I walked here from the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center for lunch. The wasn't many people here at the time so there was no wait. The food was really good. We got the loaded tater tots which were essentially giant fired mashed potato balls and they were delicious. I also got the Ahi Tuna Stacks which were really delightful and the wontons were really nice and crisp with a good amount of tuna in it! The atmosphere is cool, the service was fine, nothing particularly great nor bad about the service and there is some street parking here. Overall, I'd recommend it as a good lunch spot and walkable from the convention center. read more

We stopped by for dinner on December 7,2025 and were very disappointed. Perhaps it was an off-day, but the food was definitely was disappointing. My wife ordered the chicken pot pie. What she got was essentially mashed potatoes in a pie crust. No chicken or vegetables. I got the braised short rib and it was dry and fatty. My son got the Teriyaki Steak Bowl is was so so and the rice was cold. We did get the loaded tater tots, which were fine, but honestly I don't see what everyone is excited about. The service was very good and the staff polite, but we went to this restaurant based on their claim of "Our seasonal menus are approachable, carefully crafted and consist of fresh, home-spun American fare skillfully led by our Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Chris Bauers". I think Chris Bauers must have been out because the food was certainly not carefully crafted or fresh. I would let this go, but as I went through my old receipts, I had to let them know that you aren't living up to your claim. Come on guys. Mashed potatoes in a crust passing as a chicken pot pie? Great spot to grab lunch or dinner! There are tons of TVs so it's a perfect spot to watch a game. Food is solid! Popular items ordered included the burger - great portion size and good options for sides (regular fries, truffle fries, sweet potato fries, salad). On weekends, they have brunch specials. Tried out the hot chicken and waffles which was amazing, but as one might expect, hot!! Really tasty food all around. Service was good, but not great. Our server wasn't super attentive with getting refills on drinks, but it could have been that the restaurant was more busy. If you like small menus, updated decor, and some above average food this is your spot! Pretzel was really good, the honey mustard was interesting and the beer cheese was good nothing crazy to obsess about. The wrap was fine, wish it had a bit more chicken and the sweet potato fries were solid. The burger (not pictured) cooked to temp, huge honestly and nice to see it doesn't always have to be a smash burger anymore. Their brunch menu we couldn't have much because of the time of day we went in but also couldn't look at dinner yet, maybe if we came in a different time could see more options. We had a really nice dinner here before going to a show at the garden, we picked it because of its proximity to our hotel, and it had some vegetarian options for my husband. We didn't have a reservation but were promptly seated and our server was nice. I had a really great drink that was the special and also had a portion being donated to charity. We shared the nachos to start and my husband LOVED them. I had a Caesar wrap with tots, he had an Alfredo pasta, both were good I initially got fries delivered instead of the tots I had ordered but they quickly fixed it. The food was super bland. And it was every dish. The food quality was also lacking in general. The tenders looked like they were re-fried. The Parmesan cheese on the Caesar salad was chewy. The croutons were mushy. I asked for some garlic aioli to add some flavor to my burger but was given what tasted like stale mayo with zero garlic. The ambiance was pretty nice but a bit dark in the back and the high chairs were very uncomfortable. The majority of the restaurant has high chairs & tables. There were some booths tucked away in the back. The service was ok. A couple of things forgotten but friendly towards the end. Honestly surprised this place doesn't have better reviews! I really enjoyed my brunch there. Service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Farmer's Market Brunch Bowl without bacon - 2 over easy eggs over home fries, roasted sweet potato, roasted Brussels sprouts, and some kind of garlicky aioli sauce. Everything was very tasty and I LOVED the home fries. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. My two small complaints - the Brussels sprouts in my dish were only lightly roasted, bordering on raw, which is not my favorite. And as far as ambiance goes, this place is LOUD. Making a reservation online was kind of a pain, it wouldn't let me make an account (which it made me make) and I didn't get any confirmation for anything. My friend tried and she said hers went through but when we went her name wasn't put down for anything. It wasn't busy though so we were easily able to get a table. Our waitress was barely seen, other than getting our order right when we sat down. We ran out of water pretty quick and no one was around to refill and when we ordered we asked for extra sauce and pickles but they were never given. The food was decent, we got 2 burgers the Hot Bird and Turkey Smash. The Hot Bird lacked sauce in both the hot honey and in the spicy chicken flavor itself. The Turkey also could use more aioli sauce. The briole bun on each was a great touch though, it was a little sweet and had a great crunch. The fries just needed some salt but nothing special. The Spicy Sweet Potato Tacos came with 3 tacos and were not spicy, the portion on the taco itself was small. Also the fried plantains were just 3 small pieces. ‍ The burgers were $18 each and tacos for $17. A High Noon was $10 and Budlight for $6. If you were looking for apps note the price was the same as a meal. Overall nothing special for nearly $20 for a meal. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on Sunday and were able to snag seats at the bar. We ordered the Mexican Street Nachos, Fried Pickles, and the infamous Cinnabon Pancakes. The Mexican Street Nachos were fine but nothing memorable, and the fried pickles were unfortunately soggy. The pancakes took a very long time to come out, but they were good once they arrived. Our main issue, however, was the service. We were never asked how our food was or if we needed anything, despite sitting directly at the bar where the bartender was working right in front of us. What was especially frustrating was that the couples seated on either side of us arrived and ordered after we did, yet received their food and were able to pay and leave before us. The lack of attention and urgency in serving us, especially when compared to the couples seated next to us, was noticeable and ultimately negatively affected our dining experience. I hesitate to speculate on the reason, but the contrast in how we were treated versus the neighboring guests made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing. Overall, the food was hit or miss, but the poor service at the bar really took away from the experience. Not sure if we will go again. read more

We have loved the pumpkin spice espresso martini that was on the seasonal menu, and noticed it was no longer on the menu. I asked a staff member just off-hand if they still had it, and not only did she say they could still make it if they had the ingredients, but she went out of her way to check downstairs to see if they still had some pumpkin spice liquor left since there wasn't any at the bar itself. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience at Laylas yesterday. I booked a reservation for 9:45pm for Saturday, 3 days in advance on OpenTable. I confirmed the reservation Friday via text. Additionally, I got a text at 9:45pm Saturday saying "please reply if you are on your way." I responded immediately. At 9:52 we arrived. The outside bouncer told us there were no reservations and the kitchen was closing at 10. We explained that is fine, we will just have drinks (The bar closes at 1am). He said no, and went to get a manager. The manager came out and was extremely rude, disrespectful, and raised his voice at us. He said the kitchen is closed, and we were way too late for our reservation. Again, we arrived at 9:52 and let the restaurant know via text we were on the way. He said to us "don't pretend we are in the wrong here". I showed the reservation on our phone and how we confirmed with the restaurant twice - but we were still told we were wrong. It was clear the restaurant mistakenly took our reservation via OpenTable. They had 3 days to cancel - but did not. The fact that they blamed US for their mistake is beyond me. I have never been so disrespected and belittled by a manager before. read more

Too noisy, likely due to a match being on, which wasn't a big deal. However, the waiting time was unacceptable. Our drinks arrived half an hour later, and our food took an entire hour to be served. We ordered steak tips and steak fajitas, requesting them to be cooked medium well. Despite the long wait, the food was undercooked.
