Driving through town & saw the Better B Cafe. Even though the parking lot was full, we found a table right away & we're immediately brought menus. We split the Patty Melt with onion rings. Although the melt was good, on my 1/2 the patty barely covered 1/2 of the bread. Otherwise it was hot & cooked well. Staff was friendly & efficient & there were lots of menu choices. read more

My family and I went to breakfast at the Better B Cafe in New Town, ND. There were 13 of us on a Friday morning for breakfast as we were all visiting the area of a family event. The Better B Cafe had a room for everyone to sit together. The place was busy. The wait staff looked efficient, and everyone appeared friendly. I would like to give a special shout-out to our waitperson, Sydney. She was amazing! She was attentive, got the orders right, and ensured we all had coffee and drinks refilled throughout our meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the amount provided. Great value, for sure. There were two in my party who wanted to pay for the meals all on one ticket. Sydney, using her quick thinking and ingenuity to resolve the issue, had another employee anonymously pick the credit card to be used. I thought that was quite clever. Ate breakfast here after one leg of a trip through ND and absolutely loved it. The waitress was so friendly, the food came out quick and the portions are very generous! I had bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Bacon - cooked to perfection! Scramble on the eggs - perfection! Pancakes - giant and sooooo delicious! My husband had two eggs over easy, sausage links and toast and enjoyed them thoroughly. He said the eggs were spot on. The cook knows what over easy means and that's not always the case. Coffee was the good, old fashioned diner roast and my coffee cup was never less than half full! It was a nice experience and a relaxing breakfast. We never felt rushed at all. We are here in North Dakota for the Annual Little Shell powwow and wanted to find somewhere to eat breakfast. We decided to eat at Better B's cafe. The food was good, the service was great, and the price wasn't too bad. Definitely coming back next year. read more

Standard small town diner. Staff is very helpful and attentive. The menu is typical diner style with mostly fried food. Chicken fingers and onion rings we not the best but they did the job. The atmosphere is quaint and everyone seems to know everyone and probably their business as well. If you like heavy food this is your place as vegetables are hard to come by. read more

Here for a late lunch. Nelson was our waiter and just wonderful. We both had cheeseburgers and a side of mac and cheese. Really tasty. Nelson lured us to take home a slice of carrot cake. Well worth it. It was great to see so many Native Americans. I hope we pass through again. read more

Leaving 1 star because 0 isn't an option! Husband and I went in today being that there isn't many places to go, but this wasn't better than nothing! We were shocked upon entering at the "cleanliness" of the restaurant. Was very dirty and food was presented in a non appealing way, I couldn't even convince myself to try it! Service wasn't great either. Waitress lingered over our table as we wrote the tip which is uncomfortable and unprofessional. read more

I think this place is really great, stopped with a friend and it was excellent. He was a local and knew several people which was nice, small town at it's best. Had a patty melt and it was scrumptious, plus the local people watching was very good. Good choices and well cooked, homemade and plenty of choices and large portions. Highly recommend. read more

The food is great, the only reason I come back. The service sucks unless you get lucky. You're lucky if you get refills, or checked in. You'll hear the cook yelling at waiters and buses to get food out and to pick up tables. Sadly they have an attitude with each other. Unprofessional atmosphere. :( read more
