I love being a member here! Indie vibes all day. Validated parking for the garage. Lots of $5 movies for members! I have seen so many movies here this year and attended the Dragon Boat Film Festival as well. They have a myriad of film festivals and collections! I like that it's in a central area with food and coffee shops around it. I do wish they had cold brew coffee! Stock some Stumptown or something for the coffee addicts. :)

Outside in between buildings is the Sie!

The Sie is a great place to check out an indie movie, a film fest, etc. They have a coffee shop vibe when you walk in with a seating area and tables. You can also get adult beverages at the counter. The front door is in-between buildings so you just got to look a little bit closer to get inside the Sie. Nearby are some other establishments, so it's a great stop to get eats/drinks before or after a show. They once had some low-priced movie (monthly, or something) for an older, classic movie but I can't find anything on their website. So either they stopped it or don't promote/inform it well. I'm lucky to have the Sie, Esquire, and Mayan indie-type theaters all within walking distance from the Cap Hill area. Note that Sie will not show up on the Flixster app like the others. You have to seek them out individually.

First time at the Sie film center!

Finally made it to Sie to see Blind willow, sleeping woman. It's fun to be in a small theater filled with people who also appreciate a film. The interior is clean and comfortable, with plenty of food and drink offerings aside from popcorn and a coke. Looking forward to coming back for my indie film fix. Tip: Parking is validated for the garage immediately behind the film center

I worked here for the film festival with the production company that I always work for. The staff is fantastic, always making sure you have what you want and need. It's clean as always. I highly recommend this place for the cinephile in your life. Interestingly, I happened to run into my agent while I was there.

That excitement hit another level once tickets went on sale--she fully came out! This movie took a different turn than the previous ones, which I actually appreciated. It wasn't just the same old storyline rehashed. That said, it did have its share of slow scenes that didn't always lead anywhere. While the dinosaur action was fun to watch--and let's be real, that's why we're here--it still only made the grade of a solid C overall. Also, I really wish they had offered it in 4DX/IMAX. That combo would've made the experience much more immersive and thrilling.

It will be so impersonal, that you will not be sure you are set up until a live person actually shows up at your door. What they do: They show up with a giant blow up screen that will fill your back yard. Then they attach speakers that rock your house and sound like the inside of the theater. Then they project the movie of your choice.. Super fun.. This is my third event, and I will keep using FunFLicks, though I hope they improve their pre-event communications in the future.

He only did the front of the screen. Had the wind changed direction, the entire screen would have fallen on all of our guests. After I provided enough stakes the make it safe, he realized he did not have the right sound cords. We had NO SOUND for our outdoor movie. The techs only solution was to drive back to warehouse 45 minutes away and get the correct cord. It would have taken him nearly two hours to get the correct cord, which would have made my family friendly movie starting at midnight. Luckily, our venue holds many events and we were able to provide the tech with the appropriate sound cords. Once we were finally able to start the movie (45 minutes past the scheduled time) he realized he did not have any batteries in his remote to start the movie. Once again, I was scrambling to provide something the company should have already had. The next day I called the company to tell them of all the issues we had with our event and see if I could be compensated anything given the fact that I provided half of the equipment in order to show the movie. Management did not seem to care that I had provide so many things for the movie. They offered to take $100 off my next rental but there was not going to be a next rental. I was told they would speak with their supervisor and call me back the following day. Two full weeks later, I had to follow up to see where the situation stood. I had to remind the manager of the entire situation as she could not recall any of the facts and still gave me the same information the as she did the first time. Apparently I was just supposed to send 200+ guests home and reschedule the event for another time. This was a paid event, I would have had to refund multiple people and I would have lost money. Had I not covered the tech with all of the equipment, the movie would not have played. I understand things come up and mistakes happen but management did not do anything to make the situation right. They were perfectly fine with losing a customer. Needless to say, I would never recommend Fun Flicks due to their techs being unprepared and management not making the situation right and taking nearly 3 weeks to return a call.

Being invited to the final film screening at the 40th Annual Denver Film Festival, I couldn't pass up the change to channel my inner starlet! But wait! You and you alone can change this. You can join. And should. Membership is cheap and benefits are huuuuge. Once, while talking to a board member of the organization, I asked how many members they had. I had guessed it was in the tens of thousands. Turned out it was in the hundreds. Whoa. What's with that? Given the great work they do with the Denver Film Festival, Film On The Rocks, and doing the programming for the Starz Theater at the Tivoli, these folks need all the support they can get. They've had their political / administrative challenges. That's for sure (http://www.denverpost.com/ci_12520398), but they're great folks, working hard to bring the best of independent films to Denver. Let's see how we can drag them outta the doldrums. Go yelpers. Go.

What a fun venue in the basement of Oskar Blues in Downtown Denver!…read more We had been wanting to check out the venue and just happened upon half price tickets for a show on a Friday night. We didn't know the bands, but that has never stopped us before. Black Buzzard is conveniently located on major bus routes into downtown, so we took the bus from the Berkeley neighborhood and walked less than a block to the venue. We were a bit early for doors, so we grabbed a couple of stools at Oskar Blues for a beer before the show. Pro Tip: Although the beverage selection is the same at Oskar Blues & Black Buzzard, you must open separate tabs at each. Black Buzzard has a mix of high top tables and standing space for live music. We had a rather charmed experience. The show was extremely undersold. So, there was plenty of space. And, the band members were super friendly and hung out with us before the show. The bands were fantastic and we had a wonderful time jamming out. Unfortunately, the stage is not very high, so sightlines at a sold out show will not be ideal for short folks like me. In the future, I may stick to their comedy shows here, which I assume are seated.
