I…read morewas super excited, as the place appeared gorgeous and remote, exactly what we were looking for. Our expectations were not only met, but exceeded many times over. From the friendly and welcoming hosts to the absolutely stunning landscape, this place is totally amazing. The Casita - We were lucky and got an upgrade to Upper Stream. What a gorgeous place. Warm wood floors, a full and well equipped kitchen, a nice gas fireplace, little touches around the place, all really made it feel incredibly cozy and welcoming. We ate out a few times but brought plenty of food to cook breakfast and lunch on site. Our stay lasted four days, so it felt almost like home! The Land - I am an urbanite, so this place was literally nirvana to me. We saw a hawk in action, and heard coyotes. We went on a nice walk, along the dry river bed and up into the hills. I was giddy with the the views and plant life bursting around me. Just be sure to bring a hat! It's bright/warm out there (we were there in early October). I fell in love with the pond! It was an oasis in the dry climate of New Mexico. We spent a lot of time sitting up there, taking in the view. My traveling companion went swimming, too! I can't say enough good things about Cliff River Springs. Those four days will stay with me for many, many moons to come.

I will start with the gracious manager, Hope, then the property, and finally the casita. My five week stay was phenomenal because of Hope Atterbury. Hope's kindness and attentiveness pierced through me from our first email correspondence to my last day. She responded to my emails quickly (I have a feature phone without vowifi but got good reception around the upper pond, the plaza, and the parking lot). Hope appropriately checked on my wellbeing without being annoying. During my stay I did not have a vehicle (I still don't lol). Hope generously offered and picked up groceries from me whenever she went into town. Without her kindness, I would have been very hungry, but I still would have enjoyed the scenery and my casita. The Cliff River Springs property is vast, varied, and vibrant. After my arrival, Hope showed me around the beautiful property; more importantly, she showed me the map of the property and the guide to the various trails and hikes on the property. During the first two weeks, I had an amazing time exploring the property and trails. Listening, feeling, smelling, and watching nature be reborn was peaceful and soul satisfying. After the weather warmed and I got some courage, I took several rejuvenating swims in the upper pond. Later on I found a distinguished, tremendous tree to share energy, practice yoga, meditate, and observe life near my casita (the tree is near the longest bench and valley overview area). My casita, "Cliff Mid," was quiet, charming, and cozy. "Cliff Mid" contained everything I needed to feel at home. It had great wifi, a full sink, refrigerator, dishes, salt, olive oil, various tea bags, tea kettle, soap, towels, a gas range and oven, a toaster, dining table, full size bed with a thick comforter, sofa, arm chair, bathroom, electric heat baseboards, yoga mat, books, pots and pans, spices, and hot sauce. My favorite part of the casita are the windows. There is one window in the front and three windows in the back of the casita. I love the refreshing air flow with all the windows open. Also being able to watch the birds, especially the humming birds, from the front window and listen to the stream from the back windows is spectacular. One of the best parts of my adventure at Cliff River Springs were the moments I shared with the other guests and staff. I had different neighbors during my stay. Everyone had positive, calm aura; additionally, everyone was friendly. Whether you come by yourself, with a friend, or with a bunch of family, you will enjoy the harmony and nature at Cliff River Springs. You will leave relaxed and happier (maybe a little sad leaving because you want to stay longer). I plan to return to Cliff River Springs to experience its magic during each season. The rustic charm is everywhere from the Spanish tile bathroom to the spacious bedroom. There are chair on the front porch to sit and enjoy the court yard. Our room had an open but private back porch with more chairs. We enjoyed some coffee here before heading to breakfast, Breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Nga was amazing. Wished we were able to stay longer. I would give this place 7 stars ( 2 bonus stars)

My boyfriend, our dog, and I ended up booking this B&B last minute after leaving another accommodation early because it had bugs (including a camel spider in our bed ). We found this place online at resnexus.com as well Yelp and stalked their website, loved the photos, read the reviews, and immediately felt relieved when we arrived. The Piñon Casita was adorable, the property itself is beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts seemed friendly. For the first hour or so I was thinking, Thank goodness, we finally found the place. Unfortunately, things slowly started going downhill from there. The first night, the fireplace wouldn't work. We messaged the hosts, sent photos, tried troubleshooting it ourselves, and eventually just gave up and accepted we'd be having a fireplace-free evening. It wasn't the end of the world, and we figured hey, stuff happens. The next day they came and fixed it, which we appreciated. Then came the washer. One of the reasons we were excited about this casita was because it included a washer and dryer. Earlier in the week we'd already spent time at a laundromat, so we were looking forward to doing laundry before our 8-hour drive home. We started a load and got a 4E error less than halfway through the wash. We looked it up ourselves, we tried troubleshooting, we messaged the hosts, we followed their suggestions, and we tried different cycles. At this point I felt less like a guest and more like the on-call appliance technician. They eventually told us the washer had been fixed while we were out hiking, so we were excited to finally do laundry. Spoiler alert it wasn't fixed. Same error. We tried again later that evening. Same issue. Then around 11 PM the washer completely shut off and locked our wet laundry inside. We messaged the hosts again because we were supposed to leave the next morning after breakfast and start an 8-hour drive home. The response that frustrated us most wasn't even the broken washer, it was being told that because we hadn't specifically mentioned on the phone that we intended to use the washer and dryer, (And she said that they don't accept same day bookings, but made an exception for us, though that was never communicated nor was this a policy written anywhere on their website) compensation wouldn't be considered. Respectfully, if an amenity is advertised, guests shouldn't have to announce ahead of time that they plan on using it. That's like asking if the shower works before booking because you intend to shower. We weren't asking for a huge refund. We weren't asking for hundreds of dollars back. Even a small gesture of goodwill $50 to $100 off the stay would have gone a long way and would have shown that they understood the inconvenience. Instead, we paid full price despite having a fireplace that didn't work the first night and a washer/dryer that never functioned properly during our stay. To add to that, there were also multiple spiders and bugs inside the casita. I understand this is the countryside and bugs exist. Trust me, I get it. But after literally leaving our previous accommodation because of bugs, it wasn't exactly what we hoped to deal with again. The next morning our laundry was still trapped in the washer. Eventually my boyfriend ended up figuring out the breaker issue himself after staff told us where the breaker panel was located. We rushed to get our laundry spun and dried before checkout, but they still weren't completely dry. So instead of leaving relaxed after a nice getaway, we ended up starting our 8-hour drive home later than planned with damp laundry shoved into a trash bag. The frustrating part is that this review could have been completely different. The property is beautiful, the breakfast was genuinely fantastic, the casita itself is cute and cozy. And honestly, if the hosts had simply acknowledged the inconvenience and offered even a small amount of compensation, I probably would've happily overlooked most of this. Instead, we left feeling like the burden of fixing the problems fell on us while still paying full price for amenities we couldn't properly use. It's a lovely property, but unfortunately the way these issues were handled means we won't be returning.

We chose the Santiago Room" which is a touch of "Old World" Spain. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, the ambiance of the adobe fireplace warming the room was calming. The bathroom was clean and unique, as was the entire room. That night, we were craving a warm beverage, so we headed down to the kitchen and made ourselves some tea. We will definitely be returning!

I started looking for a place to stay in Taos and the hotel in ski resort caught my attention. Yes, almost 30 minutes drive from downtown was a bit of dilemma, but deep inside I knew spending a day in ski resort during summer is one of the best decisions. The front desk was extremely helpful, they reached out to me first arranging my late check In. I felt immediately welcomed and I could not wait to go there! The rooms were so clean, spotless and comfortable, they have a patio with bbq, sauna and jacuzzi. The mountain air filled my soul, it was so fresh and pure, the water at the resort itself was very tasty. We also ended up visiting Williams lake. I recommend this place 100000000000%. Staff is friendly, although not always around... so get what you need while they are there during daytime hours! Travis T. and I had a loft room... and after I saw the steep climb up the ladder to the loft, I wisely let him have the loft (I had a torn meniscus, so I had to rest it... for some long days of skiing!). The pull-out sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable, but I learned to switch sides every night to maximize my sleep experience. I would stay here again next time in Taos! *****FIVE STARS*****

Spartan review I…read morehad the opportunity to stay in a vintage 1940s travel trailer on my recent visit to Santa Fe. Also known as "the Spartan", has been lovingly restored to original era interior finishes, amenities and appliances. I was a little hesitant about the size initially, as am over six feet tall, but once settled in I easily navigated the kitchen, living room, bedroom and shower with ease. Really enjoyed the coziness of it. Aside from the interior the spartan is flanked with a front porch with views of the sangre de cristo mountains and a backyard with trees and shrubs creating a unique welcoming space. Worthy of a destination itself the spartan is sure to please with all it's charm and creature comforts.

Richard had a letter attached to the wood frame entrance to our accommodations welcoming us to the property. He came right over to introduce himself, show us around the property, and even picked a few things from the garden for us to enjoy during our stay. We settled in and enjoyed the cheese, crackers, olives and snacks that he had on the table along with a bottle of wine that was delicious. The next morning, Richard was on our doorstep with warm pear and walnut scones that he made from the pear tree on the property. Our little cottage was perfect. Filled with local art work, bright colors and the textures of the Southwest. We had a lovely living room, dining area with a banquette, kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Upstairs was the bedroom and bathroom with a large deck off the bedroom and stunning views of the mountains surrounding Taos. Everything was spotlessly clean, warm, inviting and cozy. We relaxed, enjoyed and savored every moment we were here. I even used the little meditation hut next to the creek for my morning meditations. It was the most peaceful spot. In the refrigerator we found 6 fresh eggs that Richard had left from the chickens on the property. We thoroughly enjoyed them. Richard was friendly, kind, giving and the most gracious host and a wonderful innkeeper. If you ever find yourself traveling to Taos, you must stay.
