The prices are a lot less expensive with a great selection and specials. They don't serve food but they also don't care if you bring it with you. Visited here with family for trivia. The eclectic questions made for a great time. The atmosphere is fun and made me happy to be out with fam. The bar you could smell, was a smoking permitted establishment as the smells linger. Although I didn't have an alcoholic beverage I could see they had an abundant variety of brews. I'm going to be honest - I don't know much about the Huntersville area but I definitely can tell you if a bar is good or not and Main St. Tavern is awesome! I would have never guessed that there was a bar here by the tracks had my boyfriend not brought me here. It's a local dive bar with a lot of great personality. The personality's come from many directions too! It's so hard not to have a good time. The owner, Bobby, is so nice and humble. I had only been there a couple of Football Sundays and he recognized me (also.. there probably not that many crazy haired Asians walking in daily, but yeah) and knew what I ordered. I love that "local" feel especially when I just moved to a brand new state and I feel out of touch no matter where I go! The bartender's are also stellar. In my visits there, I have noticed a couple of different women working the bar, but Brittany is my go-to! She is badass. For example, I was there for their NYE's party and she was single-handedly holding. it. down. Remember what drinks we ordered, ready to replenish, and even made me a custom shot though she was slammed. As a HUGE bonus: She's a NY Jets fan. :D I've come during the day and during the night as well. Each time I have seen familiar faces, which is always a good sign! Everyone is usually having a really great time and if there is ever any issues, the bad apple is taken care of immediately. Everyone is truly so nice and friendly. I've never had so many random, genuine conversations with people I have never met before in my life. They have multiple TVs, so there isn't an issue trying to catch whatever game you're into. Basket hoop game thing, virtual golf, and other things to keep the boys occupied. Bathroom is ALWAYS clean (another big plus!) each time I've gone. It's a hard working, low-key bar with high quality delivery and service. DEFINITELY recommend if you are in H-ville, looking to hang with the local scene and grab some awesome drinks. read more

I've unfortunately never had the pleasure of checking this place out as "Woody's"- the Ohio State bar with matching carpet, but I can only assume the new management has revamped this place quite a bit. THE gem of Huntersville dive bars. There really isn't much to the venue itself.- you walk in, there's a long bar on the left side with barstools, in addition to a section of tables and chairs on your right. There's enough TV's for you to catch a sports game no matter where you are seated or standing. There are 1 or 2 electronic games, one of which I know to be a golf game (looks more appealing the more you drink I'm sure). Towards the back you have your restrooms as well as a rear exit that leads out to a gazebo which anyone is welcome to. Bottom line here is the staff and the bar's following. I met the owners personally and they seem like a great group of guys. The bartenders are on the ball and don't make you wait around for drinks even on a busy saturday night. The crowd is modest and a lot of people found here are fun to talk to. If you like drinking and meeting new people, this is one of the best places to be in Huntersville and the surrounding areas. I LOVE this bar, it's close to home, but that's not what sold me. Since day one the bartenders have known my drink and name! It's very friendly and comfortable, especially as a female.
