The first amazing surprise is there was no entry fee! We entered the garden and quickly ran into another surprise- a human-sized chess board! My boys wanted to play a game against each other...didn't know it was going to take 45mins...but it was fun to sit and watch and listen to the birds chirping. We then continued our tour around the grounds and saw many wonderful plants, trees, bushes, flowers and more. The grounds are beautifully manicured! There some educational areas where you can learn more about irrigation, landscaping and design. To walk around the garden takes about 30mins, but we spent 1.5hrs here as we took a lot of pictures and asked some questions from the workers. The workers and volunteers were very gracious to answer our questions and teach us more about the garden. You can tell they love their job and they love visitors. At the end of the tour, I made sure to drop a little cash in their donation box. Thanks Conservation Garden Park for the great time!

They have great visual exhibits, labelling placards, and fun interactive activities. 10/10 worth the stop, and I can't believe this place is free to the public. We stopped in here to take some casual iPhone photos as a family since we don't see eachother everyday. (Photography requires a $10 pass) It was the perfect backdrop for what we were doing, and we had a great time exploring the gardens through the park along the way.

This new Regional Park held a "grand opening" in June 2023, unveiling a huge grassy field, multiple jungle gyms, a basketball court, a Pavillion you may rent, and a restroom facility. Nestled in a residential area, there's sweeping views of mountains all around. Don't even worry about parking....there's LOTS of parking, at least three different lots all around this majestic park. I didn't see any EV chargers though. Maybe those will arrive in future phases? I mean, there's LOTS of space for solar panels and it is blazing with sun.... According to their website, Phase 1 was a $18 million investment from a handful of different organizations. Now, 160 acres is a lot of grass and plants...where is the water coming from to maintain this greenery?

I wouldn't be thrilled about the idea of sending kids to this park without supervision...although it's not exactly 'ghetto' like other reviewers have said, there are some 'unsavory' characters hanging out around this particular part of town from time to time.

I noticed wheelchair ramps, modified swings and playground facilities that anyone could use. From their website, the old playground was "loved to death." What a great thing! So the new one was constructed with EVERYONE in mind. Wood chips are gone and replaced with a rubberized soft play surface. There are plenty of slides, swings and things to climb on. There are also a bunch of areas that are covered by canopy-like things, providing shade cover. Parking is still a little iffy-the road is one-way and depending on where you enter the park, you may have to drive the entire loop before you get to the playground. But it's worth the drive. While you're there, be sure to check out the library and take a walk around the park-there's plenty of space to roam!

West Jordan parks have their own feel. This, of course, is a broad overstatement after visiting a…read morehandful of them, but there is a consistent vibe amongst the ones I have visited. The vibe is this--unexpected parks, well-maintained, but pretty simple and quiet and small. It feels like they've taken a quantity approach, and rather than pack people into massive megaparks (oh, they've got those too--looking at you, Veterans Memorial) they have these tiny parks tucked into the crevices between houses and neighborhoods. Bicentennial is a case in this point. Located right there on 7000 S, it's actually not so tucked away, but all you really see is a long field and some trees at the end. If you drive into the neighborhood, you'll park along the road and find a small pavilion, some picnic tables, and a wonderful playground. That's pretty much the entirety of the place, and it clocks in at just over an acre and a half. I think the idea is lovely, and it was well-maintained and clean, which is really the key to places like this, so I'm all for the small parks dotting the map where West Jordians... Jordanese... citizens of West Jordan can walk to and enjoy.

There is also a giant tower with some of the biggest slides I've ever seen. The park itself is very large with plenty of grass and room to enjoy pretty much any activity you can think of. They do have what looks like a zip line, but I've never seen it actually being used and I'd actually say that for how awesome the rest of the park is, the actual playground area is a little lacking. That said, if I lived closer, I'd be happy to take my kids here every day
