Texas Cowboy Candy Burger
Jeremy R.

Looking for a good burger and chill vibes in Lexington? Look no further than Sidebar Grill. Truly the best burger I've had. I got a special for the day: Texas Cowboy Candy Burger. The burger was cooked to perfection, with crispy bacon, cowboy candy, cheese, sauce on top. The bun was also delicious, not sure if it is locally sourced but it tasted fresh. Our server was amazing. She was very friendly and attentive. Actually, everyone who works here is great. It feels like you're just hanging out with friends. There is only street parking available. We went during the week so it wasn't a problem. Sidebar is a great place to hit up before an event at Rupp or if you're just in the mood for great food.

Burger of the Day!

I was in Lexington for a business conference and this was right around the corner from my hotel. I was craving a burger and this place seemed to have a good reputation, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The burger was one of the best I've ever eaten, and I am a serious carnivore! It was called the Ron Swanson and was wagyu beef, applewood smoked bacon, Muenster cheese, and BBQ bacon mayo, on a buttered and grilled bun, along with amazing fries, and a sauce that has to be tried to believe! I'll be back here on my next trip to Lexington.

Visited on a Sunday when they usually don't serve burgers, but they accommodated my need for meat and made me a burger! It was a Sidechick with sweet potato fries accompanied by a hefe beer. Truly awesome experience for a one-time visit through the city.

Kitchen old school grill has been around a long time.

traveling through Lexington found this on Yep. This place is in downtown Lexington. It's a small place. Good atmosphere, sit at the bar, and look at the old grill that has been seasoned over the years. Fresh hand-made patties for the burger. And when I tasted it, you could taste the seasoning from the grill. Good service from the bartender.

Goddamn. Food was phenomenal, Excellent service. Definitely a good start to the evening and let me tell you the night is still young.

Burger with sweet potato fries

We were looking ( on yelp) for a new place to eat and we found Sidebar Grill which is located on Limestone just across from the courthouse. It is a dive bar with some great food. We had burgers and chose sweet potato fries (a must try) and a side salad. The burger was one of the best that I have had in awhile and the prices are very reasonable. There is a good selection of food on the menu including dinner items such as flat iron steak, fried chicken, and fish and chips. This place will be in our restaurant rotation.

Some of my favorite food in Lexington. Limited bar, but they try hard with seasonal beers. Sweet potato fries are a must.

Great food, great drink specials and great music. The beer selection is always nice, and tends to be cheap. Try the sweet potato fries!

We were just looking for a bar to have a drink so this place was good enough. Drinks, music, atmosphere, service and price were average.

Every year, while driving between Chicago and Florida, we make a tradition of stopping in Lexington…read moreto take our friend out for dinner. This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.

This was from the February 2026 menu…read more I can't begin to stay enough nice things about Millstone. From the ambiance, the staff, the chef, and of course the food; going and experiencing what they have to offer ranks among the top places in Lexington. With no shortage of well crafted, elegant, and new restaurants out there in Lexington right now; Millstone excels at elevating the familiar to level that Lexington has been waiting patiently to see. Even a solo visit can feel extraordinary at Millstone. On my visit, Amy M was absolutely amazing, her attention to details and perspectives allowed me to fully enjoy the experience from beginning to end. Before getting to the food, I must admit that the space is truly special. To have such a welcoming and warm environment in a historic location with an addition that feels just as natural as the rest of the building is truly grand. This alone helps you feel so at ease in the space right from the beginning. With my meal, I enjoyed both their schoolhouse old fashioned with house-made bitters and their black manhattan. Both are expertly crafted with care and attention to detail. If bourbon is not your thing, there's a plethora of other cocktails, wines, some beers, and even nonalcoholic options which is also a refreshing change that I welcome all restaurants to embrace. As for my meal, first off you will not be disappointed by any of the portions, everything that I had and saw coming out of the kitchen will leave no one who comes to Millstone hungry. Additionally, the menu is both simple and expansive. There's an offering for just about any appetite. For my starter, I was actually stuck on what starter to get because all of the items sound so good!!! I ended up selecting the crab cakes with fried green tomatoes and let me tell you, they are absolutely delicious. The batter on the tomatoes was perfect, the crab delectable, and the remoulade was very well balanced and provided the right about of heat to the dish. For my main, I had the braised short rib. In full transparency this is one of the pricier entree's but it is absolutely worth it! The short rib is done so well it melts in your mouth! The potatoes are creamy and expertly seasoned to pair so well with braising jus, the honey brussel sprouts, and root vegetables. This dish is a tender love letter that you want to keep reading and enjoying time and time again. Halfway through my meal Chef Tyler even came through the dining room to meet with patrons and talk to them!! As it was earlier in the evening, I was so appreciative to see him interacting with the patrons and when he stopped by it was so nice to speak with him and pay compliments to him, Amy, and everything they're doing at Millstone. To end my visit, I enjoyed the brown butter mascarpone cheesecake. Brown butter is already such a wonderful treat, but to have it with a cheesecake was top notch!!! This was truly a wonderful visit and I can't wait to go back and enjoy another offering from Millstone

The ambiance made it feel like a special place to celebrate. That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. The food would have been better if it was seasoned. Way overpriced for the quality given. We were seated at a two-top, and the tables were extremely close together. Unfortunately, we could hear every word of the conversation happening right next to us, which took away from the intimate date-night experience we were hoping for. The drink and bar service was also quite slow. Our dinner ended up taking nearly two hours from start to finish. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of our visit, but the seating arrangement and pace of service made the experience less enjoyable than we expected for a special occasion.
