a plate of food on a table

After reading the reviews, I wasn't exactly excited to go here. However, there isn't much in Tioga I found in the category of breakfast. So, I set out to some diner I found on yelp, I get there and find the side street diner. Not the name Yelp had it listed as, however same address. So after submitting a name change request I walk in and see their menu says established 2020. New ownership. Rebrand. Not sure, but it looks nice inside and it is pretty busy. The clientele is representative of what I expected the area to be. Workers in Fire Retardant coveralls, people coming from church, and a few families with kids. I ordered a coffee and some water, I wasn't offered creamer or sugar, but I can drink coffee black Not a problem. I assumed my waitress was a bit overwhelmed by how red her face was and how quickly she was rushing all over the place. I will live without cream and sugar lol. She came back to me after about 15 minutes and I ordered the chicken fried steak, with western style hash browns, scrambled eggs, and wheat toast. After about 45 minutes or so, my food came out. The crisp on the steak and seasoning were pretty good. Hash browns were browned well, and had a healthy serving of cheese on them. My eggs were cooked just the way I wanted. The meal itself was very good, the wait was a little long, and the service was decent for someone who was visibly overwhelmed. Side note: I did eventually get cream and sugar after being asked how my food was and getting a refill from (I think her name was Stephanie) one of the wait staff and manager if I had to guess. Check out was easy. I came back a week later with a buddy and had a very similar wait time/dining time. So its definitely worth checking out. But make sure you set aside an hour at the minimum.

Just Off Main's Knoephla Soup - delicious

Stopped here for breakfast/lunch. We have been here several times before and it's always been good. Hubby had biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns. The plate was loaded with B&G, there was a ton of sausage in the gravy and he said it was delicious. Their daily soup was Knoephla (I had never heard of it) so I decided to try it with a salad. They have a salad bar, has iceberg and several dressings to choose from, several toppings like black olives, cheese, peppers, croutons, sunflower seeds, also cottage cheese and stuff like that. The soup was delicious, it was like a creamy chicken noodle but instead of noodles it was small dumplings, and was chock full of carrots and celery. I would definitely order it again, and next time we are in town we will eat at Just Off Main

Best breakfast in town hands down. You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't try thier breakfast.

A good homey little diner in the middle of nowhere beats the crap out of the Sportsman's.

Very friendly staff. Ordered chicken fried steak which was great. Huge amount of food. The service staff was wonderful. They served coke and pepsi products!! Thank goodness for the diet coke. They even gave me a to go cup. My meal was tasty and flavorful. The ambiance was great. Great signs all over the wall were fun to look at while waiting. Creamers and jellies on the table. Husband ordered some type of chicken sandwich which was very good as well. He received fries with his meal. They were very good. Everything was great. Clean, family oriented. Lots of locals eating there. Will return next time I am visiting Williston!

The moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed with that classic small-town diner charm. The friendly crew of young ladies greet everyone with a warm "Hi!" and clearly know their regulars by heart. This time around, I was craving liver and onions, and Lonnie's delivered. Two perfectly cooked slices, tender, flavorful, and just the right balance between not too rare and not overdone. Served with hash browns, corn, and a warm roll, it made for the perfect comfort meal. Big thanks to Lonnie's for satisfying the craving with some seriously delicious liver and onions. If you're in town and craving a hearty, home-cooked meal, do yourself a favor and stop by Lonnie's. Highly recommended! .

Haahaaahahaaa... drove halfway across the country this week to attend a funeral in North Dakota and…read moreended up in this dive for brunch on Saturday. I knew we were in trouble when my boyfriend and I arrived before the rest of our party and the restaurant was packed. There was a section closed off and I crossed my fingers that it had been reserved for us, but alas... upon arrival, the host of our party told us that Dakota Farms doesn't take reservations and that we were just going to have to fill in tables as they became available. I knew from reading the reviews on yelp that this was going to be a sh!tshow, but re-entered the restaurant with at least 20 other people, who began rearranging tables so we could sit as together as possible. The waitresses kept yelling at us for blocking the path from the kitchen to the dining room, but when you're dealing with so many people, but no one from the staff actually wants to help... we should have taken our business elsewhere, but, ya know... it's hard to sit back and watch a situation get out of hand when you're not anywhere near in charge... We all get seated, orders taken, and then proceed to wait an hour and a half for our food. Yes, like I said, there were a lot of us, but the menu is one side of a legal size piece of paper. It's not like they're the Cheesecake Factory.. and most of the food was breakfast. Seriously, any mom can bust out egg breakfasts with fried meat and toast for a crew in no time. I ordered a chicken club sandwich and they must have dropped my chicken patty in the oil as soon as I ordered it because it was like the sole of an old boot, but with less flavor. Due to my disability, I have to cut up my sandwiches to get them into my mouth, and I had to ask my boyfriend to cut my sandwich because all my sawing effort could not make my butter knife cut through that chicken. He could barely accomplish that task. Then there was absolutely no condiments on the sandwich, which was supposed to have mayo, so it was as dry as the desert. I couldn't eat it. The boyfriend had the French dip, with chips. Don't know why he orders chips. He never eats them. The sandwich was okay. Nothing to write home about... yet here I am writing about it to warn you that the only reason it's edible is because of the bowl of jus. Our newfound neice had a breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, hash browns, meat and toast. Shes 15 and ate it all, with ketchup and jelly and a glass of mountain dew and a cup of coffee that was half sugar. Our newfound auntie had some decent french toast. I cant tell you what everyone else had, cuz we were still scattered across the dining room. Though some people did yell from table to table. However, i think it was my trip to the bathroom that sums up the whole experience. The busted state of the toilet says it all. The owner of this establishment clearly doesn't care about the quality of anything. They know that most of the customers are out of towners and that they'll never be back again so there's no reason to try to win anyone over. Avoid this place unless you feel like you need to be punished for your transgressions. Would not recommend

Service was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Maybe the best part was the three painted and decorated cow sculptures out front. They reminded of several years back when decorated pigs were sprinkled throughout downtown Seattle. We came here for a late lunch, but noticed that they had a Sunday buffet for $18.95 that goes until 2pm. You can't beat that price for a buffet. So our table ordered cheeseburgers, biscuits and gravy, the all-you-can-eat salad bar, walleye salmon and the hamburger steak dinner. A note about the walleye salmon. This fish is actually a perch and exists in local water bodies around here. Everything was very good with the possible exception of the gravy on the biscuits. My nephew noted that something tasted weird in the gravy. I suspected it was nutmeg that my nephew was tasting. I sampled the gravy, and sure enough, it had been strongly spiced with nutmeg. Also, the walleye salmon (perch) had a bit of a fishy flavor, though the sandwich it came in was fine otherwise. I though the fish portion looked a bit svelte. The hamburger steak dinner, which included the onions & mushroom add-on was excellent. The brown gravy was delicious. We'd definitely come back.
