I hate to pile on because I was excited about trying a new place but the wings were undercooked and the ranch was like water(I ordered blue cheese but didn't bother saying anything after trying the cold raw wings. Looking at the reviews for the area, I tried going here several times during my stay in NC. Due to the hurricane impact to the area they were unable to stay open as late. When I finally got into the place and tried there wings I was pleasantly surprised by the range of flavors and spice that they offered. But the bullet and bought 18 for 3 different sauces. They were amazing, and I decided to get several of their desserts for my work family the next day, I heard nothing but praise. I'm glad I did not read the reviews for this place before we came, especially the ones on other sites. We have been here many times now and have never had a bad experience. Staff is friendly, food has always been great, good beer selection what more do you want. One of my favorite is their chicken tenders and pub chips. I think their tenders are some of the best I've had. Super crispy on the outside but still juicy inside! The pub chips are also delicious and always crispy. I've had they burger also and it's very tasty. My girlfriend has had some of their other items and also liked them. Definitely one of our go to spots in the area! read more

The food was good once we finally received it. Two tables after us ate and left before we even received our entrees. We were told there was a "kitchen fire" but it seems only our order was affected. I went ahead and paid the bill and ordered dessert since we had somewhere to be and the server had only been to the table two other times. Dessert was a molten lava cake and it was delivered shortly after the entrees. It was already in the process of melting. We asked that dressert be brought out after we finished our meal, and when they did bring it out it was in a to go box and it was the same cake that they brought while we were starting to eat. Perhaps they tend to the locals first and then the out of towners. Was told they were short staffed but I did not see any short persons everyone seemed average height. I will say most restaurants in the 90's and early 2000's had the same amount of staff places have today it has just become trendy to say understaffed/overworked when you have to do your job nowadays. on a warm saturday afternoon we got lost in the woods north of town on an unnamed gravel road with banjo music wafting on the breeze - yea for bad touristing directions. eventually made our way back to paved surfaces and then located indoor plumbing and petrol service. after attending to our more urgent needs we went in search of food and beverage, a quick Yelp search put us here. yea here! nice night so we started on the patio, got as far as menus and water before a cluster of wankers put an end to that. picked up our stuff and sought clean air indoors. turns out that inside is pretty okay too! seating is available at the bar, the other bar, or high and low tops in the dining area including window seats fronting the sidewalk. got situated, got the waitress' attention, got our request in to the kitchen. wings are available in pairs with a minimum of six per flavor. we enjoyed eight hot, juicy, biggish garlic-parm wings plus blue cheese and ranch. our burgers came out as we were finishing up. MLB had a hamburger steak plus sweet potato fries and green beans; comes with grilled peppers and onions and texas toast - you're basically getting an extra side for a quarter. I didn't feel like building a sandwich so I went with the Carolina burger sans chili plus tots - a very good burger as burgers go but nothing spectacular. will probably ask for the chili on the tots next time... maybe add cheese and onion? super friendly service and a reasonable cash-for-sustenance exchange rate makes me happy. the place is way clean inside and out which goes a long way when I notice. so if you're near here, go here. you'll be alright. read more

A great local bar. Extra points for having Shiner Bock on tap. It's a clean place even when it's full. The people are helpful and friendly. We usually have wings. They have lots of wing options from mild to panic spicy. The only derogatory mark is that I wish their menu had more options. read more

After more than two hours we finally received our food. We made the waitress aware after 48 minutes with her response being "we have been swamped since opening". The next discussion came with the manager who gave the excuse of a large party. Yes this group came in 15 minutes after we had ordered and left 20 minutes prior to our food arrival. The Sides are basic sides, but are prepared very well too. The tap list is inclusive, but not extensive. Let me start by saying that I love the food at Side Street but I have to give a three star overall. SSP has some of the best wings in Lenoir and their Korean Chili sauce is one of the best wing sauces I've ever had. It has a perfect balance of heat and sweet. Some other favorites are their Jamaican Jerk and Garlic Parm. For main courses I've had their burgers and their skewers and I really can't complain about either one of them. The burgers have good flavor and the skewers have a great flavor but the rice is a little bland. But neither is really as good as getting the wings so that's usually what I got with and a side of pub chips. So why is it just a three star? While the service is great, the wait times are usually really long. You can find yourself with an empty glass frequently and it takes longer than it should to get your order in. I've also sat for twenty minutes waiting for someone to bring our check. No full disclosure that did happens during COVID shortages so I don't hold that against them, but it's still a bit longer than I'm comfortable with. They have a pretty good selection of brews and mixed drinks so If you have the time and are looking for some good cocktails and good food then SSP is a solid choice. Awesome place to eat and wide range of menu options that everyone will find something they love. First time stumbling on this gem in downtown Lenior. Went on MLK Day so it was pretty quiet, myself and two other patrons. But I had the day off from work and decided to give this place a shot. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the good vibes from the decor and seating setup. Very relaxed and chill feel.....my kind of place. Waitress was very attentive with drink orders, meals and topping off drinks. Food came out piping hot and fresh! I ordered the club with fries. Two very important things is that they don't skimp on the fries.....I like a lot of fries and that's exactly what I got with a side of ranch. Second is it comes with a pickle spear. I was excited to see the sparkly clean spot and servers that would greet and engage with customers! Service is beyond slow, when I walked in over half the table were empty and all were dirty. Waited over 4 minutes to be seated,, ice tea and menu were quick to the table that was the best part of the whole experence. Waited 10 minutes for the wait person to take my order. 25 minutes went by before my 6 wings and burger arrived. Wings were barely warm the wait person said she would get me another order but after waiting 25 minutes for them that was not going to happen. The Carolina burger was only warm as well and the only thing right about the burger was the burger it's self was cooked properly, a perfect med. The chili was nasty even compared to can chili and the slaw looked like someone never made slaw before and void of any taste. I have had Carolina burgers in many places in this area and Pour House is by far the worse I have ever had. I hope management/owners see this and at least address some of the issues but in the mean time go to Sonic at least they serve fast and good food. read more

First restaurant I have seen that does not give a side (fries, rings, etc.) with their sandwiches. Do Not get the tacos, they do taste good but are WAY too small for $2.50. Used to like this place but the service is gruff and unfriendly. The last few times I felt unwelcomed. We popped in to have a snack at the bar but there wasn't any where to sit. The side bar was closed for beer line cleaning (seriously what bar does that 4 PM on a Friday afternoon?) the main bar was draped with service items, personal effects etc by staff and only one spot open ( note only one guest was seated at the entire main bar) . No attempt made to accommodate us. We stood asking for what beers were ready since some of the taps were "busy" We never got an answer and were told we could sit outside but had to come back in to order beers. Ok so what beer can we have now to take outside? I don't know was the answer as she is filling a beer for a table of other folks. For a hot moment I thought she might be having a stroke or something it made no sense we are standing between two bars with only one page from nowhere to sit does not know what beer she is serving and we stay in there for five minutes just trying to make sense of it we finally walked out and they never said another word to us I don't know who the management is in there lately but it seems more aggravating to give them business than not there's way better craft brew in town read more
