I haven't actually stayed at this hotel but I did recently work with someone from the hotel over…read morethe weekend (her name is Lauryn). We had some dear friends who were staying at the hotel and celebrating their anniversary. They mentioned where they were staying and I thought, I should call that place up and try to surprise my friends with something delivered to their room! I never really know who to ask to speak to for something like this so I just called and told the person who answered what I wanted to do. He immediately put me in touch with Lauryn. (Kudos to that guy who knew who I should be transferred to.) Lauryn wasn't there so I left a message. She called me back promptly, within 5 minutes. I told her what I was thinking and told her the name of the guests. Lauryn said she had met one of my friends earlier that morning and said she already knew about the anniversary and was in the process at that very moment of sending them a bottle of bubbly on the house. Immediately, I thought, this is a class act! I asked Lauryn if she could arrange to have a basket full of cheeses and meats delivered and maybe some fruit. She mentioned that there was an organic grocery store next door and that she would be happy to pick some items up for me. I told her the types of salami, cheeses, and other items that I thought they would like. She said no problem. Within 30 minutes, she sent me a picture of what she bought, took off all the price tabs and quickly bundled things up in a basket and had it delivered to them! Lauryn did something else that was really nice too but this review is already long and I think the description above will shed plenty of light on the type of top quality service you can expect when you come to The Blake. At the end of the day, you can own a 5 star hotel but if that hotel doesn't have exceptional staff members to help the guests out (and in this case, their friends from another state), you don't really have a 5 star hotel. All I can do is give them a 5 star review. I definitely know that I want to make a special trip here just so I can hand Lauryn a nice tip to thank her for helping me out so much!

We were so excited to return this year. Their menu has changed dramatically. Offering only 5 main items for dinner. We ordered the duck - which was so tiny. We had the tomorow and cucumber salad. It was wedged tomatoes and maybe 6 slices of cucumber for $24. We also had the tuna - it was served with cantaloupe..... was not great. Overall it was expensive and very little food and it was not good.

Since all the hotels were booked for Labor Day weekend, we had to stay outside of Taos. Luckily for…read moreus, we found this place in the Taos Ski Valley region. This place is tucked away with a couple of other hotels and ski-focused businesses. Our room was nice and large, including the bathroom. You were able to see the mountains from our room window. Since it was near the end of the tourist season, there weren't very many people staying there. Additionally, they have a parking garage at the bottom of the building which requires a code to access. They also had a restaurant and bar that we didn't take advantage of since the bar is only opened seasonally. There was a rec room with TV, pool table, foosball table, and piano. My only problem with this hotel was there was no air conditioning. I understand that most of the time a/c is not required given the area but it would have been useful. Having the window open didn't fully cool down the room. There was a box fan in the room, but it was so loud, you wouldn't be able to sleep it with it on. I liked where this place was located as it was near some walking trails. Also the stray dog cantina is right across the street (you can see my review). I will definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to others.

Our family has stayed here multiple times. The rooms and service are first class. Walk out of their…read morecomfortable boot room, grab your skis from the valet at their ski shop, and hop right on the gondola. Perfect if you have kids, as the gondola drops you right at the front door of the kids ski school! Cozy apres ski in the bar, with roaring fireplace and wonderful drinks and food. The restaurant is top notch, with a reasonably priced world class wine list. A gem in every respect!!

Me and my friend were visiting Santa Fe when we suddenly decided to visit Taos. I think where you…read morestay always affects your travel experience. I started looking for a place to stay in Taos and the hotel in ski resort caught my attention. Yes, almost 30 minutes drive from downtown was a bit of dilemma, but deep inside I knew spending a day in ski resort during summer is one of the best decisions. The front desk was extremely helpful, they reached out to me first arranging my late check In. I felt immediately welcomed and I could not wait to go there! The rooms were so clean, spotless and comfortable, they have a patio with bbq, sauna and jacuzzi. The mountain air filled my soul, it was so fresh and pure, the water at the resort itself was very tasty. We also ended up visiting Williams lake. I recommend this place 100000000000%. Thank you for making my New Mexico travel experience extra incredible and unforgettable!

Alpine Village Suites was a terrific find! **pats myself on the back**…read more Prices were reasonable for the area... and the location is fantastic! Parking is relatively close (a 3 minute walk) and it's pretty much ski-in/ski-out (it's a 2 minute walk to the lifts)! And there is a coffee shop, market (grocery), and a couple bars/restaurants all within a 2 minute walk! Staff is friendly, although not always around... so get what you need while they are there during daytime hours! Travis T. and I had a loft room... and after I saw the steep climb up the ladder to the loft, I wisely let him have the loft (I had a torn meniscus, so I had to rest it... for some long days of skiing!). The pull-out sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I learned to switch sides every night to maximize my sleep experience. I would stay here again next time in Taos! *****FIVE STARS*****
