The teachers are so detail-oriented that I feel like she has a brand new skill perfected every day. She holds pens properly, can read a few words, can count over 20, sings nonstop, and is currently potty training and her teachers are rockstars guiding her in all this. I leave her at 7 am every day with her teachers who keep her company and talk and play with her till all her friends get there. Throughout the day they read, sing, learn letters and numbers, have open play, gym and playground time, do arts and crafts, and so much more. The facility is cozy with cubbies for each child, a kitchen to heat food for the kids, and artwork everywhere. My daughter loves showing me what she and her friends made each week. The director keeps us in the know with monthly newsletters and calendars and truly cares for each family. They also set up extra optional enrichment activities like dance and tumbling classes and field trips. They do a wonderful job of including parents, grandparents, and siblings in events like the Thanksgiving luncheon and holiday festivities. I checked out half a dozen daycares and schools in Flemington and I am so glad we chose Berry Patch.

When you drop off you have that anxiety that NOBODY can care for your child like you. You know their different cries, their schedules, Cues. They don't know these strangers. What if the teachers can't do it like you? Well, the teachers arent you... they do it like professionals!!! You only have 1 kid... they have multiple. I've walked into the room so many times impressed that they do this day in and day out with a smile. I remember sitting at a red light soon after starting, and my daughter kept putting her hand towards her mouth. She did this a couple days before I realized she was using sign language!!! My husband and I instantly started practicing so we could recognize what our daughter was saying! It was amazing to feel we could communicate with her, and she wasn't as frustrated because we could understand her! As she she gets older, se switches to new teachers. They do a great job introducing them gradually before the full switch! 2. Baby #2 we started at 5 months old. Equal amount of tears in my eyes as I dropped off. I instantly pulled up the camera and watched them hug her and shake some toys to get her attention. My anxiety was related to bottles this time. My daughter never had a bottle. Exclusive breastfeed. We tried introducing a bottle around 4 months, using all the tricks. But no success. How would my baby eat?!!!! I was so lucky that I work next door. The teacher would give it a couple attempts and if no success they would call me and I'd walk over. They let me nurse in the backroom. I did this for a week or 2 until finally the teachers messaged me in the app saying SUCCESS!! She took her first full bottle! They were just as excited and proud as I was. The app communication center is great. Even now, we had an unusual drop off that the girls were both emotional and "off". I can just send a message "how is their day going" and they keep me in the loop!! Great piece of mind! There isn't a bad teacher in the bunch!! All the teachers know our kids names, even if they aren't in their class! We walk down the hallway and they all use their names when saying goodbye for the day!!!

The summer program is another highlight. The kids get to enjoy so many fun and engaging activities, including musical performers, puppet shows, water play, foam parties, and even drive-in movie days. Since our boys started at Goddard, I've always noticed what I think of as a "trickle-down effect." The management is respectful, the teachers are respectful, and the children reflect that same culture. The kids are so well-behaved compared to what we've experienced elsewhere, and I truly believe that's a result of the positive environment the school creates. Most importantly, I know my boys are safe, genuinely cared for, challenged, and kept engaged every day. The teachers also provide appropriate structure and discipline, which has helped them grow tremendously. Goddard played a huge role in helping my boys thrive and prepare for public school. Like any daycare, there is some staff turnover, but it's minimal compared to other centers we've experienced. What also gives me confidence is that Miss Lori has been there for over 20 years and oversees teacher training. Knowing that every teacher receives the same high standard of training really shows in the quality of care. I often find myself lingering during drop-off and pick-up just to chat with the staff because I genuinely enjoy the warm, welcoming environment. I'm honestly sad that my 5-year-old is aging out because we've loved being part of the Goddard family. On a side note, their brochures, bulletins, Facebook page and website are rife with misspellings and grammatical errors. They should be embarrassed. I was given the bait and switch.

They took initiative to make videos and zoom calls to read stories with the kids throughout the shut down and even made "back to school" videos to acclimate the little ones to teachers who would be wearing masks. In school, they have done so many activities and encourage family interactions. They host Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad for mothers/father's day; hosted Pre K graduations after hours to celebrate all the graduates; encourage Trunk or Treats (now decorated tables in the yard instead of cars which makes more sense for safety) for Halloween; make special Christmas crafts for purchase to use as gifts. The list goes on. The curriculum is very good. My older daughter was over prepared for kindergarten. She was taught all Kindergarten basics in the Pre K class and did very well academically (she still does well). My preschooler only left to go to the district free preschool, otherwise we would still be there. She too was well educated, taught to write her name at 3 as well as spell her name. She can even spell her friends names (both first and last!) The cost is consistent with all the other private preschools in the area except that the camera access is included with tuition. I know other friends that pay extra fees for the camera/app access. The app was accurate and consistently used which allowed open communication between staff and families. I would definitely recommend Childtime Flemington to any families looking for a private daycare/preschool!
