I usually have my cousin (who is a Dentist) take care of my dental issues in Las Vegas. However, since I was out of town on business for a month and had a major toothache in Santa Clarita, I decided to move forward and have a local dentist help identify and treat the pain. Since this dental office was next door to where I was staying, the Hyatt hotel, I decided to head over to have her look at it. Dr B and her staff Christina were awfully nice and friendly. However, the "good part" of this experience stops right there. Below are my negative experiences: 1. After taking multiple x-rays, she was not able to identify the pain. After several request to have her look at the section of my teeth again, she finally found that there was a crack on my upper left back tooth. Told me that the x-rays were not clear. Not quite sure if she could read her own X-rays or not. 2. She referred me to a friend who would be able to perform a root canal. The specialist, Dr. Parsi, did a very good job. However, he charged me an arm and a leg. For a root canal, I was charged around $1,500. Being in so much pain, I forked over the payment and had it done. Afterwards, they gave me this smoke and mirror excuse that it was done with specialize high tech equipment. Per my personal dentist, this should only have been between $700-$800. 3. After the root canal was done, they wanted to put a crown on it. However, before they do so, the crown specialist (Dr. Green) recommended that I NEED a crown lift to allow the crown to be placed on the area where the root canal had been done. The original quote was for another $1500, but I was able to negotiate down to $1000. And, the crown, would be another $1000. This totals to $2,000 for the lift and crown. However, my cousin advised to wait and see him instead in Vegas. -- It just felt like the two offices - Dr B, Dr Parsi, and Dr Green (crown specialist), was tugging a client along to see how much we could pay. They were the very definition of leeches. I went with my gut and deferred the procedure. And, was told that I need a temporary build up and go see Dr. B. Note: Dr. Parsi could have done this procedure; however, because he was teaming up the revenue, he sent me to Dr. B. 4. Went back to Dr. B to do the post build up. This was the scary part. She had no clue on how to do a Post Build up properly. She put the post in; however, she did NOT put a rubber ring around the tooth (this would allow her to fill within the ring) prior to performing the build up around the post. Instead, she filled the build up 'ad hoc' -- again without the ring. The problem with this: a. It is messy and spilled onto the other teeth. b. because of the spillage, I felt major pain for the next few weeks. c. later on, when my cousin looked at it, the buildup was stabbing against my gums. think of ice picks stabbing at you as you eat. d. Another issue was that she did not check my bite. Because of the sloppy post build up that was performed, it hurt each time I bit down. My teeth and gums were in total pain. 5. After 1.5 weeks, I went to Dr Parsi who performed the root canal and was advised that the post build up needed to be shaved down to allow my bite to be normal. This alleviated much of the pain. After spending close to $2,000 (root canal included), I made my way home and see my cousin (our family dentist). Because of the messy post build up, he had to remove it. It was like tearing concrete out of my mouth. It took over 3 hours in the dentist chair. Afterwards, he applied a new build up correctly. He also told me that I did NOT need a crown lift. Created a mold for my crown and applied a new porcelain crown a week later. He charged me less than $400 for all is work. I had dinner with him that night and he advised me that in 20 years of dental work, he has NEVER ever seen so much incompetence done by another doctor. I had a right to feel like being tugged by "used" car salesmen. To do the whole procedure: x-rays, root canal, post buildup, and crown, he would have charged me only $1200 TOTAL. This office and their specialists would have cost me about $4,000. Major rip off!! xray, post build up, and other fees = 500 (paid) Root Canal = $1500 (paid) Crown lift (recommended but declined) = $1000 Crown (recommended but declined)= $1000 Absolutely horrible!!! After going through this experience, I would NEVER recommend this doctor. Please stay away. read more

I hate leaving 1 star reviews, but I just want people to be careful. I came here for a cleaning, when I was looking for a new dentist, and saw all the 5 star reviews.. the cleaning was very rushed and my mouth was nicked twice with the cleaning tool. Right afterwards, I was matter-of-factly told I needed 4 more appointments and to schedule them right away. The thing that really got me to run though, was that I was offered a free bottle of mouth wash if I left a 5 star review. Don't go here. Or if you do, be careful and question everything. Again, I hate leaving 1 star, and maybe things have changed, but my experience here was a little unsettling. read more

Dr. B literally changed how I felt about my teeth within the first 5 minutes of meeting her. I've always been a tad insecure about some white spots on my 2 front teeth. I always thought it was flourosis but , Dr. B very quickly diagnosed it as hypercalcification. Instead of playing off my insecurity/vanity and recommending very costly veneers, Dr. B assured me that not only were they hardly noticeable, but that I in fact had very beautiful and strong teeth. Even though she could do it, she said she would hate to perform an irreversible procedure on my healthy teeth. Even thought she made me feel immediately better about my white spots, I still felt a little insecure about how one of my front teeth was a bit longer than the other. Within minutes, she had reshaped my tooth to match the other perfectly. I was only in the office for about 30 minutes and Dr. B was able to give me a proper diagnosis, fix my uneven teeth, and completely change my mind about dental visits. Prior to seeing her, I had my teeth cleaned at another office near my home and almost left in tears from pain and how terrible they treated me. I am so thankful I found Dr. B - she is amazing. In that time she and her assistant/office manager Khristine have treated me well, have been extremely accommodating, and most importantly honest. Dr. Bolourchi is a very pleasant person. She is very nice. Lisa at the front desk is really wonderful. Unfortunately there were some issues that came up during my visits. I found the dental hygienist to be very pushy. She kept insisting I get a dental implant even though I advised several times I can't afford it. She made me feel very bad that I could not afford the implant. When my old crown was being taken out the whole thing broke including some of my own tooth. That led me need to have why whole tooth extracted. That, by the way, was done by another office by an Oral Surgeon. It was an old crown so I can't say that it was necessarily something the dentist did to cause the whole thing to break. My main issues were ones of hygiene. One of my visits, the dentist with gloves on went and used the phone and turned on lights and then was going to start examining my mouth. I asked can she please change her gloves. The patient should not have to ask. Another visit she opened the packet of tools without gloves and was going to start examining me without gloves and after touching the tools with hand. I asked can she put gloves on she said she always wears gloves. Well, she didn't that time. She asked did I want her to open another tray. I said yes. Did she really need to ask? She also seemed very hesitant to work on my tooth where the crown broke. I have an illness that can cause me to have extra pain. However, with the correct amount of novacaine I am fine. She seemed nervous to work on me because of that issue. She didn't really want to do a bridge on me but instead kept recommending a flipper which was still pretty expensive for being a temporary fix. After all of these things occuring I changed dentists. This other dentist was very clean and very confident and gave me the bridge. I would not go back to this dental practice at Sierra Dental Practice. Again, she was very nice but the overall experience was not a good one. read more

The front desk staff was extremely helpful in confirming that my insurance was accepted and I was able to get an appointment with ease. Dr. Bolourchi and her hygienist were friendly and the cleaning I received was truly one of the best and most comfortable I've ever had. They were not pushy about extra treatments and instead, clearly explained what I would benefit from and possible options. If I could give a negative review I would. Don't be fooled by their kindness, I was and I got scammed. For the last year, I have been fighting a false dental claim that cost me over $200 for insurance. January 11, 2022 I went to this dentist office for the first time after leaving my childhood dentist office. The doctor told me that I needed to have teeth filled. She told me three were needed so I made two follow up appointments to get those teeth filled one January 20, 2022 and another for February 14, 2022 since two were on one side of my mouth and another was on the opposite side. I go to my January 20 appointment and ended up paying almost $300 in fees that I have never had to pay before at any other dentist I went to. They made me sign an agreement at the beginning that they didn't fully explain to me. I tried to ask questions because I didn't want to sign the document, but they told me they would not complete the filling if I didn't sign it. So I signed it and I asked the doctor if the additional fee is necessary and she said it may be I need to do the procedure first. So she completed it and said that the cavity wasn't that bad, so nothing extra was needed but then when I got to the front desk and was leaving, the secretary told me that I must pay the fee because I signed the document even though the dentist told me that was not necessary. I asked her if she could go check with the dentist and she said the dentist said the same thing. So I paid it because I didn't know what to do. I came back to my next appointment on the 14th and they tried to charge me $200 again and I called my mom and she told me to walk out and so I did but what the doctor didn't do is tell the insurance that she didn't fix the teeth that she had already claimed she did. See on January 20 when I was there she had put in a claim saying that she fixed more teeth than the one tooth she actually fixed so that way she would get the insurance money ahead of when she actually fixed it. Then when I walked out she never changed it and received money for a job she never completed. When I contacted insurance because I actually got the teeth fixed by a reliable dentist, she switched up and started claiming that she fixed teeth that she had never done before. When I kept doing counter claims, she would just move to a different tooth and say she fixed that one so she wouldn't have to pay the money back. And this battle has been going on for almost a year now. Overall, they scammed me out of over $500. They are terrible and I will never come here again. And what's crazy is they keep calling me asking me when I'm going to make a follow up appointment, knowing that they did me wrong and scammed me. The nerve. You should be ashamed. read more

This was my second time at Sierra Dental office, the first was an emergency walk in for a very bad tooth ache. Dr. B took me in with no appointment and assessed my tooth ache. She advised she could try to fix it but that there was a 50/50 chance that ache would get worse. She instead prescribed me a mouth wash and said we should monitor it over the next few weeks. I absolutely appreciated her honesty and the fact that she gave me options instead of moving forward with a procedure that really was not necessary and could've been very painful. The staff is friendly and they really make you feel at home. It's a very personal experience and they make it a priority to get to know their patients which is so refreshing. I have never felt more comfortable and well cared for at a dentist before. The whole atmosphere at Sierra Dental Practice is wonderful. I used to hate going to the dentist due to painful procedures, ambiguous pricing, and an overall impersonal staff. This dentist is the complete opposite! Lisa, who works at the front office, handles all of my questions about pricing and insurance. She is extremely friendly and knowledgeable! Dr. Bolourchi and her assistant are very in tune with how I'm feeling throughout my procedures; they consistently check for feedback to make sure that I'm ok-- I appreciate this so much.
