That time includes prep and placement of a new crown, fixing many gum line bond fillings, filling a cavity, and deep cleaning where needed. Every visit, and every procedure was handled perfectly with amazing results. I honestly feel like I have a whole new mouth! Dr. Park's attention to every detail, his magically precise work with his hands, and very comprehensive treatment plan was exactly what I needed. I was a little turned off by this office, first they make you sign consent forms that state that you have been told and informed about procedures that you haven't even talked about because you're a new patient! As a brand new patient, to me that seems odd to sign a document that states I was advised of treatments and agree to them when I just walked in and have never discussed anything. I came in for a cleaning only, they wanted to have X-rays, this makes sense but I declined because I am unsure if I could be very newly pregnant. They went and spoke to the doctor and came back to tell me that without the X-ray the doctor would not see me. I have zero dental issues and I only wanted the annual cleaning. From the surface, The staff seemed friendly. The office is old and the equipment and exam table are very dated.The exam table did not look very clean, due to left over matter in the cracks of the seat as well as tearing. For me- this clearly is not the office for me. Being forced to sign or do anything is not a way to run a business in my opinion. read more

I recently underwent a series of treatments through workers compensation, at a dentist in Burbank. Not only did I receive treatment for damage, I was also given multiple cleanings over the last year and a half. One month ago, I went for my final evaluation at that dentist. I was given a deep cleaning on my final visit. At that time, I asked if they could make me dental trays for teeth whitening, which I would pay for out-of-pocket. Because I was seeing that office under workers compensation they told me they cannot accept money from me, so I would have to go to my regular dentist. I hadn't been to Tesoro dental in a couple of years because of the workers comp treatment I called and scheduled an appointment to get teeth whitening trays made. I was told that before they will make the trays for me I needed to have a check-up by their Dentist. I informed the scheduler that I had a clearance document from the workers comp dentist stating that I had no underlying issues. The scheduler insisted that I have a check up by their dentist. I agreed and scheduled the appointment. I arrived today for the appointment, and throughout the time I was there I reminded everyone that my primary purpose for the visit was to get teeth whitening trays, and that I had just had an extensive cleaning and examination a month prior. They insisted that they do x-rays and a full cleaning again. I understand the reason for that, it's an opportunity for them to bill my dental insurance and make money. After the x-rays were completed, the dentist pointed out two teeth that he noted something that he felt "may or may not be an issue". He asked me if I was experiencing any pain, to which I said no. He repeated that what he sees on the x-rays may not be anything. To make sure, he told me that he would refer me to a specialist (for his kickback) and then I could go see them to verify. I sat for the teeth cleaning and the hygienist told me we were done and and would see me back in six months. I asked about the dental trays. He told me that they would not make the trays for me until I had these two teeth examined by their specialist friend. He explained that if new crowns were required, then the trays wouldn't fit any longer. I reminded him that the dentist said I wasn't experiencing any pain so it may not be an issue. I was willing to pay for the trays and take that risk that down the road I may have to buy them again. They refused, period. This dental office is a bunch of scammers. I was completely upfront with the scheduler, informing him that I was just seen a month prior and given a clearance letter from the dentist that treated me. That dentist found no issues with my teeth. I also informed them that I had just had a deep cleaning one month prior. There was no question that my focus was to simply buy the whitening trays. Once I was in the door and they realized I had dental insurance, their goal was to charge up as big a bill as they could, regardless of what my request of service was. I regret going through the whole scam, just to make them money and not get what I was there to get. After this review, I plan to notify my dental insurance and the Dental Board of California. UPDATE - After writing my review I looked online for a new dentist to get whitening trays from. I called and asked if I could get an appointment to be fitted for whitening trays. During the appointment process she asked when my last cleaning was. I told her my workers comp doctor did a deep cleaning a month ago, following an exam. Her response was "great, then if you've been seen recently we just need to fit you for the trays". I didn't share my experience with Tesoro. I did ask what the process would be when I got there. She went right into how the trays are fitted. Nothing else. It was at that time that I shared my experience with Tesoro. She told me they get a lot of patients that are unhappy with Tesoro. People need to remember, when you go to a doctor, you know or feel that something is wrong. When you go to a dentist, they can always claim you have "issues" that require expensive treatment, even if there are no symptoms. There is no way to know if that treatment is actually required at that time. Tesoro cannot be trusted. read more

Dr. Park and hygiene tech Nico not only have great skills but also very nice. Dr. Park alway explain things and make sure you understand before he is going to do it. I hate dental cleaning, because I am super sensitive, Nico is very gentle, he tried to cause less discomfort as possible. I am very grateful to be their patient. read more

First time visit, the staff are very nice, the dentist is really nice as well. Took the xray, cleaned my teeth and gum, and noted a few things caused by previous infections. Will keep an eye on those affected areas. Lets hope they are stable or improving. Will check again in 6 months. I like dr. Park because he is very careful, gentle, and thorough and smart. And the assistant is pretty pleasant too. All in all it was a great experience. I think they deserve a 5 stars read more

I texted the following to Smile City and never heard anything back even though I asked them to confirm that they received this. I know they got it because they had texted me first confirming an appointment. I also let the receptionist know that she could call me if she wanted feedback on why I was visibly upset after my last appointment. She never followed up ‍ My bad experience was with the new hygienist (I don't know what her name is but she said she came from Beverly Hills). She told me that she had just been hired in the past two weeks. She caused me alot of discomfort during my cleaning and refused to go easier on me until it was too late and I was upset. Her reason for not wanting to go easier was because she said she needed to clean under my gums and it was the only way. I told her she didn't need to go so deep. She was defensive and unprofessional and caused me a lot of unnecessary bleeding- something I'd never experienced with anyone else before. She also over exaggerated going easy on me at the end when I made it clear that I was upset and would barely touch me just to make a point. She barely put the flouride on my teeth. My mouth did not feel clean at all after this cleaning. It just felt bloody and gross. My family and I have been patients there for about 5 years and have never experienced anything but a positive experience. The former hygienist always went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She always provided excellent cleanings. At the end of all of my previous appointments a dentist looked over the hygienists work. For some reason there was no dentist supervision last time I was in. We are extremely disappointed. read more

I had a bad experience with Smile City Dental and ending up canceling my appointment that same day. I came in 30 mins early to get checked-in. The staff asked for my name and then started laughing. I asked her do you find my name funny? She said, I just think it's cute and kept laughing. I felt so disrespected and offended. Clearly, the staff needs training on cultural sensitivity. She lacked the sensitivity to even realize that her behavior is offending me. I had to let her know directly that her behavior is disrespectful, and that was the only time she stopped and apologized. Customer Service and Professionalism goes a long way. And that is something that this specific Smile City Dental staff lacks. read more

Very upset with the way they bill clients. They actually told me that because I have insurance they charge me a higher price for their services then they would a person without insurance. I only have a small amount of money my insurance provider will pay on my behalf each year and it got used up very quickly this year because this dental office over charged me. On my last visit I asked them if they would bill me as a patient w/o insurance & they said yes & collected $75 for the visit which is what a patient without insurance would pay. They then proceeded to put the bill through my insurance company anyway and sent me a bill for $235.00 instead of $75.00. Although the staff are very friendly, they are not very reliable or knowledgeable. read more
