It is an Australian film from the 1980's on their large main screen about a aging drag queen going to Alice Springs from Sydney for a gig. The screen and sound system could handle the visual image with excellent sound. Last week, I saw "Moonlight" about gay black culture in Miami. The movie won the 2016 Academy Award for best picture. It was shown in one of the two upper screens. No issues. The floors were clean.

This theater has a large full bar, but still offers candy, popcorn and soft drinks. I am a member of Landmarks reward program. I received an email offering a mystery movie for $5 + a small $1.25 fee. This would make the movie 1/2 normal cost. The ticket person and the concessions crew had no information. It was R rated. I saw Fantasy Life released in 2024. It involved life & times of a New York Jewish family interacting with a male nanny (Manny?) in New York and St Martha's Vineyard. There was at least 30 people joining me in the theater. They also screen older movies like Red with Diane Keaton and Warren Beatty being screened next week. I plan to return.

The seats are older here and not super comfortable, but I'm willing to deal because they play arthouse movies I can't see anywhere else. Parking was rough- the parking lot is tiny and requires validation I think (there was a sign on the door), but if you drive around there is some street parking that has a 3 hour limit. I prefer the location closer to me (there are so many in Denver!) but don't mind stopping in if they are playing something I have to see.

The screens are great and crisp, sound is excellent, but the seats are horrible here. The seat cushions are way too narrow and you feel yourself sliding forward a bit. They are stiff leather seats and outdated. Also, the seats have a big two inch gap at the bottom which makes it easy to lose things behind the seat. The Westminster location has much better seats that recline. The parking is much harder here compared to Westminster. I usually park in their parking lot behind the theater or on side streets but there's also a validated garage across the street. You have to validate at the front desk before you go into your theater and that gives you 4 free hours. It's also a much sketchier location compared to Westminster, especially at night. I came back to my car to see a homeless couple shooting up drugs on the Alamo staircase behind the theater. Just be aware that's a possibility here if getting out late at night. Food is great especially the BBQ chicken pizza. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are usually great but tonight they served me them in a plate that's too cramped for the soft cookies, and they therefore became deformed and fell apart. When you charge $10 for cookies, at least have them on a plate long enough for all 3 cookies like the Westminster location. I haven't been to the Littleton location in CO, but I see no reason to ever go to this location over the Westminster one unless something is only playing here.

Harkins gives me the same intimate, independent feeling vs the big-box spectacle of AMC. The theatres are a nice mid-size with spectacular audio and top-tier seating. Genuinely, their recliners are the comfiest and roomiest out there. And when people pass in front of your seat, you don't have to shrink like you're in an airplane. The rows are wide! Qualities from a bygone era. Their prices are gloriously fair, and the food is pretty good - we've become fans of the crispy chicken sandwich and margherita + bbq chicken flatbreads. The order-ahead app experience has always been reliable for me. And their staff seals the deal: friendly, attentive and helpful.

The interviewer and the staff were professional. The theatre is small enough that every seat is a good seat. The lounge holds plenty of tables and chairs with a bar and concession stand. The location is on Colfax Avenue and there's even free garage parking at the theater and Tattered Cover bookstore next door. I love that this place is local and I don't have to drive all the way to downtown. Definitely check out the Series Fest schedule and other events!

If not there there's always street parking. This location doesn't have as many screens so if you wanna see a movie, you might have to go sooner rather than later. When you first walk in, they'll scan your ticket and then you'll take the escalator upstairs to the lobby where you can buy concessions. This one is like a normal theater, where you have to order popcorn from the counter and then they hand it to you. At some AMC's, they haven't already available to go and go this one not. I saw a movie in Dolby so I'll be reading that theater. It was really big and the seats recline which is super nice. The sound was very loud and the picture was very crispy clear. This theater has the only IMAX 70mm film projector in the metro area, so if you want to see a movie…read morein this format as originally intended--this is the place. The other "IMAX" theaters around town use a digital laser projector which is bright, but only has 20% of the resolution of the film system and a cropped aspect ratio. There is also a dual-laser system that at least supports the taller aspect ratio of 70mm. Trying to figure out which theater has which system is difficult, but--trust me--this is the only 70mm auditorium in Colorado, outside of Colorado Springs. The theater complex was built in 1999 and is really in need of a comprehensive remodel. It's very dated, particularly the seating. Concessions are pretty basic. The 70mm projector failed a few days into the release of The Odyssey (July 2026) and caused an uproar as Regal did a poor job of notifying customers about the problem. I read in the media that the projector had been fixed, so we booked tickets. We had a mostly smooth experience. Although we arrived early for our showing at 11:20 a.m., we only found a few spaces left on the top level of the parking garage. Parking is definitely a problem here if there's a major film event. I'd suggest anything but driving. There is a very convenient light rail/bus station directly adjacent to the Colorado Center complex. Our tickets were scanned and we zipped up the escalator to the main lobby on the second floor. Concessions were moderately busy, but the line kept moving. The seats in the big IMAX auditorium certainly don't meet the standard for modern movie theater seating, particularly for such a premium experience. There would be a space issue with fancier seats, though, as the auditorium is narrow (IMAX is best viewed straight-on). Our seats were a bit to the side in the fifth row. I thought the viewing experience was great. The seats were not uncomfortable. What annoyed me was that the vinyl floor in the seating area was very sticky. Apparently mopping at the end of the day has gone out of style. Anyway, the popcorn tasted fresh and the projection quality was superb--that's the most important thing. We enjoyed the movie.
