eggs were perfectly runny, the hollandaise was rich and creamy and the spicy pepper relish added so much flavor and only a tiny bit of heat. It came with a greens salad on the side with a sharp vinaigrette which I love to contrast the rich hollandaise. The fried chicken and waffles. The twist on this was it had hot honey siracha syrup instead of maple syrup. It was amazing! The huevos breakfast burrito had fried chicken, chorizo, avocado, cheddar, tomato and onion. It has the perfect combination of each ingredient. It was so delicious. The portion sizes are generous, so we definitely did not need try the Shy Bird Dunks - which are their version of the chicken nuggets, with the flight of 5 sauces, but we ordered it anyway and took some home. When you want a great breakfast in a cool vibey spot, this is the place. We woke up the day after a concert and decided why cook when we can keep the fun weekend going? We went over and got a table inside to escape the heat. I went with the classic breakfast with eggs, homefries, toast, and bacon. It was great the eggs, homefries, and bacon were cooked perfectly. The toast was sourdough and tasted phenomenal. My friend got the burrito with some greens and loved it as well. Our server was great and always made sure our drinks were full and helped if we needed anything. The host was a little bit of a talking point for us. I got the bubbly cosmo which was small but delicious. Whipped feta app: 4/5, delicious feta and generous with honey however it only comes with a small amount of bread. We had to ask for extra bread to mop up the rest of the dip. Smash burger: 4/5, definitely one of the better smash burgers I've ever had. The meat was super juicy and flavorful. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine (pink, orange) - not bad but felt a bit watered down but then maybe that's just how they taste?! The food however was absolutely delicious. We got the crispy brussel sprouts, the piri piri chicken with half fries half salad, and then the sticky toffee cake with maple ice cream. Stopped into ShyBird before a Red Sox game. Love that they had reservations available and could accommodate our larger party ... We sat down at 5:30 and wasn't greeted by our waiter until 5:55. When rushing to a game that's problematic. The service is the reason I took off a star. Our waiter wasn't knowledgeable, in attentive and didn't seem to have a care in the world while we pleaded for some attention to our table. The bar cranked out our drinks pretty fast but unfortunately couldn't master a dirty martini. The drinks off the cocktail menu were definitely better but the speed was good. The food was the highlight! The smash burger is the best I've ever had. Artichokes were top tier, Brussels incredible and chicken sandwich was so tasty and everyone was happy, even the vegetarians. I'll be back before a Red Sox game simply because the food was incredible and the convenience of a reservation. But if I see that same waiter again, I'll request a switch. read more

Shy Bird is great spot to grab dinner with friends. I came here with 4 friends and we all really enjoyed our meal. I got the smash burger with fries (so good) and the blood orange spritz which was super refreshing and fruity (just how I like it). The smash burger comes with a special sauce, American cheese, and shredded lettuce with a side of either fries or greens. I love a special sauce, and theirs is delicious. At this Fenway location, they have the layout of the space planned out/sectioned off nicely. By the bar you're seated either directly at the bar or at hightop tables in an area with bright lights and there's tv's on playing sports (basically picture your classic bar scene), but then they also have normal low-top seating near the bar (which is more like your regular restaurant experience), as well as a whole section that is dimly lit and has a date night vibe to it. Second time here, this time for brunch! Love the ambience- feels really warm especially in this cold winter weather outside. Also the place was packed! That great to see businesses thriving. I ordered the breakfast plate without bacon - came with scrambled eggs, Iggys toast and fried potatoes. Good portion. Eggs were fluffy but without any seasoning and they also did not have any salt and pepper on the table. I did also have to ask for jam for my toast which came in a squeeze pouch which was actually nice to just squeeze onto the toast. The potatoes were quite good well cooked and seasoned- I just would prefer them roasted rather than fried. I also wish they had omelettes. The hubs had the wrap and others had the half bird either fries and the egg white avocado bowl which all looked good. Perfect study/work spot. I visited Shy Bird on a weekday morning for the "Work from Shy Bird" deal. Of note you need to make a reservation! I didn't realize but the staff kindly still accommodated me, but they can provide an outlet and longer seating time if you have a reservation. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a big open space, lots of windows, and a beautiful patio for nice weather. They have a specific menu which includes breakfast items, sandwiches, half chicken, and salads/grain bowls. Theres also a specific drink menu which includes all the nice coffee drinks (latte, mocha, etc) and also matcha, hot chocolate, and chai lattes. Theres also a tea list! Drinks can be hot or iced. I tried the Calabrian chicken salad wrap with the rosemary fries, which was so yummy. It wasn't spicy but has a little kick, and was fresh and yummy. The rosemary on the fries was super tasty. I tried the match and chai latte and both were excellent. Would especially like to highlight how good the service was! While I didn't get the wrap itself, I did try all the components separately, and the Caesar salad ended up being my favorite part of the meal. I was grabbing a bite and a drink with 2 of my girlfriends before the Jonas Brothers concert at Fenway, and this was the perfect spot to fuel up. Then moved to the eats. I ordered the Spiced Mushroom Bowl and added the Rotisserie Chicken. I must say, this dish exceeded my expectations. This ricotta spread so beautifully over the toasted bread), and the truffled chicken frites (some seriously delicious truffle fries). Some dishes that didn't wow me were the cauliflower fondue (wasn't really the fondue I had expected, and I t was more of a cauliflower steak dish), smashburger, dunks (a little small for their price), and the fried rice (I thought they might have their own spin on this, but it was a little disappointing and flavorless). I was really impressed by my first Work From Shy Bird experience! When you come in, the host asks how many are in your party and if you need an outlet, then they find an appropriate spot for you. I thought this was genius, compared to your average coffee shop experience of showing up and going through the trouble of finding a seat, only to realize that there's no outlet. We got there pretty early so we had our choice of seating and opted for a booth by the window. It definitely got busier as the morning went on, including those not doing the WFH deal. I ordered an iced matcha and the Egg White + Avocado Bowl. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the bowl was. We also got a side of potatoes to share, which were also nicely seasoned. I got an iced chai later on, which I didn't enjoy as much, so I ended with another matcha. Renee was our first server, and she was fantastic. When her shift was over, we got a new server. The interior is mostly a bar with some dining tables lining the walls. The staff were very helpful when we had questions about the menu and cocktails. The cocktails were all hits and the blistered shishito peppers and whipped ricotta & hot honey appetizers were pretty good. I ordered the whole classic bird and was surprised as to how small it was. Glad I went with the whole and not a half. Flavor of the herb roasted chicken was very good. The bread pudding dessert was fantastic!
